Founded in 1992, Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse Records has been flying the flag within electronic music as a one of the industry’s most well respected and quintessential imprints for over 25 years, delivering quality productions from leading names across the complete house sphere. Having welcomed Detroit Swindle, Peggy Gou, Josh Butler and Jimpster to remix Chandler in their first ‘Remixed’ instalment, released in early 2018, here we see the imprint revisit the label founder’s iconic discography once again as four new names rework a fresh selection of both solo and collaborative cuts, with Henrik Schwarz, D’Julz, KETTAMA and Marquis Hawkes combining to deliver Vol. 2 this October.Up first, Henrik Schwarz’s take on Chandler and Jerome Sydenham’s 1999 cut ‘Powder’ builds upon the original production’s slick drum work with rich, jazz-tinged chords to reveal an elegant and stylish slice of house music, whilst D’Julz’s groove-heavy remix of ‘Peace Of Mind’ fuses dubby pads and skipping organic drums packed full of swing as the Parisian turns in yet another must-have effort. Next, KETTAMA’s bustling ‘Garage Remix’ of Kerri and Lafayette’s ‘Better Late Than Ever’ takes cues from its title as the Irish talent hones in on a snaking, driving bassline accented by classic soulful vocal hooks, before rounding out proceedings in style through Marquis Hawkes ‘Classic Club Vocal’ remix of Kerri Chandler and Jiletta Riley’s ‘The Way It Was’, unveiling a sun-soaked and infectious final cut that pays homage to Chandler’s trademark New Jersey palette in ever-impressing fashion. Berlin based talent Black Loops arrives on Madhouse Records to deliver his four-track ‘JAH Love’ EP this April, featuring two cuts alongside Nikoss. Title track ‘JAH Love’ opens the package through a smooth blend of skipping percussion, infectious vocal samples and funk heavy instrumentation, before ‘Your Mind’ introduces the first of two productions alongside Nikoss as rich piano melodies and acid-tinged bass patterns merge effortlessly throughout the track’s six-and- a-half-minute duration. On the flip, ‘NYC Dirty Talks’ takes a trip across the Atlantic as resonant pads and slick drum licks combine to reveal a production that would find itself perfectly at home within any Kerri Chandler set, before rounding out proceedings with the bubbling 303 driven ‘Silly Acid’ once again in partnership with Nikoss, guided by bright keys, soft chords and vibrant low-end tones. Berlin-based producer and DJ Kevin Over has been on the rise over the past few years with a steady stream of output on the likes of Gerd’s 4Lux, Dj Steaw’s House Puff and of course Madhouse where he returns to here following last years ‘Where To Begin’ EP.
The original mix of ‘Penthouse Boogie’ opens with jangling metallic percussion, thunderous sub tones and dusty drums driving the groove whilst an amalgamation of choppy chords and stabs ebb and flow amongst hypnotic pads, hooky vocals and jazzy marimba tones.
Seven Davis Jr’s remix of 'Penthouse Boogie' follows, taking a more raw and stripped-back approach with a gritty drum groove, skippy hats at the forefront whilst easing in the original’s vocal chant, resonant pad swells, wandering marimba tones and a fresh, bumpy bass line.
Title-track 'Lavender' then rounds out the package on a Garage tip with swinging broken drums, hooky vocal phrases, murky bass tones and organ stabs.

The past few years have seen Berlin’s Frag Maddin release material on Waze & Odyssey’s W&O Street Tracks, Rough Recordings and Egg London’s What Came First as well as offering up a remix on Roog & Dennis Quin’s EP for Madhouse where her returns to here for a full EP featuring remixes from fellow Berlin based acts Black Loops and Kevin Over. Taking the lead on the package is ‘The Zauberflo¨te’ with it’s skippy hi-hats, hooky organ licks, hypnotic Rhodes melodies and vocal cuts all further fuelled by a snaking sub-bass groove to create a slice of authentic house for one of the leading labels of the genre. Black Loops turns in a remix of ‘The Zauberflo¨te’ next, stripping things back to a deeper, more refined feel with spiraling, filtered elements of the original wandering around swinging 909 drums to create a groove-drive counterpart to the original. ‘Focus’ opens the latter half of the package, the second original from Frag Maddin which employs chugging square wave bass tones and dynamically evolving drums alongside tension building strings and choppy stabs before Keving Over closes the package with his gritty take on ‘Focus’, featuring crunchy drums, dusty chords and cleverly arranged string and key samples. Demuja joins the Madhouse roster this March with ‘Come To Me’, a four track EP featuring French/Australian singer Ladybird and a Folamour remix of the title track. After various releases on the likes of Nervous Records, RTCT Records, and his own label MUJA, Austria’s Bernhard Weiss aka Demuja joins Madhouse with some fresh material following last year’s output on House Puff and Freerange. The release opens with title track ‘Come To Me’, a rough and ready Lo-Fi number featuring a soulful sample, and blissful stabs of horns and strings. Following is the Folamour’s ‘Lost In Eden’ remix, twisting the original into a Balearic, sun-drenched vibe, contrasting the original and bringing a more funk-infused, melodious feel to things. Up next is the second original on the release ‘Take’ which employs classic house tropes with a nod to the 90s via catchy horns and a New Jersey Garage/House beat. ‘Free Me feat Ladybird’ then closes the package, taking you on a silky smooth house journey, with Ladybirds dazzling vocals taking center stage. As part of Madhouse Records milestone twenty five years in the business the label will be offering up a selection of projects over the next year, ranging from vinyl reissues, events, new releases on Madhouse and it’s MadTech sub-label, Merchandise and more. Madhouse number 2 sees Kerri dropping his 4 track 'Panic EP' on us, released in 1992 the whole record sounds amazing today - As fresh as ever! Driving, funky, stripped back and with that trademark KC drum programming 'Get On Up' kicks things off with an intoxicating mix of all the above and some loopy, dubbed out sax.. this one is pure heads down late night business! 'Insomnia Again' utilises some choice samples the eagle eared among you will no doubt spot, paired with epic piano stabs and a cavernous kick-drum, slamming! Flip the record over for 'Something Wrong', a solid grooving, gospel-esque monster that hits hard, classic! Finishing out the EP is the amazing 'Love Is Over', undoubtedly inspired by the Garage and Zanzibar with it's nod to some classic cult killer Disco jams that form the basis of the track, looping, raw and moving hard, one for the heads! Luigi Giomini and Massimiliano Miele aka Marsupials have come a long way since their debut on Seven Music in late 2014, delivering a string of original content since via the likes of Large Music Scucci Manucci, Dabit, and Black Key Records. Here, the duo push on by joining the roster of Kerri Chandler's Madhouse Records yet another substantial step forward for the rising duo. Title cut 'Gotta Get You' kicks things off and sees Giomini and Miele provide an atmospheric deep house workout with crunchy rhythms, stirring pad lines, wandering stab sequences and weighty doses of sub bass. ‘Quilb' follows and takes things into deeper realms with a loose rhythmic swing, bubbling background synth tones and dubby chord hits, while closing piece 'Hot Donuts' rounds off the package on a gritty stripped back tip laying the focus on weighty drums and soaring chord progressions. Grampa’s ‘I Loved You’ opens with its balearic piano lines, bumpy bass stabs and hooky vocals setting the tone perfectly before Bobcat Trades’ ‘Summer Rain’ edges things over to more organic sounds with snaking natural bass licks, shuffled snares and freeform jazz sax across its five minute duration. Krista FA’s ‘Why You Wanna’ takes things soulful next, with emotive vocal stylings, hooky sub hits and a classic rhythmic swing the label has become known for.
