Cody 'Coflo' Ferreira is hyped right now, and for all the right reasons. Spinning all over the world and producing killer tunes on all the right labels (including Local Talk).
But we think he is at his very best when he goes in the studio with US vocalist Lee Wilson. Even though they delivered some great tunes in the past, we can honestly say that this is the best one by far...yet.
The track 'We Can Make It' comes in two versions, one "soulful mix" for all the garage heads, and on the flip, there's a darker and more electronic mix (but still loaded with soul).

Urban Reconstruction is a release that blends House, Techno and Broken-Beat in a very skilful way.

The title track is, dare we say, a Los Hermanos sounding track that holds both the energy and harmonies Gerald Mitchell would produce.
'I Do' is house on a broken beat tip while 'Freedom' got more of the M-Scape sound fusing House, Jazz and Techno.

When it comes to breathing new life into classic cuts Joseph Caserta is as good as it gets, proven many times on his imprint BridgeBoots.

Making punchy and jackin' house, sounding like it's been dipped in some secret sauce is another trick of his.

Now, this release is really special. Warsaw's finest producer, envee (yes spelled in lower case) has been around the block since the early 2000s and is arguably Poland's #1 producer of underground dance music...with soul.
With a sound that often leans towards the UK underground, we thought that we should enlist one of envee's (and our) fave producers to remix his new Local Talk release; Manchester’s finest Zed Bias.

We asked Zed to give us that deep, soulful 2-Step rub but with a slight jazz edge and boy did he deliver.
Not only did he remix one of the tracks, he got so inspired and remixed both tracks...don!
It's proper UK deep UK 2-step / garage that will work in any (!) decent club. Yup it's that good.

We of course need to mention the original mixes from envee himself.
Sum Luv is a warm and melodic hip hop / soul jam with a slight Dilla(ish) backbeat. A proper tune!
Styrax sounds like a killer jazz-funk banger straight out the Bugz In The Attic playbook with jazzy Rhodes, breakbeats, big strings, and a bad bassline. West London meets Wars aw...bam!!

Local Talk are proud to present a live recording with Soulphiction & Netzer from 2018, recorded live just a month before the official release of 'Bizzness' the first of several releases Soulphiction and Local Talk released together.

Bizzness is by many considered a classic and had all the trade marks of a Soulphiction tune with its dusty soul and funk-infused house ingredients.
This live version really shows the vision and forward thinking of Michel Baumann using his Soulphiction moniker.

Also included on this release is a - as far as we know it - unreleased track called Dileila Emergency Dub.
A track built around a heady deep house theme that captures the sweaty, back-in-the-day feel we all love to hear in a track.

Coflo & Lee Wilson returns to Local Talk with a follow up to their single 'Fool For You'. Their new release 'Rainbows' is showcasing a duo that yet again brings some superb soulful house music that can not fail to ignite a floor.

Coflo's warming, musically expansive house sound frequently offers nods to several genres but he manages to tie them all together brilliantly. Combined with Lee's vocals the duo is a force to be reckoned with.

The Backside Mix is a thrusting, bass-heavy bump channeling Yoruba's grandmaster Osunalde mixed with something Henrik Schwarz would produce in his prime.
It's definitely made for the late after-hours in a club when there's sweat on the walls.

It's been a while since Local Talk presented a 12" with two artists doing one side each but it's time again.

Italian powerhouse Nico Lahs glides smoothly between labels like Delusions Of Grandeur, Adeen and Rawax, working with house royalty Chez Damier and keeps delivering top quality music.

A straight forward track that embraces loops and repetition with hints of HNNY's golden days.

The friendship between Sarah Jane Morris and Mario Biondi is the basis of this collaboration, born from the desire to pay homage to Roberta Flack. The idea, proposed by Sarah Jane, to reinterpret "Back Together Again" was born a few months before the death of the famous American singer. The original song, published in 1980 on the album "Roberta Flack Featuring Donny Hathaway", included the posthumous participation of Donny Hathaway, who died in 1979. Mario Biondi enthusiastically welcomed the proposal, and considering that the original song had a strong dance component, entrusted the production to Micky More & Andy Tee, one of the most important Soulful Disco House production teams on the contemporary world scene. The duo of DJs and producers from Ancona Italy have been at the top of the charts of digital dance stores for years. Quiet Village collaborate with Vanessa Daou on 'Naked Hunger’ Legendary New York artist and The Daou front-woman Vanessa Daou lends vocals to Matt 'Radio Slave' Edwards and Joel Martin's second release on the ‘The Quiet Village’ imprint. Matt ‘Radio Slave' Edwards and Joel Martin's critically acclaimed Quiet Village project follow-up, 2024's 'Reunion' with the Vanessa Daou collaboration, 'Naked Hunger' on September 5th, '25. 'Naked Hunger', which comes in 'Vocal Mix' and 'Spoken Word Mix' versions, sees Quiet Village employ their hypnotic sensibilities to one of house music's most tantalising vocal talents in Daou, resulting in a mid-tempo house cut that completely envelops. Laseech, a Croatian producer and Cosada label owner with releases on BBE, Lumberjacks In Hell, Red Ember Records, and Forbidden Dance, is continuing a string of excellent releases with Rising Soul. Known for his dedication to house music, Laseech has built an international reputation through collaborations and remixes with some of the genre's most respected architects, including Ron Trent, Patrice Scott, Javonntte, and Dego. "Rising Soul is actually one of the first tracks I did back in 2017 while I was heavily into sampling. I was jamming with my MPC1000, and Rising Soul came up. I never thought that it would become such an effective song that works on the dancefloor every time." Laseech explains. Kez YM, a highly respected Japanese producer and DJ, has been a key figure in the global house music scene for almost two decades. Originally from Chiba and now based in Berlin, his unique approach to house music has led to releases on esteemed labels such as City Fly, Faces Records, Yore, and 4Lux. When describing his version of the track, Kez simply stated: "VIBES." Well, no one will argue with that. The last version comes from Cycle Records' founder Jan Kincl, a prominent Croatian music producer and DJ with releases on labels like BBE, Far Out, Sonar Kollektiv, and Get Physical. "I've been playing Andrej's original for years. He undoubtedly made some good stuff recently, but this one remains among my firm favourites from him. Kez delivered a beautiful version that took it further towards jazz territory, so I decided to make a version that would bridge those two." Jan explains. "I knew we could build a very good record around Rising Soul, with versions that would give DJs different options for different moments during the party. I guess we did a good job because some of the early supporters include DJs from all over the place - Laurent Garnier, Alex Barck from Jazzanova, Marcel Dettmann, Alex Nut (Eglo), Sasse, Chicago's K' Alexi Shelby, Lakuti, Ian Friday and Truncate, among others.

Limited Orange Vinyl EP

Dallas Native Lance Desardi arrived in Los Angeles alongside his roommate JT Donaldson sometime around 1999. At that time I was the head buyer & managing L.A’s largest independent dance music shop in the heart of Hollywood “Beatnonstop” on Melrose Avenue. We had just put out a double pack vinyl on Beatnonstop and a single on PCH feat. Myself & Cpen on both.

Lance & J.T were introduced to me by Chris Penny aka CPen who was also a Dallas transplant to L.A and as chance would have it they were both looking for jobs. The two had been sojourning in Chicago for about two years under the tutelage of Spencer Kincy aka Gemini and the House Mayor of Chicago Derrick Carter.

I hired them both and we soon became fast friends. I would lend them pieces of gear and keyboards etc to work on projects and suddenly we had this little community of producers and artist’s working on beats, bringing them into the shop for “show & tell.”

This created a healthy atmosphere of us all pushing each other to make songs for the labels. This is one of the reasons Seductive, Pacific Coast House & Pacific Traxx etc were started to house the different projects and alias’s of us at that time.

One day Lance showed up to work at the shop beaming from ear to ear a some pep in his step. Him and another co-worker Jaime G had gone into the studio that week and banged out “Jazz Salad.”
As soon as Lance slipped in the DAT tape and the track came thundering through the speakers with Jaime’s deep Latin intro I knew it was going to be a big tune in the underground. Such a groove and so infectious it is undeniable even today 20 odd years
later.

So nice to see it back out on wax and not at the hefty discogs price tag of over a hundred quid! The flip side “Boing” is a deep late night groover that fits nicely into a Mark Farina style set with bonus beats to boot. Not to be missed. Classic.
