Dawn Notes' anticipated second release comes from Chicago house music legend Wyndell Long. Long has released music with iconic labels such as Peace Frog, Djax, Primate and R&S. Keeping with the soulful side of deep house and techno music, Long has composed four timeless tracks for Vincent Floyd's eclectic label. 'Enter The Maze' is a musical journey into the unknown.

Full Flavor Music is honored to welcome Wyndell Long onto the label with the Shikago Love 2 track EP. A devoted music fiend since the age of 7, Wyndell Long grew up on a steady diet of black radio during the P-Funk era in Chicago. In college Long befriended Mike Dearborn, then releasing records on DJAX, who passed the early Wyndell Long productions to Pete Hutchison over at Peacefrog Records in London. Long was immediately signed to Peacefrog which began a series of techno/tech-house singles throughout the 90's that garnered much praise in Europe and the US. Labels such as Primate, Soma, R&S, and DJAX also caught on to Wyndell Long, leading to his tracks appearing regularly in the sets of some of the biggest global DJ names. Long's debut with Full Flavor Music is intentionally 'Old School' sounding, sure to lead folks straight to the dance floor. "Always Keep It Wet" is a simple 'jack' track … it's pure Chicago, no studio tricks or high sampling rates. "Shikago Love" is the result of experiments with timing. The bassline and hi-hats are off the normal grid, but come together when heard in unison. There are a lot of subtle elements that move the track as something different happens about every eight bars. Analog synthesizers glide against a smoothed out high end in a way that is refreshingly pleasant to the ears, making the cut stand out amongst today's extra hot and crispy releases.

From his teen DJ years under the wings of Front's legendary Klaus Stockhausen in Hamburg to his own marvelous tenure there that is pretty much synonymous with the explosion of Acid House in its proto- and post-incarnations. One could examine his role as a herald of US garage and Jersey house or as a remixer of underground gone pop records. But we will leave that and other stories for the Front page soon. The "Traveller EP" is the result of Dlugosch and Cassara meeting at a mutual friend of theirs, getting excited about their shared love for classic synths (see Sh-101 for the Traveller bass line) and exploiting the latter's extensive synth collection. As Soul Capsule, Baby Ford and Thomas Melchior made some of minimal techno's most accomplished records. It has been many years since they stopped turning out new material - sadly - but their archive tracks are still in hot demand and undeniably relevant. While 1999's 'Lady Science' might be their most famous offering, this EP from 2001 on Aspect Music is no less vital and it will currently cost you well over L250 on second-hand markets. It is Ford's Trelik label who reissues it here in all its glory: the entirety of the a-side is taken up with 'Law Of Grace,' a delightfully deep and breezy minimal dub house roller with pensive chords draped over the frictionless drums. 'Meltdown' has a more experimental feel with brushed metal drums beneath a wordless vocal musing. The cult 'Lady Science' (Tek Mix) is also inched with the whole package being remastered by D&M to make this one utterly essential.

First original is a melodic track characterized by hypnotic synths which interchange everytime in the arrangement and also dirty and powered drums.
Amelie version's express exactly her style, giving to the tracks something magic with the vocals added, making a very true and enigmatic game of chess.
Second original instead is dominated by a strong pad, which fill up the mix, blowing up in the break and giving an epic feeling to the ensemble.
Charles's remix is techno with no excuses: raw powerful and groovy, is the perfect end for this pack, giving a much more underground touch to the release.

This is another vital instalment of Get Physical Music's classic reissue series, which is now scheduled for a vinyl release. It features a track first released in 1994 and was also part of DJ Pierre's Wild Pitch: The Story album back in 2017. It comes with an Emmanuel Satie edit of the Ricardo Villalobos Dub and a stellar remix from South Africa's Jazzuelle, first released in 2017.

Staying true to the underground since then, he's consistently released vital tracks, innovated with his Wild Pitch style and now his Afro Acid label. 'What is House Muzik' is an almost 10-minute masterpiece that's perfectly designed for gritty warehouse spaces and comes complete with an anthemic vocal monologue. It's dark and distorted with monstrous kicks and oversized hi-hats, a frazzled lead synth line and a marching groove that is lit up with strobe-lit details to get hands in the air. The original also comes alongside an acapella version.
Next up, we have an edit from melodic master Emmanuel Satie, who takes Fellow Ricardo Villalobos's epic 36-minute 'What Is Dub' version and splices it into a floor-friendly and perfectly paced 7-and-a-half-minute edit. Originally dropping in 2015, it now sees its way onto vinyl for the first time. Finally, South Africa electronic production don Jazzuelle drops a remix that lives up to its name with a dive into the deeper realms of acid.
