First up is the title track "AFRO GO", an Afro jazz influenced piece that's sure to inspire dancers & deep house music lovers world wide. Next up is "AMBROSIA", an atmospheric yet deep house cut. The B side features a previously release collaboration with house music icon ROBERT OWENS: "TONIGHT". Bringing this EP to a close is the slow burner "ACID OUTPOST", with iconic Chicago acid house overtones, but then Vick & company (JUSTIN DILLARD) turns the acid concept on it's head and it becomes their vision totally (late night acid jazz??). 'Change' is another one drenched in astral synth lines over dancing drum patterns and 'Daylight' then melts the heart with its brilliantly soulful vocals and skipping drum beats. This classy EP shuts down with a Latin-flavoured sound on 'Somebodies Samba'. More

Vick Lavender returns to Cataleya Music with the sensational Chicago Blue Line. This is a magical key led jam with a deep reaching melody. The first half has an acidic bassline, whilst the second features a free flowing flute and a strong bass guitar. Remixes come from two legendary producers. First up is Spiritual House pioneer Antonio Ocasio. The Tribal Winds boss provides a glorious star gazing effort with 'Lofty' key work and flexing sax. The equally esteemed Kai Alcé takes the track in a different direction. His remix starts as an energetic dancefloor winner with unrelenting percussion and an instep bassline. Three minutes later, the mood changes with freeform jazz piano, live percussion and pointed trumpeting. Chicago Blue Line is another high quality release from Sweden's Cataleya Music. More

With a Balearic tinged guitar, a fat bassline and buoyant synths, Lavender has created a real beauty. Remixes come courtesy of Californian rising star Coflo. His Remix deploys a mysterious vocal over questioning keys and steadfast percussion. The Remix offers expressive rhodes passages and glorious guitars, whilst Coflo’?s Dub Tool is a driving finale. The first instalment of the Forbidden Dance label is an organic brew of musicianship supervised by one of the Chicago deep house scene pillars - Vick Lavender. Three warm cuts are tinted with a jam feel showing Lavenders well-known ability to gather a different kind of music players and vocalists resulting in a soulful sections that are cleverly breaking the usual and linear electronic music mould. That's pretty obvious on 'Habanos', the opener track which fluently combines multi-layers of piano and synth sections in contrast to tribal rhythmics and flowy marimba background. With Yvette Magallon pouring pure honey with vocal inserts it's a never-stopping dance of the soul elements. Lavender manages to keep the same feel on the B side as well, with 'The Definition' track going off a bit more subtle but at the same time showing a funky edge with a playful bassline. Reverbed percussive lushness and diverse synth teasers are tinting the track with a summer night breeze, something your hips would move to. 'NiteFlye Jessie's Journey' is a closing track and a slow-burner riddled with spacey explorations of the keyboard. It gives almost 80's like feel beautifully integrating subtle synth envelopes and even marimba bits. A perfect deep rounder of this musically rich release. Hats off Mr Lavender! More
