Detroit native Javonntte Garrett, better known simply as Javonntte.
Javonntte has been producing music and DJing since the early ’90s. Having had a love for music since he was a child growing up, he turned himself into an independent singer, songwriter, producer and even a dancer, where he once toured with Aretha Franklin’s troupe.
Having collaborated with legendary producers Blake Baxter, Amp Fiddler and Andres in his formative years, Garrett has since spread his wings as a solo producer, with a steady string of releases on such labels as Traxx Underground, Quintessentials and Kai Alce’s NDATL.
This fresh four tracker, has been hand selected by us and each track brings something different to the dance floor, from the soulful vibes of WHAT? to the the bouncier and more melodic sounds of Good Vibration and Chicago.

Waella’s Choice return with their fifth release, made in Detroit, remixed in Melbourne and London.
Adding to a growing stable of leading house artists who have already released on the London label, Detroit singer, producer (and dancer) Javonntte presents Drumma EP, traversing the deep and soulful spectrum with two original productions.
The title track has the same instant magnetism as Hanna’s ‘Stranger’, which helped inaugurate Waella’s Choice in 2017. ‘Jazzpianodance’ takes a more broken approach, incorporating Javonntte’s love for jazz fusion. Something that would have felt right at home in the old Co-Op dances at plastic people.
The B-side presents remixes from two young producers with a bright future. Melbourne-raised and now London-based, Crown Ruler member Winters follows up his 2018 debut for Parallel People with a low-slung RnB version. Touching Bass family Romaal Kultan ups the tempo with a weightier sucker-punch of breaks and broken percussion, primed for peak time impact.

Burek family welcomes Detroit house don Javonntte into their circle with four infectious house bangers spread across the whole spectrum of the genre. This record has something for each part of the night, from the easy mood setting vibes to soulful bangers and straight up jacking peak time tracks that will make you sweat.
Tomorrow’, the opening cut, is the best example of the latter and the track’s vocal sample “strictly underground” is well earned. This pure head-bang house track will give you a run for your money. A side is concluded with ‘Journey’, a proper soulful house track which keeps all of its energy in spite of a slightly more subtle approach.
‘No One Like You’ is the first one on the flip and is a prime example of just how much soul and depth can a house banger have and Javonntte excels here both as a producer and a vocalist. Closing track ‘Enter The Disco’ is a slower, disco-sampled jam, perfect for that in-between time in the club when the action’s about to happen.

His collaborators include ?Ron Trent?, ?Peven Everett?, ?Glenn Underground?, ?Mark De-Clive-Lowe, ?his catalogue even boasts a? ?remix for L?arry Heard. Once again taking on his given name, the ?‘?DIRTYDISCOJAZZFUNK EP’ ?sees Anthony channeling his ?undeniable talent for creating mind expanding, groove driven house music, alongside some truly impressive musicianship. Anthony explains: “?I try to create this music with the intentions of inspiring a solo-ist to deliver a honest performance when they’re playing on the track. The arrangement sets the tone. Growing up playing Dominican percussion instruments from an early age, and being a staple DJ in the NYC circuit for the last 7+ years playing with a who’s who of DJs (Danny Krivit, Rick Wilhite, Louie Vega etc), Toribio expands the palette of what dance music is, fusing his Dominican roots, afro-cuban latin riddims and 90s hip-hop to create a cultural melting pot that signals a change in the guard for NYC House Music.
