Tim Green returns to Cocoon with his atmospheric and emotive album titled 'Her Future Ghost'. Surprisingly, after all this time, this is his first ever album in his career. An 11-track production following the producer's recent vinyl EP titled 'Echo / They Want Us To Fall Down.'

Embracing the album format's full potential, Tim Green's 'Her Future Ghost' is effectively composed similarly to an electronic romantic film soundtrack:
"My concept and direction for "Her Future Ghost" was to write a film score for a film that doesn't actually exist." says Tim. "As an avid film score lover, I wanted to create a body of work that took certain traits from common film score practices. For example different themes that repeat throughout, like character themes that evolve and mutate. As well as a narrative and story that develops through the music. In my mind the story is set in the future, based around 2 people, a couple. It based on another planet, a planet so distorted and corrupted in comparison to the world we know now. Essentially they are trying to flee and stay alive in a future society where it is impossible to stay under the radar, where they have to go to extreme lengths not be caught and put into the same system and society as everyone else on this planet."
The album concept was further influenced by the work of Ahmed Emad Eldin, an Egyptian digital artist who is best known for his design on Pink Floyd's 2014 album 'The Endless River'. Tim reached out personally to the artist, and the two collaborated on the cover art for 'Her Future Ghost' - making this an even more cohesively creative, tailor-made release.
Tim first made his production debut on four:twenty in 2006, going on to release on Dirtybird and Get Physical, before Cocoon tapped the young producer for his first EP on the label in 2011. Whilst the prolific studio head has continued to experiment on other respected labels such as Lee Burridge's Get Weird label and Cityfox, Cocoon and Sven Vath have helped Tim's productions reach the biggest dancefloors in Ibiza and across the globe - so it's fitting he returns to this dance institution for his debut album.
A fiery live DJ, Green has been tapped by Sven Vath to play at Cocoon events around the globe (Amnesia Ibiza, Dockyard Festival, Mysteryland, Parookaville, off Sonar showcase at Pacha Barcelona) as well as solo at some of the world's most respected clubs; Panorama Bar, WOMB Tokyo, Fabric London and Rex in Paris to name just a few.
Whilst Tim Green's prowess at moving dancefloors was never in question, the release of 'Her Future Ghost' shows the talented producer spreading his wings and pushing himself to fulfill his creative potential - this is just the beginning of a new and exciting chapter of Green's career.

Tim Green is back with another brace of high impact club tunes of the sort that have made him one of the most in demand producers of the day. Whether serving up rolling techno treats for Cocoon, essential mixes for the Body Language series on Get Physical or laying down compelling club sets in the DJ booth, Brit Tim Green is unstoppable right now. Here he steps up to the Get Weird imprint with two more tantalising cuts that show just how broad and brilliant an artist he is. Stirring opener ‘For A Memory’ is eleven minutes of wordless and intoxicating female vocals, slick rubbery drums and plunging bass. The overall effect is hypnotic, rolling and perfectly groovy, and it will no doubt have whole dancefloors locked under its spell. Some little melodic explosions, sweeping filters and luscious pads all help add a real air of grace to proceedings that mark it out as another classic from Green. ‘For A Distant Memory’ is a subtle but noteworthy reworking of the same cut. In this one, the drums are less direct and more stripped back, there is a focus on the angelic, glowing pads and on spine tingling slices of synth that are reflective and emotive as they drop in and out. It is a perfectly trance inducing, heart warming cut that the likes of Lee Burridge at his All Day I Dream parties, or various DJs playing on a sun kissed terrace around the globe, will all lap right up.

He has always offered up a genuinely varied and compelling sound that is truly devastating on the floor and these two tracks both prove that once again.
Up first is Green's own fantastic original, 'Only Time Remains.' It finds the artist is melodic mood, with his seductive, rolling beats all overlaid with churchy chords and grand atmospheres that really are epic and absorbing. The bass, too, is big and bold and angelic vocals lend a hypnotic feel to the irresistible groove.
The remix of Junge Junge's 'Beautiful Girl' featuring Kyle Pearce shows Green adding his own unique flavours to the track. The result is a tantalising nine minute affair that slowly unfolds and sucks you deep into Green's spacious and grand world of smeared pads, tender melodies and subtly rising vocals that are emotive, dreamy and spaced out.
This is a great showcase of Green's skills and a fine taster of the full compilation that is to come.

This means that Green is one of the few artists that reflects the sound of the label like only a few out others there: Minimal Techno with the right amount of energy but not too cold and spiced up with fat basslines and manic synths to burn down every floor, that is Mr. Green in full effect! London based Green seems to be the master of that typical sound we are focusing at. His top notch musical output is full of energy and features colourful melodies and sounds. He composes like a painter paints, layer by layer and all on a solid and perfect base. Green creates his tunes with a big musical potential but manages it to keep the balance right without being too melodic or even over intelectual. His acoustic paintings are fat and they appear heavy and perfectly designed. They communicate straight and clear. Green is the fighter against simple and boring loop arrangements with dodgy one note basslines. His music is food for dancers and listeners at the same time - and both in perfection. Greens new release for Cocoon is no exception to this and follows that formular: "Eclipse" and "Thieves" are big productions with massive melody parts packed in a minimal cover. His beats and bass-programing are on spot and make his composition complete. This ep appears super heavy and colourful and just perfect. This is the right sound for all those upcoming open air festivals, hedonistic music in a sentimental mood that just makes us wanna dance - bring it on Mr. Green!

His new Cocoon production will be his third one for us which almost makes us his new musical homebase. With "Don't Like Me" Tim Green presents almost a collage of the current sound of Cocoon Recordings. After generating a serious amount of hype back in his breakthrough year of 2010 when taste making were falling over themselves to tip him for big things Tim Green has gone on to forge a reputation as one of the most innovative producers in the scene today with a series of productions that have propelled him into the upper ranks of the techno hierarchy. Billed as being" neoteric in concept", the idea behind the new label is to provide an exciting platform from which Tim will unleash some of his most colourful musical creations, and afford him the opportunity to be considerably more diverse in his musical output, showcasing a meticulously curated selection of work from up-and-comers and, of course, his peers. 25-year-old Tim Green from the South of England is well-known to the attentive observer of the electronic dance music scene: Besides releases on Get Physical, Trapez and Four:Twenty Recordings, he also gained a lot of attention with his contributions to the third Cocoon 10" vinyl ("Lone Rider") and the Cocoon Compilation I ("Exercise"). On his debut EP, Green presents the whole stylistic bandwidth that modern floorfillers can have. For almost ten minutes, "Lemon" oscillates between a full frontal percussion assault, fragmented Deep House vocals and Detroit-influenced harmonies, consequently setting the signs to 'summer'. The first track on the flipside, "Jimmy Rave Up", is a dark and pushing runner that impressively proves Green's wealth of variants once again. The trio is completed by "Dodjo", a track that forms a more than pleasing intersection between tropic Calypso sounds and machine-like strictness - an unforgettable track that will echo long after the year 2011, promised!

Powel returns to All Day I Dream to release his newest celestial sonic masterpiece, the Piano Reeves EP. Enter the ethereal sonic realm of Paul Chriske, the German musical maestro known as Powel, who specializes in “creating harmonious illusions of sound.” Powel is a longtime family member of Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream imprint, having first released on the label in 2015. Releasing his four track Piano Reeves EP on May 19, Powel returns to All Day I Dream to release his first record with the label since his The Beauty of a Polaroid album in 2020. A pianist since youth, Powel's extensive experiences from a lifetime of performing with bands and orchestras has imbued his music with depth and complexity. Finding inspiration in the people and places he encounters on his travels, Powel draws from a vast and nuanced musical palette. Following a massive 2022 which saw releases on three of Lee Burridge’s labels - All Day I Dream, TRYBESof and Tale & Tone - Jim Rider continues to build momentum, releasing his Two More Days EP. This EP showcases Jim’s expertise in crafting uplifting melodies across the four original tracks. Inspired by a two day long train journey across the United States, the EP’s title track is a lengthy journey through multiple soundscapes. The track features dreamy synth notes, arps, and a wide variety of percussive elements- sounds which were staples of Jim’s DJ sets this past year.

I had hair at the time! Dread-Locs down to my shoulders... I was still rockin’ the Wallabees, or British Walkers as we called them - representing for Brooklyn and my West Indian roots! There was no social media, no supervision, nobody all up in our business… It was classic "mind your own business" NYC Vibes! I was DJing at a lot of the hot clubs and THE hottest afterhours in the city. There were nights when I saw Micheal Douglas roll into the afters with Grace Jones - they were there to party and unwind and I was there dropping the dope tracks for the people.When it was studio time, with my homie Matt Echols...I was probably setting things off with some quality herbage, a big ass bag of Funyuns and my trusty SP-1200, lol. I had picked up some tips and tricks from Todd Terry and by '96-'97 I was a Shaolin with it myself! This was around the time tracks like "Flowers" and "Only Love Can Break Your Heart (Dub)" were tearing up the clubs. I wanted to be able to get my ideas out with no problem, and by then I had a lot of confidence...Being able to Dj in some of the hottest NY hot spots at the time, I was able to really see what worked and what didn't on the dancefloor. The best House Dancers from around the world and around the Tri-State area would be at my jams. I'm talking Ejoe, Voodoo Ray, maybe kids from the Mop-Top Crew... I was definitely taking note of the kind of rhythms and sounds that would make them go crazy on the dancefloor!And that's how we went about it - I laid down the rhythms that made it happen in my sets and translated the vibes I was picking up from NYC itself. Matt threw down musically and we were just being as creative and inventive as possible! But we always kept in mind that our job was to make the people on the dancefloor jump!

Astral travel with Cybotron into the meta-narrative of the Parallel Shift, a new sonic fiction that raises many questions about military science of the near-future and the possibility of other worlds.
Descending backward through the rhythms of time, the Skynet module retracts from the hyper-structural society of 2100, edging toward the mid-century modern age teetering on the brink of what was then the frontier of “the future”. The system boots the Infiniti process, morphing into a cosmotechnic vessel coursing the superhighway of burgeoning general intelligence, seeking data from just before “the overshoot and collapse.”
R&D methods, rhythmanalytically applied, dissect the aftermath of an industrial society that burst through the ecological capacity of Spaceship Earth. Fractal visions of war and innovation spike and recede from and into the surfaces of reality being bent and guiding the eyes, ears, touch towards a laboratory in the year 1961. A nuclear expert, Don Lewis, receives orders to decrypt the mysterious black dodecagonal disc known as Fortec and the extraterrestrial biology unearthed in Roswell. He joins a team disassembling Fortec and studying the recurrent dodecahedral patterns linked to the human nervous system.
Through dismantling and probing, the team cycles through a saecular search devoid of finite conclusions, limited by Earth’s intellectual and technological prowess. One 1960s night, Lewis, while meddling with Fortec’s cyborganic innards, accidentally electrifies himself. His cyclotron and missile experience guides him to circuit-bend Fortec, stirring the entity from a mechanical slumber. Lewis and Fortec communicate in resonances, until it drifts back into a tranquil stasis.
The US Defense and contractors, unbeknownst to them, observe this breakthrough. They later permit Lewis to exit military service as the Air Force forms the Foreign Technology Division. Concurrently, MJ12 evolves into CY12, delving into second-order cybernetics. Lewis clandestinely keeps working on Fortec fragments, transitioning from military engineer to musician, pioneering the LEO module, a fusion of Fortec’s essence and audio engineering.
He shares his insights with Roland founder Ikutaro Kakehashi, aiding the creation of the iconic TR-808. Meanwhile, Fortec branches out, coining “Cyberspace” – a collective illusion of liberty unshackled by physical, political, or spiritual bounds, anchored in the equitable distribution of The Golden Ratio across realities. Pampa is a new label from old pals DJ Koze and Marcus Fink, dedicated to releasing club music that's seriously danceable without recourse to the tried and tested ingredients. A home for house and techno tunes that will conquer hearts and take root there forever, music that's brave and not afraid to break with convention. The first release is by Die Vogel, a collaborative project between Jakobus Siebels and Mense Reents. Jakobus is an innovative multi-instrumentalist who has previously recorded distinctive albums for Tomlab, Chicks On Speed Records, Karaoke Kalk; the no less talented Reents is a member of the groups Egoexpress, Die Goldenen Zitronen and Stella, and operates the Art Blakey Studios in Hamburg where this EP was recorded. Listening to A-side 'Blaue Moschee' you immediately know this going to be a strange and wonderful trip: oompa-style brass looped and layered over a stripped-back kickdrum, this tunes messes with all received notions of what house/techno music is! With a musicality and wicked sense of humour that naturally appealed to Koze and Fink, Siebels and Reents have created a timeless dancefloor banger using the most unlikely of elements. The result definitely isn't "jazzy techno" - the brass, far from being an afterthought, it's the very substance of the thing; it provides the melody, the bass, and the rhythm. Brass is the driving force behind the whole EP. B1, 'Petardo', is likewise driven by growling trombones and tubas, this time offset by cooing woodwind and set to a rolling, almost tribal drum tattoo. The horn chords are reminiscent of moody 60s British jazz, while the woodwind lends a South American fire and flair to proceedings. The track is full of subtle edits, but Siebels and Reents don't overwhelm the mix with synthesized sounds, instead letting the acoustic instruments speak for themselves. Closer 'Empire' again finds exquisitely arranged brass parts interlocking into a tough, single-minded groove, underscored with a skippy, broken 4/4 pulse and handclaps. Often when a new label claims to be taking risks and trying something new, the truth is rather less remarkable. Not in this case: Siebels and Reent have created a terrifically original, inimitable trio of tracks that combine the pop and the avant-garde, the cerebral and the physical, to absolutely stunning effect. It might be unusual and it might be clever, but it's still dance music pure and simple. magic!
