Kirk Degiorgio is becoming somewhat of a mainstay on the Belgian De:tuned label. Here he returns with 'The Unveiling'. Given his prolific, decades long-career, it’s little surprise that Kirk Degiorgio has more than a few lost musical surprises in his back-catalogue. ‘Sphere’, his new EP on Garage Hermétique, finds Degiorgio in his As One guise, delivering a lost classic on vinyl for the first time alongside a pair of rarities and a brand new mix by Detroit pioneer Juan Atkins.
Title track ‘Sphere’ - recently recovered from a 1995 DAT that was lost for years - finds the British producer turning in a track so deeply atmospheric and instantaneous, that it’s only testimony to his inherent skill that anyone would ‘lose’ such a number. Truly effective, sophisticated deep-house, it turns in a somewhat jazzy, Detroit-indebted melody to euphoric effect. ‘Perspective’, recorded in 1995, gets more soulful still, revealing a dewy-eyed, utopian landscape of pads and quietly emotional synth work. Rounding off the EP, 1994's ‘Asa Nisi Masa’, covers similarly evocative territory, expanded on in a more percussive remix by techno innovator & originator, Juan Atkins.

Founded and curated by Brussels-born/Berlin-based musician and DJ Onirik, the label acts as an uncompromising outlet for both his own productions, his experimental Oni-Ki project alongside Brussels pianist, Minoki, and other like-minded producers. Garage Hermétique has also enlisted a string of established & highly regarded remixers, such as XDB, Nummer and Views.
A second 12" of As One rarities (featuring another brand new remix from an influential US producer) will be released on Garage Hermétique later this year.

Here, Massey and Dougans channel that legacy into a beautifully balanced four-track EP that radiates warmth and energy, drawing on more than three decades of experience in electronic music. Inspired by key elements of the '89-91 era while embracing a contemporary edge, the duo merge their distinct sonic identities into a sound that feels both timeless and forward-looking.

During the first years of De:tuned, Robert Leiner (aka The Source Experience) played a vital part in kick-starting the label. He also graced the De:tuned parties with his outstanding dj sets and captivating live acts.
Continuing the label's 15th anniversary celebrations, De:tuned and Robert Leiner mark the occasion with an extraordinary collection of mostly hardware productions recorded between 2005 and 2015. These diverse jams have now been mixed and completed for this momentous milestone.
