Following seminal releases on Novi Svijet, Veyl and Live Adult Entertainment, DJ Loser makes his Forbidden Planet debut with "Illusion Hunt" an album of killer rave, trance and techno cuts in his signature style.
Based in Thessaloniki, Greece, Dj Loser has had a significant impact on the international underground scene as a key figure in the modern revival of a darker, more hardcore techno sound. Unsurprisingly, his releases on Live Adult Entertainment are almost impossible to get your hands on.
The album itself features nine tracks which range from jacking trance & techno (e.g. Bad Standard, End of Hypnosis) to hip-hop/dnb inspired cuts (Illusion Hunt) and even ethereal soundscapes (Godknights Stigma, Synethesia Symptom).

"Volatile Radiance" sets the pace with otherworldly futurism, while "Cosmic Vibrations" completes the A-side with addictive bass notes & crystallised melodics. Bliq are proud to present Bliq05: Nicuri’s Paradigms fresh out of Union City, NY. The Paradigms of which Nicuri speaks are darkness, deliverance and determination, modal expressions delivered on three cuts of resonant electronic music. On ‘Doldrums’ Nicuri plays with paradox, combining staggered, dreamy synths with unnerving bass rumbles. To reinvigorate the Doldrums, or as he puts it ‘Replenish the Earth’, the producer implements a menacing analog rumble in the style of New York greats DJ Qu and Joey Anderson. But to ensure that the ground is re-imbued with rational vitality, Nicuri adds a layer of baroscopic viscosity: smog surrounds and engulfs, a suppressed vocal intermittently choking. On the flip, Parrish Adams – aka Intrinsic of Emphasis Records in Chicago – gives the Earth an even harder, more insistent techno edge. He introduces melodic light flashes at the edges of urban darkness, and rumbles it like a train escaping Grand Central Station. Bliq05 is on the run.

From the start of this debut release from Amsterdam-based Lapien, one conceives that the young producer is conscientious. ‘Anvers’, the French name for Belgian port Antwerp, starts in unassuming manner, synths swimming, bass pondering, a gentle cymbal tapping. It’s the sound of thoughtful admiration, as if Lapien is standing in front of the city’s towering gothic cathedral, motionless in the midst of a now modern metropolis.
But then, as loops spring uncomfortably back and an insistent beat thunders into the fray, one realizes that this is no time for admiring architecture; this is a night drive through the city – coarse orange streetlamps, chrome blue reflections, droplet-stained window panes. It is, also, at an unusually and unsettlingly fast pace, dragging its deeper house timbres and textures upwards. Conforce’s mix is anything but restful: alarms in the distance fall around offbeat rhythms of increasingly diverse dynamics, bringing rain down on the city at night. To end, Fred P’s composition is heavy & uncompromising; yet it quivers with synths washed in beautiful, calming ambience.
