Following a disco-fuelled release on Patrick Topping’s Trick, Spencer Parker gets back to his own Work Them Records imprint with an EP series entitled ‘New Works’. ‘New Works Volume One & Two’ sees the British born, Berlin-based DJ/producer let loose four tracks of the sort of driving house music he’s perfected over the course of his career.

‘babeh babeh babeh babeh’ opens the release with a huge New Jersey inspired beats/chords combo which steadily builds towards the titular chopped vocal refrain and teasingly used bass hook. Next up, Parker deploys deep, swirling pads atop classic 909 drums for ‘beat u’, creating the sort of stripped house dub that informed much of his early love affair with the genre.

On the flip, 'vogue u' sees chopped vocals at the forefront of the cut, paired with a booming, kick focussed rhythm track and staccato piano stabs that nod to the golden era of house while keeping eyes firmly on the dance floors of the future.

Closing out proceedings ‘im in this (until I die)’ shows Parker in some of his funkiest form to date, employing a huge, walking bass and mangled vocal loops with the sort of precision arrangement that is a trademark for producer.

Spencer Parker returns to Rekids with looping techno roller ‘You’re Under My Control Now’ featuring remixes from Truncate, P.Leone, Fadi Mohem and label boss Radio Slave. Released on last year’s ‘Dance Music’ album via Parker’s own Work Them Records, ‘You’re Under My Control Now’ is an infectious and mesmerising techno banger that’s garnered support from the likes of Midland, Len Faki, Amelie Lens and Marcel Dettmann. One of the track’s biggest supporters, Radio Slave is now releasing it on Rekids with a medley of top tier remixes. Radio Slave’s reimagining scales back on the original’s high-octane energy, instead taking a more uplifting direction with an arpeggiated bassline, meandering synths and clattering percussion. A regular on Seilscheibenpfeiler (alongside artists like FJAAK, Solid Blake and Kasper Marott), Fadi Mohem is next with a dark and atmospheric rendition complete with driving kicks, subterranean chords and echoing effects before Truncate serves up his cavernous ‘Mind Control’ Remix which combines tantalising melodies with robust drums and murky vocals. “There was no real concept behind the album, all I knew is that I wanted to do something honest. The tracks I make are the tracks I play in my sets and tracks I want people to dance to - that’s where the title comes from.” - Spencer Parker.
'Cruising Control' hits you hard from the off with a melting pot of industrial kicks, shuffling hats and expansive stabs. Following in a similar vein 'Remember' carries that same aesthetic with the addition of some throwback keys and a hypnotic vocal sample.
On the flip 'Cash Only' keeps on the Berlin techno tip that has been a common theme running through the LP, combining a ruthless, fist pumping beat with wobbly, mesmerising synthwork, sure to get the bodies moving.
To close out the last of the samplers, Parker conjures up those insular moments caught alone in the crowd, with nothing but the music to focus on. And with that provides the perfect tone to end this "Dance Music" sampler on, an LP Parker has created with the intention of making people dance firmly at the forefront of his mind.

Part Two of the sampler opens with the uncompromising club cut & rave inspired 'The Power. Next up, the stuttering ‘Nights And Weekends’ is a nod to electro that has boundless energy & really shows off the respected DJ and producer's diverse production skills.
Kicking off the B side, ‘Girl...' takes in the old school European techno sound relentless in its arrangement & firmly aimed at big dark spaces.
The melodic ‘Emotional Tendencies’ closes out the second of Parker’s ‘Dance Music’ offering an introspective and deep side to the LP and highlights another facet of Parker's productions.

Part One of the sampler opens with ‘It Was Just A Dream’, a ghostly cauldron of glitches, bleeps and sound bites that locks you into a dazed state of hypnosis. Next up, ‘The Oh’ hits with a taste of classic house, marrying emotive stabs, a tough kick and fizzing ride cymbals.
On the B side, ‘You’re Under My Control Now’ takes the sound industrial combining a Kraftwerk-esque metronomic breath with rapid fire toms and a dynamic kick. ‘Absolutely Raving’ closes out the first of Parker’s ‘Dance Music’ samplers offering a rave leaning techno weapon that wouldn’t be out of place in the hallowed grounds of Berghain.

Spencer Parker returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint for two stripped back cuts in the second instalment of ‘No More Silly Club Songs’ this February. The Work Them Records founder and Rekids regular dropped the first four track package last summer, which was a series of tools produced with Parker’s own DJ sets in mind. Vol.2 initiates with robust kicks and shuffling hats in ‘Silly Club Song No.5’ whilst charismatic chords operate amongst drum rolls and a vocal crying out “dance”. On the other hand, ‘No.6’ follows a similar muscular aesthetic yet incorporates a ‘Reese’ inspired bassline as percussive elements rattle throughout. Supported by Radio Slave, Rodhad, DJ Rolando, Marcel Dettman, Ben Sims, Mr. G amongst others.

Spencer Parker invites Swedish artist Billie Jo to Work Them Records with five driving techno cuts entitled ‘The Ravenous’ EP featuring a remix from Me Me Me boss Man Power.
Hailing from Stockholm, Billie Jo is a founding member of the .WAV collective and resident DJ at Gothenburg’s Rottweiler when not performing at clubs like Tresor. She now joins Work Them Records, bringing an array of robust productions with her.
With its pounding drums and ghostly vocals, ‘Erroneous’ quickly sets the tone of the release, leading into ‘Saturn’ with its glassy textures and echoing effects. ‘Ravenous’ then takes us into murkier territories, generating a duskier aesthetic with its twisted sounds before British producer Man Power provides a vigorous reinterpretation under his newly minted MPX moniker, which focuses on raw club tracks, featuring hard stabs and acid licks.
With its saw-like lead and trippy atmospherics, ‘Dir Vsseu’ sounds like being pulled through a vortex, making way for the powerful ‘Planet 9’ which concludes the package with metallic elements and subtle pads.

Berlin-based American producer P.Leone returns to Spencer Parker's Work Them Records with arguably his biggest offering to date, featuring two standout cuts entitled 'The El Dorado EP'.
Upon being discovered by Spencer Parker, P.Leone dropped his first two releases on Work Them Records in 2016. Since then he has continued to rise, launching E-Missions alongside Caiazzo last year before kickstarting 2018 with a four-track techno release on Rekids.
He now returns to Parker's renowned imprint with arguably his biggest offering to date. With its looping vocals and robust drums, 'El Dorado (Bump Yo Ass Off Mix)' is a monster of a track designed to throw dancefloors into absolute revelry. On the flip, 'Dancing To Get You Back' features crystalline synths, purring bass and a medley of breakbeat percussion.

Patrik Sjeren, J-Dubs and Work Them Records founder Spencer Parker give Dan Beaumont's lauded 'Spirit Talkin'' the dub treatment. Having seen much support from names like Truncate, Job Jobse, Marcel Fengler and ItaloJohnson, 'Spirit Talkin'' was an enormous testament to the London-based DJ, promoter and venue owner's production prowess. First up on dub duties, Swedish veteran Patrik Sjeren, who's been releasing under numerous monikers since the early 90s on the likes of FXHE, delivers a chilling production courtesy of ghostly echoes and tantalising synths. J Dubs aka Jamie Fry, founder of the STABLO imprint, then focuses on understated percussion as an undulating bassline joins infectious claps, before Work Them boss Spencer Parker combines rumbling kicks with shuffling hats for a stripped back dub version of his Workmix.
