After the "We Make Music" vinyl trilogy release in 2013 House Is OK men are back and ready to kick it. They took their time polishing this new black piece of gem you'll be holding in your hands and after a period of careful track selecting, dedicated A&R work and multiple mastering sessions they proudly present the first, full EP on the label! Janis got the honors of being the first of the bunch to claim it! Named after his moms' favorite singer Janis, a full time musician, is either working on jingles for MTV European Music Awards, or making music for high-budget commercials and German art films, or spending his time constructing highly infectious House grooves. (Busy bee this one.) His latest EP for Tensnake's Mirau got strong reactions from the international House community including legends such as Mousse T, who couldn't resists its magical moods and atmosphere. On the "Parental Advisory House" EP Janis got to demonstrate his vide range of talents. Driven by heavy bass line and filled with a funky chord sequence lead track will easily be implemented in your brain with the freaky vocal singing about a girl that just can't stop dancing. Kids will need Parental Advisory before listening to this, as they'll probably be infected with the same catchy virus called movement, spreading from this tune. It's infectious we tell you! Adults are in danger of being contaminated as well. And let it be known that you've been warned! With "Fitzefu Pumpkin" Janis breaks the groove in a massive 2-step pumper. Good vibes come up instantly from tracks first few bars as it keeps putting that beautiful, subtle smile on your face until it gets to its last beat. Flip takes off with "Ensoniq Youth". Tracks name shows appreciation for one of House is OK camps favorite gear manufactures, partly used to build this smooth house groove. A typical Janis beat with strong rhythm section, dreamy synth pads and funny vocal chops... a combination that surely become his production trademark. EP closes with a remix signed by Studio Barnhus' lover boy Kornél "Koko" Kovacs, producer whose music has that special humorous touch Janis found endearing. Kornél takes the elements of the funky original, turning it in a driving dub that only emphasizes funny moments and playful atmosphere, which only makes this a perfect music match.

Janis Guckes is a friendly musician from Frankfurt. His love of music has led him to many a band and project. Socialized in the Robert Johnson Club, where he found his way to club music in the late nineties, he now produces excellent House in his own kitchen. He also runs a label with two friends, "House Is OK", where he released his first records. Stylewise, he feels at home just in just about any box - and on Mirau 018, he pulls out his heavy, vast coffer of house music.On the "Forgiveness EP", substantial Detroit numbers shuffle into line on a timeless 12inch. Janis' seemingly impulsive way of putting together grooving, tilting tracks hits a nerve; everything falls into place. In honest, brave lines, he sketches out a feeling that we can't help but live. The first track, "Forgiveness", starts out with a warm sample that pumps blood straight to your dancing feet - tangible Deep House. "Greetings from the Netherworld" reaches out and grabs you with a bouncing bass, echoing vocals and hauntlingly beautiful string elements, building up a marching, glittering ensemble. "Illusion of Choice" stoicly stamps and twists from the speakers. The next-door neighbor complains across the freshly trimmed hedge, then breaks down and gives us a tap dance lesson. In "Different from the Rest", not only he can no longer resist; everyone joins in, because it shuffles so nicely. The swinging bass line carries the tapdancing companions all the way to the end of this enchanting EP.

André Hommen and Gerd Janson have remixed Tensnake's 'The Walk / Keep On Talking'. Forthcoming on Tensnake's own label True Romance, TREP010 'The Walk / Keep on Talking' Remixes will be available on both digital and vinyl from the 14th December. It's arguably the label's biggest remix package since Duke Dumont and Ewan Pearson remixed 'Love Sublime'.

The Pete Tong approved André Hommen - also the creative producer and label manager of Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity imprint - has remixed 'The Walk' on the A-side. A deep, minimalistic beat drives his remix and a smart breakdown introduces the melody from Tensnake's original, pushing all the original elements to higher heights.

'Running Back' label boss Gerd Janson's 'Keep On Talking' RAW mix is set against powerful drums and acid-tinged synths, with a piano-led breakdown echoing the original melody. The Panorama Bar resident and celebrated producer delivers a unique cut formed of several retro influences to provide a cool new twist on Tensnake's upbeat original. The vinyl release also include's Gerd's beats-only version in the 'Gerd Janson RAW beats mix".

"I've been involved in two or three major genres that are very different from each other," says Vaughn Robert Squire from Canada, better known as Prison Garde, who is making his True Romance debut with our TREP009.
About his 'Melody EP', he says: "It's gospel-influenced house stuff. It's in line with the last couple records that I put out, but I feel like it's a little more mature and that the quality of the recording is a lot higher than anything else I've done as Prison Garde. I recorded it at the Phi Centre in Montreal - it's a beautiful cultural center in the Old Port. Ango and I locked ourselves in there and did a live record on an SSL in a big room."

Marco Niemerski, aka German DJ and producer Tensnake is set to release his 'Keep On Talking / The Walk' EP via his own imprint, True Romance on June 8th 2015.
