Ovum Recordings kicked off the 20th Anniversary with a stunning release from Chymera. After the melodic Chymera, we are taking you back to the darker side of techno with the follow up EP from Steve Parker. Steve Parker's debut Innerstate EP topped the beatport charts and was one of the biggest techno releases of 2011. He has not dissapointed with his Sugar High EP, bringing you a diverse three track EP that will devistate dance floors around the globe. Over the last few years Steve's productions have seem him become a regular in the record boxes of the world's best. Outside of his release on Ovum, his work for labels including Quartz Music, Spark , Synewave and SCI+TEC have established him as one of the most in demand DJ/Producers of his home nation or Portugal. His deep and hypnotic sound, combining groove-heavy rhythms with a minimal-tech production style, sees Steve able to move effortlessly from sultry warm basement sounds to full on vicious arena moments. His follow up three track selection for Ovum Recordings doesn't disappoint. Having been throughly road-tested by Mr Wink, the "Sugar High" EP provides the perfect example of Parker's talent. Lead cut "Sugar High" is a moody builder that teases with tension, always teetering on the edge of boiling point. "System 22" is a more straight ahead gritty and jacking techno workout that twists and turns, but always retains the groove. The final track "Konduktor" returns the calm with its wonderful warm depth and grooves. Welcome back Mr. Parker!

Its been a summer of glorious House Music for Ovum Recordings, but those of you more tempted by the darker arts will be happy to find that label chief Josh Wink has chosen to heat up our winter months with a return to Techno with a label debut from Portugal's, Steve Parker.
Over the last few years Steve's productions have seem him become a regular in the record boxes of the world's best. His work for labels including Quartz Music, Harthouse, Synewave and SCI+TEC have established him as one of the most in demand DJ/Producers of his home nation.
His deep and hypnotic sound, combining groove-heavy rhythms with a minimal-tech production style, sees Steve able to move effortlessly from sultry warm basement sounds to full on vicious arena moments. His debut three track selection for Ovum Recordings sees Steve realise a dream, to release on the label that has inspired him since his youth. Having been throughly road-tested by Mr Wink, the "Escuro" EP provides the perfect example of Parker's talent. Lead cut "Interstate" is a moody relentless number. Always teetering on the edge of boiling point. "Bodytrade" sees things bubble over. A romping heads-down groove. The title track "Escuro" returns the calm with its wonderful warm depth. Its been nearly four years since Marc Romboy's last appearance on Ovum, alongside Tyree Cooper on the mighty "Lost." Today sees a return for the German as he teams up with another of the labels' new breed, KiNK. Bulgarian Strahil Velchev makes a return to Ovum for the first time since his 2010 "Rachel EP" shot him onto the scene. The success of that release and his array of productions since, have lead to KiNK becoming one of the most in demand producers of today. Equally in demand is Mr Romboy, with 2011 being yet another year of success. His and Stephan Bodzin's "Luna" album kicked off the year in style and saw the pair embark on a huge global tour. Singles and remixes for Tronic, Bedrock and 8Bit have followed as well as productions with Blake Baxter and Paris The Black Fu. Marc has also surprised many, with his superb current house rework of Terrence Parker. The "Sampletastics Vol. 1" ep sees the pair turn in three choice cuts of, as the name suggests, sample-lead House. A perfect selection of tools for the most discerning of DJ's. Take your pick!
