Anané’s Take A Ride EP was produced by Two Soul Fusion, aka Louie Vega and Josh Milan, all with live string arrangements courtesy of the Apple Hill String Quartet and conducted by Leroy Burgess. The recording dives from the effortless heights of Punk Disco (Let Me Be Your Fantasy, High) into the swirling eddies of Jazz Funk (Coffy Is The Color) before climbing back out into the languorous arms of Italo-Disco (Tutto Previsto). Strings across the production were The EP is held together in its entirety by the dreamy, sumptuous vocal of its creator Anané, who considers her top line one vital part of the instrumental whole. “I am art,” Anané reflects carefully, “for I am the music as much as I am the singer. Creation means to crawl into the unseen of my own dreams and becoming the beast of my vision, singing to the world as I go by.”

This is one of the greatest albums of spiritual jazz related back in the 80's by Prince Billy Mahdi Wright who is a jazz saxophonist in the underground scene of Chicago. This is his only record as band leader and it finds him link up with Eldee Young who is well known as member of Young Holt Unlimited. She is credited as bassist of this album, and what an album it is. P-VINE released it as CD this summer and now present it as reissue LP for the first time, so do not sleep.

Since its launch in 2006, the Groove-Diggers series has been unearthing high-quality records (grooves) regardless of genre, nationality or era, from soul, funk, jazz, Brazilian to Latin, and has released over 100 titles to date.

In 1969, Sahib Shihab and five leading members of the Clarke-Boland Big Band, including Francy Boland, Jimmy Woode, Kenny Clarke, and Fats Sadi, recorded this album for West Germany's Vogue label. The album features the exquisite Latin jazz track "Seeds," the waltz number "Peter's Waltz" dedicated to his son, and the modal piece "Mauve." Each track is highly stylish and sophisticated, showcasing a pinnacle of European jazz that could only be achieved by this exceptional lineup.

Hiromasa Suzuki is a composer/arranger/key player who has been active in the Japanese music world, including jazz as well as movies, television and commercials. Mukatsuku returns with another superb little remastered package here on limited 12" hand-numbered to 400 copies. It features the Afro disco sounds of Fred Fisher Atalobhor And His Ogiza Dance Band .'WTFS' was originally released back in 1981 from the African Carnival album. It's a booty-wiggling cut with myriad funky lines, squelchy synth motifs, lush chords and soul drenched vocals that bring the sunshine and party in equally playful measure. On the flip is 'Ebi Lolo' which is defined by its big brass section and loosey-goose guitar lines, bright chords and subtle funk and currently being championed by Charlie Dark on social media and his recent DJ sets….
