Aleqs Notal - Nature Of Offences
Tracklist 12":
A1 Supply Shuttle
A2 Airlock Nation
B1 A Walk Thru The 20th
B2 Nature Of Offences
Earthy bounces, sharp rhythmics and erased boundaries between deep and house in the fifth release from Forbidden Dance Rec. signed by the french virtuoso - Aleqs Notal.
With a tribalistic percussion launch into a warm and silky bassline, Supply Shuttle spins the dice on the deep house edges through linear but meticulous patterns of synth simplicity. The scarcity of snares puts the track just enough into the dance-floor realm but still exquisite enough for sun-drenched coast places especially with that subtle rhodes washing over the faint 303 shots in the background. Notal pulled a smooth move here further erasing the faint border between the two genres. And yes, sometimes the border gets pushed more into one over the other. Such is the case with Airlock Nation, clearly showing this imbalance in the most pleasurable way. With a straightforward shake onset floating on a solid rhythm throughout the ride, the track leans more on the floor side covering the early night with subtle and warm darkness step by step. The midnight glow emitting from the melodies is beautifully cocooned into deep sway smudged by ritual bongo hits. The track exports a sentiment of nostalgia in a positive and warm way while cleverly pushing the vibe over the mentioned border into a night dance. A Walk Thru The 20th continues this sway but implements a synth carrier into the foreground further developing the club feel. And this is where Notal shines truly because even in this kind of atmosphere he almost unnoticeably lays the track on perfectly fitting tribal shoulders stamping the core of the track with earth-grounding charisma. Both audio worlds, one audio shine. And still, on the other side of the playfield, Nature Of Offences is grounded heavily in slow and throbbing kicks paralleled with equally heavy claps and constant interchange of beautiful pads, strings and percussions. Although the track is stirred with a filtered 303 bassline, the overall feel points into a deep and seductive zone. It flows subtly through different areas of analogue and synthetic forms spewing a late 90s warm-up feel. Well rounded release from Aleqs Notal! More

Aleqs Notal - Hymn Of Passion
ONE LEVEL is delighted to announce its latest release, the captivating 'Big Tal's Elements' EP by French DJ/Producer, ALEQS NOTAL. Following the resounding success of One Level's debut release, the awe-inspiring Afro-futurism of Hagan's 'Forward Focus' EP - a production that ignited a dynamic and fruitful chapter for the London-based artist - the label has been meticulously crafting its return. One Level prides itself on championing quality over quantity, and this ethos is beautifully demonstrated in its second release... Aleqs Notal, the former scratch champion and consistently evolving producer, joins the label family with a collection of four remarkable tracks. Despite his years of experience, Aleqs admits that he's still in the process of refining his own sound and with 'Big Tal's Elements’, a nickname affectionately bestowed by longtime friend and fellow artist Manaré, his four carefully curated house joints encapsulate a wealth of influences, all beautifully combining to create a modern and innovative soundtrack. Following his early years of turntable virtuosity, and having embarked on a new creative chapter in the studio, it was 2014 and as a founding member of the innovative ClekClekBoom collective - a group of young French talents who spearheaded a groundbreaking movement that reshaped the Parisian electronic landscape - that saw Notal continue to cultivate his own sound, one rooted in the sounds of Detroit and Chicago. He became a respected DJ on the cities’ club circuit, and has gone on ttener.

Aleqs Notal is a dj and producer from Paris influenced by many styles of soulful music going from jazz to soul to disco and more. His productions are combining Detroit and Chicago sounds with a certain approach and fascination for percussions. His style is subtle, deep, intense and soulful. Besides becoming one of the most promising artist in the electronic dance music scene, Aleqs dj skills are just amazing so catch him playing in the most famous clubs worldwide. After releasing on the US Finale Session label in 2016, Aleqs released one of his best work to date “Ascending Nodes “in early 2017 on Patrice’s Scott Detroit label Sistrum. When we heard this EP, we fell in love with his sound and ask him if he wanted to join the Visions stable. The result is here and we LOVE it. Here you will get one track per side to get the maximum sound quality and space. Enjoy On the A side DOIN’IT is taking you into a journey into deepness , a spontaneous continuity of his latest work on Sistrum and ”Paris Lagos “ with percussions, moog bass sounds, deep kik drum, pads – strings and subtle drum programming.A wonderful groove that makes you wanna dance and let go fully J And on The B side it’s another killer number, so deep so profound so groovy it almost hurts J . Listen and dive into it

Laseech feat. Desney Bailey - You See feat. Desney Bailey
After six illustrious vinyl releases behind them, Forbidden Dance takes this one deeply close to home. As a rising house name from Croatia, Laseech signs this harmonic and creamy house release iced with stellar vocals by Desney Bailey and backed up by two of the house heavyweights – Dego and Patrice Scott.
A1 The title track “Hey Love” is packed with effortless deepness in and out topped with smooth Bailey’s vocals dancing elegantly over chords and strings. Dazzling tuneage that resembles airy summer jam at your favourite beach spot.
A2 Dego is a man with a thousand sounds. And all of them are rich and impressive. His disco-funk spin on “Hey Love” is ploughed with heavy synths and sharp drums that culminate with a lush keyboard frenzy in the end.
B1 Patrice Scott’s ability to infuse introspective soul into machine sound is second to none. “Hey Love” goes through melodic morphosis which Patrice delivers so smoothly and tinges it with floor-oriented moves.
B2 Bailey’s vocals are the soul carrier of this release and it shows pretty much on “You See”. Hazy and melancholic, the track slowly burns under her looped vocals. Stripped, heart-aching and beautifully dimmed. More

The Forbidden Dance label is marking their first year of existence and with already top-notch names (Vick Lavender, Alton Miller, The Mechanical Man) with the first three releases, they are celebrating the one year mark with another global gem, disco and house finest - Ilija Rudman!
Where Wild Horses Go is conveying an unquestionable sense of 80's electro and synth boogie filled with smooth and heavily reverberated rhythmics drenched in strong snares. Aligned with catchy and spaced-out disco pads, the album is riddled with ever strong analogue elements processed in a light, quirky and summerish way but with enough groove in some tracks easily applicable on the dancefloors in the late hours.
Dead Horse Gang is a brainchild music band/brand by Ilija Rudman dedicated to cinematic dance concept laying on the Los Angeles funk attitude, Art Of Noise perception of sound and raw 12-bit grooves making a statement of mid 80's culture with surf vibe of California summer.
"Dead Horse Gang Music is more than music, it's a way of life, a way of thinking, a path to a maximum freedom of the one, who can accept it."

The Mechanical Man - Take Her In Your Arms
180 grams 12" Vinyl with Download Code. Expanding their rich sound palette Forbidden Dance moves on to the next plateau with their third release. After releasing two legends Alton Miller and Vick Lavender, new EP is signed by a young and sound broad producer from Naples - The Mechanical Man. Drawing influences from the sound of Chicago, Philadelphia and Motor City he achieved to catch the multi essence of the house sound into a four-track journey marked with slow and fast-paced soulful corners dominated by toned vocals and stripped-down beats all the way to the underexposed lounge sections and playful intermissions.
Drum programming is a strong point for The Mechanical Man and it can be clearly heard in "A1 - The Streets Of Revelation". Infused with most probably vintage Linn Drum hits, the track intertwines numerous elements in a hoppy and gentle swirl riding on double vocals. Everything takes a full sonic conclusion in the third quarter when the main synth starts to breathe fully.
Residing on almost the same rhythm hits, "A2 - I Keep Thinking" is more of a deep dive into love dreams. Emotional and subtle pads and chords progression are really felt here as the track rubs under soft vocals in need of a response.
The light essence is captured on "B1 - What Your Eyes Don't See". While the delayed vocals are cutting the motion and the rhythm is rougher, it still manages to keep the terrace vibe movement. Rhode-like section carries the track all the way with occasionally reduced percussion hits spicing up the background.
On the other note, "B2 - Take Her In Your Arms" is a gentle dance of maracas and rhodes. The acoustic bass is quite seductive and inviting whilst flutes and other elements riddle the track with a toned-down lounge feel and sway into hypnotic slow-motion.
Diverse, rich and enchanting tunes by The Mechanical Man!

The first instalment of the Forbidden Dance label is an organic brew of musicianship supervised by one of the Chicago deep house scene pillars - Vick Lavender. Three warm cuts are tinted with a jam feel showing Lavenders well-known ability to gather a different kind of music players and vocalists resulting in a soulful sections that are cleverly breaking the usual and linear electronic music mould. That's pretty obvious on 'Habanos', the opener track which fluently combines multi-layers of piano and synth sections in contrast to tribal rhythmics and flowy marimba background. With Yvette Magallon pouring pure honey with vocal inserts it's a never-stopping dance of the soul elements. Lavender manages to keep the same feel on the B side as well, with 'The Definition' track going off a bit more subtle but at the same time showing a funky edge with a playful bassline. Reverbed percussive lushness and diverse synth teasers are tinting the track with a summer night breeze, something your hips would move to. 'NiteFlye Jessie's Journey' is a closing track and a slow-burner riddled with spacey explorations of the keyboard. It gives almost 80's like feel beautifully integrating subtle synth envelopes and even marimba bits. A perfect deep rounder of this musically rich release. Hats off Mr Lavender! More

Alton Miller - After The Rain
Smoothly combining his tendencies towards emotional and soulful deep house whilst building these elements on a steady foundation of tribal, percussive and dance rhythms, Miller manages to effortlessly pull you into his house sound with an impressive palette of ideas even if it's just one 4 track EP.
A1 - All We Have is a dancefloor inspired jam, but don't get fooled. The track is infused with a ot of deep juice and it drips irresistibly through the synths, short but smooth bassline and percussive foreplay of different drum elements. Playful yet with enough momentum to wiggle you in a positive dance sway.
A2 - Shine On Me (Rollin To Detroit Mix), the track which was initially released for Moodyman's KDJ Records back in 2002, got "revised" by Ricardo Miranda shows off perfectly the emotional substance of Miller's deep vocal house interpretation with silky percussive lines in between.
B1 - Headspace is the pure example of a perfect B-side cut. Slow-burning rhythm filled with organic perc stabs and dense but deep bassline, Miller again in a genius way intertwines slow emotional story backed by almost raw harmonics but nevertheless well explained Detroit vibe.
B2 - After The Rain, which can be heard on Alton's "Souls Like Mine" album released on the forementioned The Music Institute as a bonus cut. It's a slow dance between reemerging basslinand subtle synth lines flowing on offset claps and smooth background bongos. pretty timeless stuff if the atmosphere is dimmed right.
yes, this is Headspace EP.

Info
We Release Jazz is ecstatic (purrrr!) to announce the official reissue of Hiroshi Suzuki's glorious jazz-fusion-funk Holy Grail Cat (originally released in 1976), sourced from the original masters and available on limited edition 180 gram vinyl mastered at half speed for full audiophile sound, as well as on digipack CD. Both versions come with liner notes by Teruo Isono.
Cat was recorded in October 1975 at at Nippon Columbia Studio, while Hiroshi Suzuki was visiting his home country of Japan after moving to Las Vegas in 1971 to play with Buddy Rich and perfect his craft. Back on his old stomping grounds, the man known as Neko (Cat) immediately reunited with his dear friends for an epic two day session of groove magic. The chemistry was still intact. The skills and style had grown.
The result, Cat, is a smooth masterpiece, a deep and soulful affair where stunning trombone solos by Hiroshi Suzuki flirt with Takeru Muraoka's heavenly saxophone and the sensual rhythm section of Hiromasa Suzuki (keyboards), Kunimitsu Inaba (bass), and Akira Ishikawa (drums).
Celebrated in jazz collectors circles, in the lofi beat scene, and among music diggers around the world, Cat has become one of the most sought-after Japanese jazz albums of all time and, much like Ryo Fukui's Scenery, has fascinated old and young generations alike.
Points of interests
- For fans of jazz, fusion, funk, trombone, Japanese jazz, smooth rides, cats, allure.
- Official reissue of the glorious jazz-fusion album by Japanese trombonist extraordinaire Hiroshi "Neko" Suzuki.

We Release Jazz is the sister-label of Geneva-based WRWTFWW Records (Midori Takada's Through The Looking Glass and Lunar Cruise with Masahiko Sato, Pierre Barouh's Le Pollen, Jun Fuka-machi's Nicole, Grauzone's discography, …)
