Released February 2017 on his own Ladies and Gentlemen imprint, Green Supreme is the fourth studio album from house music veteran Phonique: a collection of 11 remarkable songs from one of the scene's most revered producers. To describe Phonique as prolific would be something of an understatement. To date, he has amassed a discography of more than 500 original tracks and remixes - as well as three previous studio albums - for acclaimed labels such as Dessous, Poker Flat, Crosstown Rebels, Systematic, Souvenir and of course his own label Ladies and Gentlemen, a collection which includes some runaway successes. Despite working on Green Supreme, Phonique's fierce production rate has continued unabated in 2016, with highlights including 'T Groove' on Katermukke and his stunning remix of Frank & Friedrich 'Coming Home' which landed on Universal earlier this year. Phonique's three previous critically-acclaimed albums attest to his evolving sound and diverse influences, his deep knowledge of house music, and masterful attention to detail, all of which are further established with Green Supreme, arguably his most diverse and polished album to date. Throughout his career, Phonique has excelled in working with vocalists, a theme that continues with this collection. Tracks of note include the creepingly ominous deep tech of 'Something To Remember', on which Stee Downes delivers a phenomenal vocal, and 'Taking A Chance', a delicately melancholic deep house cut complete with sweeping synths and half-caught vocal samples.
"This is my most focussed album by far" say Phonique of the project. "An album should be a pleasure to listen to, even in five, ten, twenty years, so it can't just be a club beats for 60 minutes. I need vocals, warm melodies and stories.

Phonique has certainly been steering the buzz with his second album „Good Idea“ which has just been released by great critical acclaim. many reputable DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Funk D‘ Void or Ralph Lawson have already been playing these tracks in their sets. We picked the most beloved tracks from the LP and now here is a fresh new three album track remix EP containing mixes by Charles Webster, the long term deep house maniac who serves to be an incredibly good choice, Will Saul, label owner of „Simple“ and „Aus“, and a final remix by the man himself Phonique. On A1 it‘s the Charles Webster remix of „Worked It Out feat. Ian Whitelaw“. It starts off as a nice thudding beat with a crisp minimal click on the offbeat, until an echoing vocal sample swifts in and around starting off the soft but pushing „shoulder shifting“ bass line. Smooth piping reverbed blows outline an almost euphoric melody, a very trippy and atmospheric tune with soft cymbals pattering away in the background. Soothing sounds and housey chords mix perfectly to make a chilled out dreamy beach tune with a nice progressing beat. A swerling bridge with a 90‘s Casio chord melody steps in and then fades out to the echoes of the vocals drifting silently away into the sun..... On B1 it‘s the Will Saul remix of „Bang“. Dun, dun, dun, dun, whoosh! - ...then... a descending high minor melody calling with an electric bass response. Squeeky bird sounds and weird reverbed chords makes you feel like you‘re in a crazy dream falling and falling... yet the beat keep you stable and composed... just about! An out of tune dungeon computer game. Strange but true and also very interesting!! And finally, on B2 it‘s the Phonique version of „Space Cruise feat. Gui Borrato“. Trekking through a spaceship journey tune with mechanical functional sounds releasing here and there. A repetitive two noted melody comes in and fades out, is replaced by an array of spaced out tones, arrivies back again, meets up and resounds into a fancy orbit around the galaxy. The bridge has a nice slightly bongo beat helping to groove as the stars and planets fly past, only to finally end off with some echoing splashes.... indeed wheres my head at?!

The title track is based on a sharp lambent sound and a funky Phonique-style bassline joined by a hypnotising keyboard-expanse and nice melodies after the break. Seldom does a track have such a story behind it as Kiloo & Phonique‘s ‚The Passion‘! It was three or four years ago in an online Deep-House forum that this warming tale began. Featured during a particularly on-form Laurent Garnier mix, came a track that immediately caused quite a stir. A who‘s who of Deep-House heads from Ame to Dixon were up in arms about this ‚phantom‘ track, that no-one could place. Could it be an old undiscovered rarity that they‘d all missed, or a new, unreleased, secret production...? Eventually, a track-listing was provided for Garnier‘s mix, and the artist was revealed to be the little-known but instantly respected ‚Kiloo‘ aka Pascal Saussac. Phonique‘s connection with the artist was forged after another of the newcomer‘s tracks, ‚The Game of Love‘, was signed to
the Parisian label ‘Plays Cool’. Having already been well respected on the French house scene, Phonique was asked to remix the track and so their relationship grew. Originally, ‚The Passion‘ was sent to Laurent Garnier‘s F-Comm imprint, but remained unsigned, and so for a long time it had no home, however Phonique always believed that it deserved a platform for release to the world. Now in 2008, this hit, four-years-in-the-making, has been completely re-recorded by Phonique and his studio partner Alex Krüger, and Kiloo‘s magical track is ready to start the message boards filling up once again!
For the remixes, we remain happily within the Deep-House genre, as first choice remixers Trickski, who supported the first two Ladies & Gentlemen releases in almost every set, maintain their ‚Members of the Trick‘ trademark style. They fill the role with a fine re-work that honours the original, and unfolds it into an intricately dubbed hypnotic journey. The second round of remix duties are beautifully fulfilled by long term pals Dplay and Manuel Tur. Originally part of those historic forum discussions years before, they have since risen through the ranks to become some of the most respected producers of the genre, releasing on labels such as Drumpoet, Freerange and Compost. Complete with a blissful piano breakdown, this confirms the fact that it will be hard to miss the ‚The Passion‘ this time!

Mysticisms returns, looking to the source, Detroit City, with the beautiful house music of Soiree Records International and their 1995 deep vocal bomb, That’s How Lovers Be.
Established in 1990 by Derrick Thompson, Soiree has long focused on the deeper side of house, late night rhythms across over 70 releases. Never making a shout out about it, the label might not of garnered the kudos it deserves while laying down a tight standard of cosmic sonic delight.
Featuring in the main on Thompson’s own Drivetrain releases, his production skills are deployed on this one time project. Written and sung by Montaze Armstrong, alongside the smooth accompaniment of Merchon Bower, the production is ubiquitous Drivetrain. His main mix sets the scene; hats proffering swing and impetus while bass and chords underpin the vocal interplay to skyward perfection.
Once again the label conjoins a latter day contemporary and admired producer to offer their own retake and who better than the essential producer of all things deep, Nail. A huge influence on the label during the formative years of (free party) house music’s ascent, his recent return has been widely welcomed. His ‘mix’ is full of respect and perfect pitch, adding his distinctive low-end rumble, hypnotic hats, skips, loop and shake.
To close, it’s all about the legend that is Scott Grooves. Nothing more needs be said, his 9-minute ride show jazz roots worn firmly. Rhodes, claps, piano and vocal are all that’s needed. Loose, funky and soulful from a true master.

Max Heesen, (who is also one half of Ribn with Manuel Tur) delivers the smartly titled 'Central Heated House' for Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings.
The LP format suits Langenberg's hypnotic house classicism well, allowing time and space to stretch out the grooves and moods over four sides of vinyl - working both for the DJs and perfect as a soundtrack for the autumn.
The LP kicks off with 'Jade', a melancholic, tape saturated introduction to Langenberg's deep tastes. 'Room 210' maintains this atmosphere, with fizzing percussion and warm Detroit-esque melodies.
'Groove 26' is perfectly timed for the hot summer, as lush Rhodes chords and KDJ style vocal snippets provide the heat for the openair vibes.
The single from earlier this year 'Shadows' features the talents of vocalist Blakkat, and caused some serious response when it hit airwaves and dancefloors alike.
'Never Worry' is a heads down roller, built around a simple but perfectly executed bassline, while 'Dreamliner' is trippy laidback sunshine house all the way.
