The sixth edition of the Pleasure of Love edit series features the Toronto based Patchouli Brothers (GAMM, Basic Fingers, Barefoot Beats, Tugboat). The duo have a long running disco & house party called Beam Me Up and have a proven track record of slicing up and distilling rare, underappreciated cuts into peak time dance floor gems.
The A1 is a raw, driving Côte d'Ivoire disco revision with excellent celebratory vocal loops and synth leads. Next up is a smooth italo, tip-tap, jam re-edited to perfection, highlighting the sophisticated horn and lead synth interplay.
On the flip is a rubbery synth bass led soca jam that will set off just about any party with its catchy vocals and tension/release re-arrangement. And rounding out the release is a dutch disco call and response re-edit detailing a common thread in the dancer-DJ relationship. Dance floor tested and approved!

The Patchouli Brothers first began throwing parties in an Albanian dive bar in Toronto's east end, but have gone on to grace the stage at a spectrum of the city's establishments. They hold down a residency at a rotating disco jam called Beam Me Up which, while held monthly at the Piston, has taken place in a film studio, an artist commune, above a furniture store and inside the Great Hall. He's known as the go to authoritarian for Gospel Soul music, is the compiler of the Divine Disco series on Cultures of Soul and presents his radio broadcast Divine Chord Gospel Show on LA's dublab.com creative hub.
and Paulo Fulci is a DJ and producer out of Bristol UK. His work as part of the Situation edit crew has been released and supported as part of the underground for many years….he now spends his days slangin' records, whilst honing his disco scalpel skills in the late twilight hours.
Following on from their incendiary slab of two sided gospel goodness 'Born Again' & 'Soul Revival', the Divine Situation duo have crafted the next lot of bangin' spiritualized dancefloor destroyers for your record box.

Next up is the killer Latin cover version of Ian Dury's Wake up a sure fire floor filler that guarantees a rush for ID requests any time I play it ... Love it & will be playing for some time to come! Finally Discorama operatic disco for the leftfield floors all in all a top release from Moton. Moton 39 returns with an EP of music that is as epic as it is operatic as it is just pure funky. CE SOIR is a go go styled percussion funk monster with a female euro vocal that just pulls you in. From Saint - Tropez to the dark back streets of Dalston this has classic written all over it. THIS MAN is one of touchstones of the cosmic Adriatic scene championed by the likes of Italian dance legend Daniele Baldelli from back in the day. Resurrected and flipped for a new audience.
