Robert Babicz - Infinity Inside feat. Alice Rose
Moments of unbridled creation often manifest themselves in rather eccentric ways. Be it a sudden eureka moment, where the internal light-bulb flickers on sharply, or the seamless state of flow that appears when writer and pen are in-tune. But what about electronic musicians and that of the equipment around them? In Robert Babicz’s instance, the very sounds produced by this relationship morph into shapes and colours; sonic frequencies become visible objects due to the rare phenomenon, and indeed gift, of synesthesia. Evidenced by Robert Babicz ’s eighth album, Utopia , this inherent creative process has resulted in a body of work that embodies his own personal experiences, forming a life soundtrack to epitomise moments of both elation and hardship. Memories enjoyed contrast with those endured, interwoven in a tapestry of musical expression that encapsulates a human story we can all relate to. Set for release on Marc Romboy’s Systematic, a label of which the Polish-born artist is more than familiar with given his two previous ‘Butterfly’ LPs, the album touches upon some of society's fundamental challenges, most notable of which is our search for the ideal world. Perhaps most strikingly is Robert’s assertion that the ‘Utopia’ we seek is not in fact a destination; rather it is a journey, one in which we must introspectively assess the notion that to find “ a better world to live in, we must create it each day ourselves. Each track therefore is a reflection of such a discovery, acting as an auditory representation of Robert’s personal tale and typifying the evolution that naturally ensues. In this instance the symbolic nature of the butterfly, showcased in the album’s cover artwork, represents this transformatory experience.

In this instance the symbolic nature of the butterfly, showcased in the album’s cover artwork, represents this transformatory experience. The voyage soon begins with Childhood , an ambient introductory piece that blissfully sets the tone of the release with emotive keys and warm, ethereal pads. Heartstone soon takes the helm, as progressive synths converge on a rhythmic kick-hat backbone, before the instrument-dotted Heroes opens with a stunning guitar-riff lead and resonant snare patterns.
The subdued tones of Hotel Kalimba soon grace us, a beautiful interluding track that works to rise and fall simultaneously, paving the way for a reworked version of Sonntag, one of Robert’s most popular tracks previously released on the well-established Kompakt label. Come Down swiftly ups the tempo, featuring a compelling main bassline that accompanies the poignant storytelling of vocalist Zera , before the hypnotic hum of Super Cactus softens the pace and gifts us a glimpse into a world far-removed from ours.
We are graced with another bespoke offering in Sin , an enchanting seven-minute rework of Robert’s debut Systematic track of the same name, whilst the heartfelt sense of No One Else undulates with a gentle lucidity, as Zera’s docile tones shimmer amidst a saxophone solo that evokes feelings of contemplation and anguish in one. Climax soon emerges with its breaks-inspired drum patterns and ethereal synth pulses, before the cosmic notes of Garden of Souls leave us in a haze of starry, wide-eyed reflection. Alice Rose ’s mesmerising vocals amplify the meditative qualities of Infinity Inside , a delicate penultimate record that unfurls into the album’s eventual closing track: Utopia .

Robert Babicz - Dark Flower (Joris Voorn Remix)
After already four strong 12“es on Audiomatique we proudly welcome back Robert Babicz with his fifth Audiomatique release: „Dark Flower“ is a shiny groover accompanied y a beautiful remix from Rotterdam based Techno-veteran Joris Voorn. The A-side features two new tracks by Robert, „Dark Flower“ and „Spiralboogie“. „Dark Flower“ showcases Robert’s typical handwriting: a dry, but funky groove construct with melancolic and deep synths while some highly seductive bass slaps create this very special Babicz feeling. „Spiralboogie“ spreads its magic on A2. Slowly building, having the funk in the trunk and fully focussed on simple, but reliable qualities. Forward ever, backwards never. The flipside holds our chef’s suggestion: an extraordinary Joris Voorn remix of „Dark Flower“ which already stirred a huge buzz when Steve Bug tested it on his recent Japan-tour or Robert played it out in Brasil last month. Joris Voorn‘s mix perfectly combines floating harmonies with a thrilling drive. Simply irresistible.

Robert Babicz - Hope
Welcome back, Robert Babicz, with his fourth release on Audiomatique! The Cologne based Pole is one of todays most prolific producers and his best known monikers Robert Babicz and Rob Acid are only 2 out of more than 10. He‘s been producing almost hundred releases in the past 15 years on almost every well reputed label. With his ongoing worldtour and the release of his new album „A Cheerful Temper“ on Systematic, 2007 has already been a busy year for Robert Babicz. His Audiomatique discography already includes three excellent releases: „Lidia“ (am02, as Rob Acid) „Prism“ (am04) and „Markatech“ (am15) with the latest „PingPong in Moonlight“ to follow in September 2007. On the A-side the title track „PingPong In Moonlight“ comes with steel-sounds, sharp hihats and a deeply pushing bassline. Once the groove kicked in, a mystic melody gives the song it‘s very own „moonlight-feeling“. Strong track!

Robert Babicz - Sleeping Beauty
Robert Babicz is already up to his third release on Audiomatique. “Lidia” was the first, under his alias Rob Acid in October 2004, then “Prism” as Robert Babicz in December 2005 and now “Markatech”, to be released late May, 2006. It looks like Mr. Babicz, who hails from the Cologne region, is tuned in to the Audiomatique sound. “Markatech” on the a-side is an absolute club monster, whilst “Sleeping Beauty” comes along with a more relaxed and dreamy vibe. On the one hand, claps, hihats and acid bleeps push things forward, rave signals paired with seriously dark basslines, plus some of those unmistakeableingredients designed to drag you onto the dancefloor and propel you all the way to hysteria.
Mood-wise, the flip side couldn’t be more of a contrast. The ingredients may be fairly similar, but the composition is different. As titles go, “Sleeping Beauty” is a pretty accurate title, hinting at the un-clubby, relaxed and peaceful atmosphere . A really versatile 12“ courtesy of Robert Babicz, very nice indeed. More

Robert Babicz - Prism
Robert Babicz and Rob Acid are only two of the many aliases for a groundbreaking producer. After Rob Acid‘s „Lidia“ (am02) he now uses his real name for „Prism“ his second release on Audiomatique. „Prism“ includes two excellent tracks, mainly produced with the famous „Machinedrum“ and all brought into being by Robert as well as a fantastic Robag Wruhme (Wighnomy Brothers) remix. „Prism“ is an ode to acid, of course, but also to the psychedelic element Robert misses in current club music. Go with spiralling vox-snippets and the twinging acid bleeps and you will expierence some unexpected twitches and flashes on the dancefloor. This trippy monster track is directly followed by „Rock“ on A2, which can be described as „steamrolling minimal rock“. This one slowly but surely takes control of your heart rate, you exhale steam and the journey begins. Massive. The b-side features a stunning rework of „Prism“, coming right from the Musik Krause HQ. Remember Robag Wruhme‘s great remix of MŠrtini Bršs’ „Love The Machine“ (pfr41)? His editing on „Prism“ presents the unique style of our Wighnomy friends. Frisky arrangments and twinkle-toed sounds work like a charm. Solid.

Belgian techno OG Fabrice Lig returns to Systematic with one of his most personal and moving EPs to date: ‘Black Monday’ His most substantial release on Marc Romboy’s label since his ‘Purple Raw’ series a few years back, each track is written as a special tribute to four people who’ve had a massively positive impact on Fabrice’s life, but have sadly since passed on. Expressing himself in the most honest, articulate way he can, this one runs deeper than deep.

Edu Imbernon & Raxon - Vapor Trails

Edu Imbernon & Raxon - Betera
Edu Imbernon and Raxon: this collaboration was only a matter of time… Both based in Spain, both crafting some remarkable immersive and expressive electronica, both working on some of the most forward-thinking labels in their field. Both making their full Systematic debut right here, right now. Two men, two tracks, two distinct sounds and narratives: ‘Vapour Trails’ takes the lead with a distinctive rolling drum arrangement that drives the track into unknown. Built up layer by layer, there’s a cool sense of mystique where key elements such as the guitar line and main chords are held back until midway when the beakdown and main pay-off bring everything together dramatically. ‘Betera’, meanwhile, taps into a brighter, more emotive sound that celebrates the Systematic signature Romboy and his troupe have developed over 15 years. Powerful, evocative and not afraid to writhe in the melodic side of techno, we guarantee this will be warming a lot of hearts and souls on dancefloors over the colder months ahead. Beautiful! We hope a future collaboration is only a matter of time, too…

After the highly acclaimed debut EP „Caper Tran“ Zagreb based Petar Dundov (Music Man, Cocoon) and Marc Romboy (Kompakt, Systematic) have teamed up once again in order to release their definition of what THEY call techno. „Dimension D“ is once again a stunning hybrid of both´s sound signatures, with rough and addictive beats accompanied by their destinctive way of programming hooky arpeggios. „Meteor shower“ was produced after a dream Petar had after the first production day in Marc´s studio. Inspired by the pictures which remained in his brain they switched on a Minimoog, Buchla Music Easel and a Juno 106 and started to make a trip into sounds which could be a soundtrack of such a bloodcurdling scenario. Purest techno!

Belgium based Fabrice Lig is nothing else than a phenomenon of techno music. The list of high profile imprints where he released his music, like Planet E, R&S, KMS, Third Ear and Playhouse is unique. More than a year has gone by after 'Purple Raw Vol. 2' was dropped on Systematic and since all good things come in threes, it was only a matter of time until he would come up with his third instalment. The wait is finally over and Fabrice returns with a strong 'Pure Raw 3' which has no other intention than making you dance through the night. This four-tracker starts with a driving edit of 'Gravitational Voyage' by Joris Voorn and proceeds it´s journey with three tunes full of raw percussions, bumbing sounds and unpredictable arpeggio synthlines. This EP is just 'Pure Raw'!

London born D. Lean lives in the windswept Swedish countryside on the outskirts of Stockholm. His surroundings have a notable influence on the sound of the Autoreply Music boss. Expansive and absorbing techno with a nod to the classic sounds and techniques of the genre. After two excellent 10" singles and a remix of Ken Ishii and Romboy's single "Taiyo", Lean released an appetiser ahead of this double CD album of the same name, "Time Tourism. This long player is a classy, deep and delicate dark electronica album in the tradition of Detroit techno, which gets taken on a trippy, tracky and repetitive journey.

D. Lean comes originally from London but lives in the countryside of Sweden, not far away from Stockholm. And this geographical circumstance seem to influence has sound because the label owner of Autoreply Music likes dark and Detroitish techno music a lot. After two highly anticipated 10" single and a remix of Ken Ishii and Romboy's single "Taiyo", Lean releases the forerunner track of his upcoming double CD album which has the same name "Time tourism", out in March 2016. The package comes around with three totally different versions: OCH's original in a techno influenced classical deep house coat, Baby Ford in a typical trippy and repetitive tracky way and Romboy shows us his groovier shades we know from his remixes for Terrence Parker on Planet e or his remix for Gorge on Freerange.

When it comes to techno and tech house Wehbba is without any doubts Brazil´s number one poster boy. With countless strong releases on platforms like Intacto, 100% Pure and Tronic and a gamechanging remix for Laurent Garnier´s mega classic "Flashback" he has convinced all jocks and producers from a to z. Now it´s time for a special concept EP series named "Systematic Shades" where Wehbba intents to connect and display different paintings with his own colors of music. Of course you can expect three Wehbba typical floor tracks which certainly work but close your eyes and imagine the colors which come into your mind!

Being the starter tracks of the "10 yrs Systematic" compilation Stephan Bodzin´s "Sungam" and Marc Romboy´s "Hypernova" have caused a massive stir around the globe. After the release of the transparent yellow vinyl of "Sungam" it´s now time for part 2 of this three part series and this is a remix edition of "Hypernova". It comes along with a remix of, who else, Stephan Bodzin himself and a new interpretation of Israel´s techno poster boys Guy Mantzur and Roy Rosenfeld who have just released convincing music on imprints like Bedrock, Kompakt and Trapez. And not to forget the bonus track, the obligatory beatless synthapella which is not to miss.

urban soul - Alright (Gerd Deep Mix)

urban soul - Alright (Club Mix - From 1990)
Roland Clark has without any doubt written house music history. Under names like South Street Player, Dark Clark and of course Urban Soul he has influenced the evolution of house music like only a few others. His different vocals on Fatboy Slim´s records are timeless, such as "What the f*ck" and "Song for shelter". Gourmets of old school house music become excited when they listen to Roland´s "Alright". The song, released in 1991, became a milestone in terms of soulful house, in the same way like Adeva´s "Respect" and Terrence Parker´s "Love´s got me high". Marc Romboy has re-explored this pearl for his series "Lost Treasures" and was able to convince Roland to release it again, fort he nyoung generation and fort he old school lovers. The package comes along with a respectful interpretation of no one else than Gerd (Clone, 4 Lux) and the fine remaster of the original club mix from more than 20 years ago.

Marc Romboy is finally back with a brand new solo twelve inch and this time he releases the traxx "Elgur" and "Nasa" which have already been featured at the legendary Boiler Room Sao Paulo show with Stephan Bodzin at the end of 2014. Both traxx do display the classical Romboy typical Moog synth lines and remarkable arpeggios as we know and appreciate them. This 12" is part 1 of a three-part-series which will be released during the year. Attention: once again collector´s item, special coloured vinyl disc !
