It's a pleasure to see MOY back on AF. Sure, Jonny doesn't invent anything, but everything he does sounds incredible and his tracks have the ability to grab you and never let go. He seems to say: "I know what you're here for". The particular way he executes hyperactive beats, acid basslines and melodies, makes the material very emotive and timeless, walking his influences around and elevating the machine's rhythms to new emotional levels. Jonny Moy always delivers, in fact, the brilliantly titled 'Supermassive EP' is not just a title but a statement of intent. A brand new label within the Vinyl Fanatiks family. AmenTec is a collaboration between Amen Brother and Emotec, which is an electro/techno label run by Damo B, who hosts a weekly show on Unity FM in Manchester. The idea being that one label creates two tracks and the other brings in their talent to remix them.

First off the bat is MOY, an electro breakbeat supremo who creates the most in-depth soundscapes in dance music. And the two tracks on this release are probably some of his finest work to date, sweeping pads, rolling amen and squelchy 303. To rough them up a bit, Amen Brother bring in two old school producers from way back in the early 90’s. Fugitive, who is Dave from Aquasky, bringing back to life one of his earliest aliases that use to release on Underdog Recordings in 93/94, utilising the skillset of his former jungle pseudonym and Wolverhampton’s hardcore soldier Silver Fox, former house mate of Goldie, who dons his rave mask and goes in hard and heavy with a monster of a remix.

This release brings together the best of the electro world and the finest of the hardcore world and creates a release worthy of a place within the collection of any dance music connoisseur.

After MOY's 'Orbital Resonance' EP started the label in spectacular fashion, the second release on Damo B's EMOTEC comes from Ritual Poison co-founder BufoBufo. Following a run of releases on Furthur Electronix, Tone Dropout, Partout and Kouncil Cuts, BufoBufo's 'Perceptual Channels' EP merges acid, electro, breakbeats and the emotive melodies that have become a signature of his music. 'In The Reeds' sets burbling 303s and sci-fi synths against shredded drum loops; 'Silver Disk' nods to a love of classic hip-hop and hardcore, with a monstrous electro bassline; 'Scrying Mirror' has lush house chords, addictive bass and dark interludes; and 'Remote Viewing' is a more reflective downtempo piece with a blissed-out top line and influences from ambient and IDM.
