We are back with an artist whose tracks you’ve been hearing in the sets of the most free spirited and forward thinking DJs: None other than Bufiman has joined the catalog of Cómeme with a fantastic release: original,modern, and irresistibly danceable. 5 tracks featuring B- Boy Rhythms, outer space fantasy and dance floor utopia – in a way you’ve never heard this exceptional artist before. Since 15 years he’s a resident at Düsseldorf’s legendary “Salon des Amateurs” and has released on other wonderful labels such as Versatile,Safe Trip Records, Dekmantel Records and Fasaan Recordings – and under his other alias “Wolf Müller” on Themes for Great Cities, Growing Bin Records and International Feel. Due to living in a small flat with too many neighbors, childhood Jan could not pursue his dream of playing the drums, so he started to work with drum breaks on a program on Windows 95. Since around 25 years he’s now collecting drum samples, however you won’t hear any of these on this record. During the pandemic, Bufiman had to change his approach. Unable to work, due to the ban of all dance events he found a job opportunity as a night shift caregiver in a small town near Düsseldorf. This meant that he had to sit in a bus for at least three hours a day. To kill time somehow, he took out his Nintendo Switch portable game console and stumbled across Korg Gadget: a modern music program that he never particularly liked.The many hours on the back seats of the bus changed his relationship with the app as it was his only way of shortening the hours of commuting. The “Switch Beats” EP is the result of this particular time in his life, and once again we see that marvelous things can happen, when your ways of creating are challenged in an unprecedented manner. “A Cómeme classic that was ahead of its time finds a new life in fresh mixes by Matias Aguayo and Ricardo Villalobos” In a surprising turn of events Cómeme reissues Matias Aguayo’s “El Camarón” from his album “The Visitor” (2013) in a new 12” extended club mix including a remix of none other than Ricardo Villalobos. The latter suggested to give this forgotten latin new beat gem a new life! He had recently rediscovered it, and added to his sets - including his own 12 minute fabulous remix, which is driven by a mesmerizing groove and pumpin sub bass frequencies. Aguayo then decided to also rework “El Camarón” with an extended soundsystem - friendly mix, that will move the feet of dance music lovers from all kind of biospheres! The lyrics tell the story of an old river shrimp that accidentally joins a boat party. The ball starts in the guaraní jungle to later continue along the ivory coast, featuring super colour range towels, buzzing mosquitos, monkeys, parrots, piranhas, mermaids, and more. She’s resident at the legendary Bar Kitchener’s all femme “Pussy Party”, a space for feminist / queer action and dancefloor joy, right in the centre of Joburg. Cómeme has been since some time in a serious and passionate relationship with that city. Radio Cómeme transmitted shows from there with electronica legend Felix Laband, Mpumelelo Mkatha from BLK JKS, the queer performance duo Faka, Gqom pioneers RudeBoyz and also Kwaito’s legacy keeper Spleef McZaul. Since the beginning of Co´meme, until today we feel a connection to the electronic beats from South Africa. Co´meme tracks like "Pata pata", "Osea... Hello?", "El Sucu Tucu" and many more prove this, and one main inspiration, is DJ Spoko, partner of DJ Mujava, for whom he wrote and produced the legendary "Township Funk".
But also in Joburg, and without our knowledge, Co´meme tunes were dropped at some of the coolest parties in town, so Matias Aguayo aka The Don jumped of joy when he was invited to play there, where he met Spoko and started to jam with him in a studio in the center of Joburg!
