Ike Release - Leisure Devices
BLIQ's latest instalment is by prolific Chicago artist Ike Release & long-standing label friend Iron Curtis on the remix duties. "111118 & Wmpwmp" are hardware driven, pitched-down jungle juxtapositions, instilled with soul. On the flip, Signal 2 Signal Remix by Iron Curtis on "Leisure Devices" triggers an electrified excursion into the old school, with the original score laying an immersive experience with emotions powered by the machines.

A few years ago, Ike Release was Chicago’s loss and Brooklyn’s gain. He’s already had releases on stellar labels such as Finale Sessions, Mister Saturday Night, and loads more.
Once in Brooklyn, he met Nathaniel Jay of Love Notes (from Brooklyn) and a plan was formed. Being a producer unwilling to be confined to one sound, Ike switches styles naturally and with great ease, and he’s got his Deep, Spacey House tools out for this EP, which of course is the now signature sound of Jay’s Love Notes. A 100% Brooklyn product, through and through.

Aphelion - What You Want
BLIQ unveil a debut release by Greek producer Aphelion aka George Konstantoulakis (member of Equations Collective). "Volatile Radiance" sets the pace with otherworldly futurism, while "Cosmic Vibrations" completes the A-side with addictive bass notes & crystallised melodics. On the flip, legendary electro producer Silicon Scally (Carl Finlow) follows a menacing cyberfunk route, while Aphelion's original, concludes the release with an interplanetary rhythm track interpretation.

DJ Loser kicks off his vinyl debut with "Your eyes were telling me that you really cared", a soothing and sun-bleached late night downbeat driver, which gives way to A2's "Untitled" menacing and jacking tone that is sure to bang the dingiest of darkrooms. B1's "I've got dis (but I can't do it)" is a bona fide slammer made to liquify whatever is left of one's mind way past the midnight hour, while Seixlack's rendition of the latter brings more paranoid and percussive-led assaults to the table.

Basic Spirit welcomes the first out-of-house artist to the label, our dear friend Fantastic Man. A household name at this point, FM hedges the Basic Spirit catalogue into a deeper, more euphoric territory, with four tracks that quite frankly melted our hearts and minds when we heard them. It's a big heads-down record, which gets a big thumbs up from us. More
