The fourth Exposure Series release is upon us. 'Linear Radiance' gathers together 4 extremely hot artists in the scene for one special 12'.

The EP begins with 'Raizel' by the hot newcomer Grush. This early set builder is smooth in the constraint it has rolling along in the sweet spot. A beautiful jaunt that is rich and fluid.

Next, is the amazing Philipp Priebe. 'So Glad' is another Priebe heater. A very talented producer, you can always count on him for great dancefloor business. The melody sneaks up on you as it builds from deep within. A sublime and subdued corker!

'Sonic Shadows' starts out on the B-side from skillful Nicolas Barnes. His contribution is a combination of a big club techno sound and a melodic flow that is almost reminiscent of some prime late 1990's progressive house.

Finally, is 'Grey Rythem' by Cirkel Square. Riding a catchy micro dub sound that is clever, fun, and surprisingly deeper than we could have ever hoped! All four tracks make for a healthy, well-balanced piece of wax!

Knowing that he is sharing a side with legendary Deadbeat, grad_u puts some extra muscle into his remix of 'Viridis'. Flighty and techy, we just love this futuristic fast-moving sound and we can't get enough of it. An awesome way to end the record.

In true Upwellings form, 'Lark Dub' is a brisk and polished track that has a friendly groove that should delight all listener's while Bluetrain turns the remix to a more 4x4 affair naturally injecting it with a house flair. 'Fed on Dub' is a more stark contrast as the alternate featured track. Addictive sequenced sound elements combust like a scientific experiment gone awry. Greyscale's most personal release and perhaps the most important for label owner grad_u aka Aleksandr Martinkevic. Earlier this year, Alex was diagnosed with cancer. Certainly a horrible thing to hear and there has definitely been some low moments in certain stages of the journey. At just 36 years old, many of us are shocked that such a young person can develop cancer. After some research he found out that younger and younger people are randomly getting cancer studies show. An alarming trend to learn about. However, there has also been a lot of other learning and different new levels of appreciation for the simple things in life as a new higher level of inspiration in making music has manifested. And this new release encapsulates that. Alex has also felt a duty to make things better for others. Focusing on what can be improved as he wants to highlight research, treatment and the overall communication of this disease to more people in the electronic music scene. Part of the proceeds from this new album will be donated to the National Cancer Institute in his homeland of Lithuania. Alex wants everyone to know that catching these signs early and getting regular checkups are your best chance at beating cancer. Thankfully Alex did this also and his treatments have gone well. Alex plans still stay steadfast with his label and his life. Simplifying things with the love from his family and friends, focusing on his hobbies along with making sure he makes his health his #1 personal priority.

The name for this full length release is titled 'T2NO'. grad_u's most introspective work yet features 8 emotional tracks overall. The honesty expressed in this album is blunt and to the point. These tracks take you on an audio journey thru grad_u as he expresses his feelings thru the entire process in each stage. Beginning with two wonderful ambient tracks named 'Genetic Mutation' & 'Carcinogen'. In the opener, Chords rain over you as a beautiful ambient melody peeks out underneath it followed by a more stark and hazy field of interference. From the gentle opener to the more tension filled follower, the personal journey of grad_u is developing before your ears. The b-side of 'Neoplasm' is a bit more somber but also has a ray of light in it. Introspective as it can get, this is a true journey through an uncertain future. 'MRI scan' needs no explanation....

The second half of the album begins the understanding of what grad_u was going thru. 'Malignant Transformation' gives off that feeling of the human body working thru the science. Fight or flight becomes the theme for this track. 'Adenocarcinoma' almost gives off the sound of cells rebuilding themselves. Sci-fi meets real life in this epic battle. 'Resection' continues this scientific sounding reflection on the body healing with sounds of movement and time. As if the body is working itself out. Lastly and triumphantly comes the closing track 'Waking up to a New
Life'....

The emotional journey of this album isn't for the faint of heart. It leaves nothing to the imagination. It works thru all the emotions that can come with such and life changing event like having cancer. We want to thank grad_u for sharing his story with us. This story can happen to anyone...

We have some very exciting news to share with you. Greyscale is launching a new series for its label and its named the Exposure Series! We are happy to say that many of these Exposure releases will be released on vinyl as well.

To debut this new endeavour we have a four track compilation called "Radiant Energy". Marco Cassanelli is the first artist and his track 'Camden Town' has a pure classic dub techno sound to it. Long delayed chords lull you into a peaceful mid-set trance while the beat is sure to move your body. Sibling's 'Valhalla' rises from the depths with a fantastic bassline and metallic spheres drenched in echo. A heady and busy track that really makes you take notice.

On the second side is 'Evolution' by Federsen and it has a more traditional dub approach. The groove is addictive here. Sounds dip and swell in a master class of subliminalism. Genning's 'Q.3' closes out the first Exposure Series EP with a more modern approach. Pure floorfiller here! This track covers you with a nostalgic euphoric feel while maintaining that deep underground sound.

Federsen inaugurates his new imprint Alt Dub this May with a split EP comprised of original cuts from himself and Hidden Sequence and a remix of each by the opposing artist.

Over the past decade and a half San Francisco based artist Federsen has been making his mark on the dub infused techno and house sound, delivering his vintage tape delay and analogue gear driven sound via the likes of Silent Season, Greyscale, Lempuyang and Ohm Series among others. Here though, Federsen opens a new chapter with the launch of his own imprint, Alt Dub, which kicks off here with music from himself and Federsen / Hidden Sequence - Positive Charge EP

Köln, Germany duo Hidden Sequence, whose music has found a home on the likes of Mosaic, Lempuyang and more.

Hidden Sequence’s ‘Switch’ leads the release and sees the duo smoothly blending an amalgamation of airy chord sequences, swelling pads, spiralling dub echoes and bumpy bass grooves with a shuffled, stripped back rhythm. Federsen’s ‘Polarity’ follows and dives into darker realms via expansive dub chords, intricately intertwined percussive reverberations, cascading bass flutters and crisp, minimalistic drums.

Opening the flip-side, Federsen interprets Hidden Sequence’s ‘Switch’, shifting the original’s ethereal aesthetic into a haze of billowing atmospherics, delayed percussion and vacillating low-end pulsations. The Hidden Sequence remix of ‘Polarity’ then rounds things out, upping the energy levels with a more upfront, robust rhythmic drive being intertwined with fragments of the original’s haunting textures and subtly unfurling feel.

Strictly Rhythm throw open the archive for this limited white vinyl 2021 repress of an all time soulful house anthem! A creation of the master at work himself Mr. Louie Vega, alongside Mood II Swing's Lem Springsteen, 'Beautiful People' is one of those mid 90's NYC jams that ticks all the boxes. A record that was built for huge sound systems and joyous packed, sweaty dancefloors and one that features the supreme vocal skills of Barbara Tucker in full flow. It has all the trappings of a classic. The A-side is the same as the original 1994 pressing with the now legendary 'Underground Network' mix opening proceedings, a roof-raising piece of organ led, gospel tinged goodness complete with it's iconic 'deep deep inside, deep down inside' vocal refrain slap bang in the middle for the sample spotters. Also included are the wonderfully stripped back and bumping 'Beautiful Reprise' mix and the original monster 'Club Mix' which sees Louie's MAW cohort Kenny Dope Gonzales at the desk on mixing duties (again, rinsing the amazing 'deep inside' vocal to great effect) and finally, to round off this essential package we are treated to a deep as you like Mood II Swing dub mix that is all swirling pads and organs, taking us into the early hours in style. A more solid and essential repress of a classic record you'd be hard pressed to find!

Can you believe it? Fall of 2014 marks the 20TH ANNIVERSARY of YOSHITOSHI, the seminal record label founded by Deep Dish in 1994.

To celebrate, we are bringing the classics back, remastered and with new remixes from an amazing group of heavy hitters from all corners of the dance world.

Given that Yoshitoshi's roots are ingrained in house music, it's only fitting to start the re-release campaign with Eddie Amador's classic House Music.

We're always glad to hear new material from undisputed dub techno don Steve O'Sullivan. This new one on his own Mosiac label finds him facing off with Paul Simmons on a pair of deliciously deep cuts. 'Inner Glow' is given the whole of the A-side to make its mark and it does - with a slightly more soulful sound than you might expect. Rather than pure heads down underwater deepness, it's got a heart warming vocals hook and brighter chord vamps over the signature drum smoothness. 'Stilll Burnin''is a quicker cut with more radiant chords and a soulful spirit, then a Bluespirit dub of the a-side zones things out nicely.

The third edition of the series pays homage to one of the most heralded names in house music - Armand Van Helden. While Armand’s productions like ‘U Don’t Know Me’ and ‘Bonkers’ have soared to #1, he has remained a true legend of the underground.
