Kirk Degiorgio is becoming somewhat of a mainstay on the Belgian De:tuned label. Here he returns with 'The Unveiling'. The title track stands out with a classical synth progression and beautiful harmonies, resulting in an uplifting Detroit fused techno cut. 'Descent Module' takes you on a driving acidic trip and has all the characteristics of a hypnotic floater for the after-hours. On the flip you'll find two exclusive remixes from Kirk's 'Communion' album on De:tuned. Ian o'Brien showcases his vast musical talent and opens up his soul with a warm and lengthy retake of 'The Ladder'. Luke Slater debuts strongly on De:tuned and provides a rare The 7th Plain remix of 'Absorption Spectra'. Luke's take is a sentimental and lush ambient techno interpretation where its unique sound oscillates between a melancholic state of nostalgia and modern escapism.

Given his prolific, decades long-career, it’s little surprise that Kirk Degiorgio has more than a few lost musical surprises in his back-catalogue. ‘Sphere’, his new EP on Garage Hermétique, finds Degiorgio in his As One guise, delivering a lost classic on vinyl for the first time alongside a pair of rarities and a brand new mix by Detroit pioneer Juan Atkins.
Title track ‘Sphere’ - recently recovered from a 1995 DAT that was lost for years - finds the British producer turning in a track so deeply atmospheric and instantaneous, that it’s only testimony to his inherent skill that anyone would ‘lose’ such a number. Truly effective, sophisticated deep-house, it turns in a somewhat jazzy, Detroit-indebted melody to euphoric effect. ‘Perspective’, recorded in 1995, gets more soulful still, revealing a dewy-eyed, utopian landscape of pads and quietly emotional synth work. Rounding off the EP, 1994's ‘Asa Nisi Masa’, covers similarly evocative territory, expanded on in a more percussive remix by techno innovator & originator, Juan Atkins.
‘Sphere’ marks the fifth release for Garage Hermétique. Founded and curated by Brussels-born/Berlin-based musician and DJ Onirik, the label acts as an uncompromising outlet for both his own productions, his experimental Oni-Ki project alongside Brussels pianist, Minoki, and other like-minded producers. Garage Hermétique has also enlisted a string of established & highly regarded remixers, such as XDB, Nummer and Views.
A second 12" of As One rarities (featuring another brand new remix from an influential US producer) will be released on Garage Hermétique later this year.

Founded in 2009 by Ruben Boons and Bert Hermans, De:tuned and British influential electronic music pioneers The Future Sound Of London team up to mark the beginning of its momentous 15th anniversary.
The inimitable Future Sound Of London grace De:tuned with 'Pulse Five', the 5th installment and follow-up to the classic Pulse EP series. 'Pulse Five' contains 8 tracks of previously unreleased DAT tape material from the early 90s. These unheard vintage recordings date back to the era of FSOL's much sought after classic singles and highly acclaimed Accelerator album. Belgian independent label De:tuned celebrates 15 years with an expansive series of new releases throughout 2024. Founded in 2009 by Ruben Boons and Bert Hermans, De:tuned and British influential electronic music pioneers The Future Sound Of London team up to mark the beginning of its momentous 15th anniversary.
The inimitable Future Sound Of London grace De:tuned with 'Pulse Five', the 5th installment and follow-up to the classic Pulse EP series. 'Pulse Five' contains 8 tracks of previously unreleased DAT tape material from the early 90s. These unheard vintage recordings date back to the era of FSOL's much sought after classic singles and highly acclaimed Accelerator album. WRWTFWW Records is proud to present the first official worldwide reissue of the debut album from fabled Japanese folk singer-songwriter/actress/writer Hako Yamasaki, Tobimasu. The limited edition 180g vinyl LP comes in a heavy sleeve with the original artwork, and the digipack CD has one bonus track. Tobimasu is also available in digital formats.
Originally released in 1975 on legendary independent label Elec Records, Tobimasu is a masterpiece of melancholy carried by one of the most beautiful, moving, melodic, and haunting voices in the history of Japanese music. An extraordinary singer and guitar player, Hako Yamasaki wrote the album at only 18 years old, showing incredible emotional maturity and music making skills, and creating, out of nowhere, a downright classic of folk music, brilliantly arranged and sequenced.
Hako Yamasaki’s folk is bluesy, psychedelic, soft, and poetic, perfectly fitting the themes of nostalgia, love, and nature she covers with heartbreaking intensity. Her songs capture sorrow ravishingly, offering glimpses of empowering hope and uplifting wisdom. A unique voice, a unique approach, and nothing less than magnificent music.
Hako Yamasaki, a pioneer in both the creative boom and the rise of feminism in 1970s Japan, went on to release over thirty albums, building an impressive discography and a fascinating career filled with ups and downs. Her work, inimitable and timeless, deserves the utmost recognition and should be celebrated. Again and again and again.
Tobimasu is released in conjunction with Hako Yamasaki’s beautiful follow-up Tsunawatari, also available on WRWTFWW Records.
