After six illustrious vinyl releases behind them, Forbidden Dance takes this one deeply close to home. As a rising house name from Croatia, Laseech signs this harmonic and creamy house release iced with stellar vocals by Desney Bailey and backed up by two of the house heavyweights – Dego and Patrice Scott.
A1 The title track “Hey Love” is packed with effortless deepness in and out topped with smooth Bailey’s vocals dancing elegantly over chords and strings. Dazzling tuneage that resembles airy summer jam at your favourite beach spot.
A2 Dego is a man with a thousand sounds. And all of them are rich and impressive. His disco-funk spin on “Hey Love” is ploughed with heavy synths and sharp drums that culminate with a lush keyboard frenzy in the end.
B1 Patrice Scott’s ability to infuse introspective soul into machine sound is second to none. “Hey Love” goes through melodic morphosis which Patrice delivers so smoothly and tinges it with floor-oriented moves.
B2 Bailey’s vocals are the soul carrier of this release and it shows pretty much on “You See”. Hazy and melancholic, the track slowly burns under her looped vocals. Stripped, heart-aching and beautifully dimmed. More

Earthy bounces, sharp rhythmics and erased boundaries between deep and house in the fifth release from Forbidden Dance Rec. signed by the french virtuoso - Aleqs Notal.

With a tribalistic percussion launch into a warm and silky bassline, Supply Shuttle spins the dice on the deep house edges through linear but meticulous patterns of synth simplicity. The scarcity of snares puts the track just enough into the dance-floor realm but still exquisite enough for sun-drenched coast places especially with that subtle rhodes washing over the faint 303 shots in the background. Notal pulled a smooth move here further erasing the faint border between the two genres. And yes, sometimes the border gets pushed more into one over the other. Such is the case with Airlock Nation, clearly showing this imbalance in the most pleasurable way. With a straightforward shake onset floating on a solid rhythm throughout the ride, the track leans more on the floor side covering the early night with subtle and warm darkness step by step. The midnight glow emitting from the melodies is beautifully cocooned into deep sway smudged by ritual bongo hits. The track exports a sentiment of nostalgia in a positive and warm way while cleverly pushing the vibe over the mentioned border into a night dance. A Walk Thru The 20th continues this sway but implements a synth carrier into the foreground further developing the club feel. And this is where Notal shines truly because even in this kind of atmosphere he almost unnoticeably lays the track on perfectly fitting tribal shoulders stamping the core of the track with earth-grounding charisma. Both audio worlds, one audio shine. And still, on the other side of the playfield, Nature Of Offences is grounded heavily in slow and throbbing kicks paralleled with equally heavy claps and constant interchange of beautiful pads, strings and percussions. Although the track is stirred with a filtered 303 bassline, the overall feel points into a deep and seductive zone. Where Wild Horses Go is conveying an unquestionable sense of 80's electro and synth boogie filled with smooth and heavily reverberated rhythmics drenched in strong snares. Aligned with catchy and spaced-out disco pads, the album is riddled with ever strong analogue elements processed in a light, quirky and summerish way but with enough groove in some tracks easily applicable on the dancefloors in the late hours.
Dead Horse Gang is a brainchild music band/brand by Ilija Rudman dedicated to cinematic dance concept laying on the Los Angeles funk attitude, Art Of Noise perception of sound and raw 12-bit grooves making a statement of mid 80's culture with surf vibe of California summer.

The first instalment of the Forbidden Dance label is an organic brew of musicianship supervised by one of the Chicago deep house scene pillars - Vick Lavender. Three warm cuts are tinted with a jam feel showing Lavenders well-known ability to gather a different kind of music players and vocalists resulting in a soulful sections that are cleverly breaking the usual and linear electronic music mould. That's pretty obvious on 'Habanos', the opener track which fluently combines multi-layers of piano and synth sections in contrast to tribal rhythmics and flowy marimba background. With Yvette Magallon pouring pure honey with vocal inserts it's a never-stopping dance of the soul elements. Lavender manages to keep the same feel on the B side as well, with 'The Definition' track going off a bit more subtle but at the same time showing a funky edge with a playful bassline. Reverbed percussive lushness and diverse synth teasers are tinting the track with a summer night breeze, something your hips would move to. 'NiteFlye Jessie's Journey' is a closing track and a slow-burner riddled with spacey explorations of the keyboard. It gives almost 80's like feel beautifully integrating subtle synth envelopes and even marimba bits. A perfect deep rounder of this musically rich release. Hats off Mr Lavender! More

Smoothly combining his tendencies towards emotional and soulful deep house whilst building these elements on a steady foundation of tribal, percussive and dance rhythms, Miller manages to effortlessly pull you into his house sound with an impressive palette of ideas even if it's just one 4 track EP.
A1 - All We Have is a dancefloor inspired jam, but don't get fooled. The track is infused with a ot of deep juice and it drips irresistibly through the synths, short but smooth bassline and percussive foreplay of different drum elements. Playful yet with enough momentum to wiggle you in a positive dance sway.
A2 - Shine On Me (Rollin To Detroit Mix), the track which was initially released for Moodyman's KDJ Records back in 2002, got "revised" by Ricardo Miranda shows off perfectly the emotional substance of Miller's deep vocal house interpretation with silky percussive lines in between.
B1 - Headspace is the pure example of a perfect B-side cut. Slow-burning rhythm filled with organic perc stabs and dense but deep bassline, Miller again in a genius way intertwines slow emotional story backed by almost raw harmonics but nevertheless well explained Detroit vibe.
B2 - After The Rain, which can be heard on Alton's "Souls Like Mine" album released on the forementioned The Music Institute as a bonus cut. It's a slow dance between reemerging basslinand subtle synth lines flowing on offset claps and smooth background bongos. pretty timeless stuff if the atmosphere is dimmed right.
