jordan - Never Get Enough
2019 is shaping up to be a great year yet with more of the same focus on championing new and emerging artists; alongside the more established. But before all that.. Belfast is the first port of call as DJ and producer Jordan delivers a variety of party thumpers. With thanks to AVA festival and the invincible Bicep going from strength to strength; the Belfast scene is enjoying a moment with the likes of Bobby Analog, Cromby and Hammer all breaking through to greater recognition. Jordan has equally been keeping busy between releases on Abandon Silence and launching his own edits label through Lobster Theremin.. So the stars are aligning for this release, which typifies what the label is about. Each track could easily be the ‘A1’ and it’s already been doing the damage with the likes of Tim Sweeney, Erol Alkan and a select few, until now.. Expect to hear much more from each over the year ahead.

jordan - "Visage" (Leif remix)
Operating from the heart of Brooklyn, NY, the latest artist to sign up to Ornate is Jordan, whose plush deep house sound has already surfaced via a collaboration with Fred P on the Deep Explorer compilation Far & Beyond. Living on the border of the Bushwick and Ridgewood neighbourhoods, the title of the EP is a nod to the difference Jordan sees between his own spiritual, detailed work and the trend for rougher analogue sounds that have been sweeping the city he calls home. With a focus on expressive, richly melodic synths and delicately balanced rhythms, his music stands apart from the wave of guttural lo-fi sonics, and yet this is still house music with that East coast punch where it counts. With an imminent release for the noted Finale Sounds imprint establishing Jordan well within the remit of high-end house and techno, it gives us great pleasure to present these exercises in soulful immersion, from the three 4/4 driven pieces to the ambient vignette "Visage". With the door open for more experimental interpretations, it made perfect sense to invite former Ornate guest Leif back to turn out a remix of the track, his own hushed tones having recently graced a critically-acclaimed debut album for Fear Of Flying. It's the ideal complement to an EP of highly developed musicianship that spells another exciting step forward for both Jordan and Ornate.

We are excited to bring to you a new friend to the Finale Sessions family and he is part of the rising cast of producers from the New York underground . This record is just letting you know that it is still the hub for top notch talent in the United States. Jordan is a special producer bringing a vibe like no other with his mix of house and techno attributes .1) Night Mask is a nasty raw down to the ground dance track with sub like kicks and percussions and its flawless arching synth give this track its basis to move like no other.2) Division Point - This track is the basis for the ep and we understand we Jordan is going with this one for sure . Division Point is part deep and raw and it gives the ep its depth that it needs to transpire on different dance floors everywhere with its floating pads and it deep drums . Flawless work I must say.3) Return is the track I dig the most on this Jordan release! It has that peek time feel to it with its techno undertones and its great drum programming which really sets this track apart from all other and we can't forget the super sub underneath all the other attributes

INFO:
Feeling the deep and the hi simultaneously. Not craving for the extreme - finding balance instead. Indifference.
The word reflects what I often felt in recent times. Not just a feeling but a desire for things less pointed. It seems to be a general zeitgeist phenomenon but as I am part of the electronic music scene, I reflect a lot
about what is happening within this genre. There has been an urge for the either really hard, driving, fast and aggressive, or the extreme opposite.
Catchy vocals with a pop music feel, very direct and relatable melodies, soft grooves, piano chords. Either way - it feels like it has to be very distinctive - aggressive or soft - as long as it is extreme. It seems to be a moment in time where in whatever you do - it HAS to be in the face. All of this is fine of course - but never was my nature or personality. There is a reason why I chose to the adjective "Recondite" as an artist name because I could identify with the meaning of it. "hidden, obscure, not in the obvious”.
“Indifferent” is opposing this Zeitgeist and is representing driving techno with minimalistic melodic atmospheres, deep, haunting vibes, reserved yet strong and decisive within its own language, floating between melancholic desperation and hopefulness - music that lives right in between the hard and the soft... the aggressive and the neat... not black or white.
Not separated but INDIFFERENT.

Recondite returns to his Plangent label in January 2022 with a hugely personal seventh studio album,
Taum.
The tracks were written between his Berlin home and the Lower Bavaria hinterland of his youth. In
capturing the array of emotions, he was feeling during the pandemic and mixing up both pastoral and
urban influences, the album is his most diverse to date. It takes in classic Recondite tracks that are deep,
melodic and meditative as well more edgy, darker beats inspired by his lifelong love of hip hop, grime and
trap.
With Taum, Recondite takes his signature sounds further than ever before. More

Recondite has announced his fifth album, Daemmerlicht , due out in February on his own Plangent Records. Translated as "fading light," the new album finds the Bavarian musician exploring novel territory, combining his love of instrumental hip hop and downbeat with ambient and classical music.
The result is Recondite's most focused, meditative work yet. From the haunting soundscapes of "Lichtung," to the cinematic beauty of closing track "Immer Da," the album demonstrates a new level of sophistication to Lorenz Brunner's venerated catalogue of work. Making conscious use of atmosphere and space, the album ultimately harkens to Brunner's unique upbringing in Lower Bavaria. More

alex.do - Lumen
Since day one, Alex.Do accompanied the evolution of Plangent Records. He gave his opinion and feedback on the first tracks and was actually living in the same flat as Recondite when the label was founded back in 2010. It feels only natural that Alex is nailing the plangent mood with excellence on his first appearance on the label by delivering 4 sensitive, gentle, deep and mysterious tracks.

Deep moody emotive techno tracks on Recondite's own Plangent label. Recondite goes back to its roots with this release with deep lush tracks that are not just aiming at the dancefloor, and just like with first 4 releases on the label no repress on this title! Uchi delivering 3 conceptual and personal tracks that were made over the past 2 and a half years. Luna (January 2016), was named after a talking cat. It's kind of a sad story. You will find some synth sounds, three different kick drums, and a couple hi-hats. It's kind of moody. You can take it as it is, or not. Pride is Poison (July 2014) ironically, it's titled after experiencing dosages of unhealthy relationships, though it might be the one people like the most. It's sad-ish, noisy, bouncie, and bassie? That about sums it up. INC (February 2016) is titled after the International Noise Conference, where it was recorded. Actually it's a 3 part spliced zoom room recording of a 25min long improvisation, made in a punk bar. The argument here holds; Is it really worth it to make perfect music? Where is the concept of ''live'' in techno anyways? It doesn't matter. It's just a semi-distorted recording of a moment that meant nothing to almost no one, and yet it lives. Plangent is digging deeper!
