mystic bill - The Ship Is Sinking (Instrumental)
Chicago house legend Mystic Bill joins Crimes Of The Future for a 2 straight up jacking house tracks with bonus instrumental and a mind bending remix by Scott Fraser. Bill Torres needs little introduction to those fans of the original Chicago movement in the late 1980's and 1990's, he produced a string of 12's for the likes of Trax and Relief Records whilst playing and holding down DJ residences in some of the citties best loved venues. After remixing Scott Fraser's No Word Of Truth release last year on his DX Recordings label his first full solo release on Crimes Of The Future has arrived. The A cut Frequency 9 is a rolling jacker with rattling percussion and dark synth stabs to dement the warehouse dancefloor and very much in the line of Bill's trademark style. A2 see's Fraser return the remix favour delivering a massive floor bumping remix adding all new drums, 303 and huge bassline giving a nod to the classic sound of those Sex Trax/ Power Music 12's from the 1990's with his 11 minute mind control remix.... The frequency cannot be controlled! Side B has both the original and a bonus intrumental of The Ship Is Sinking, a dark slice of jacking house complete with real tension and total mastery of the sampler for those able to spot it. Frequency 9 was originally recorded in 1995 (Chicago) The Ship Is Sinking was originally recorded in 1994 (Chicago) "Up to about the late nineties it had become widely popular in Chicago for Dj's to play their own recordings and edits off of tape. Many in the past had used Reel To Reel, but pitch control cassette decks and cassette tapes were a more inexpensive way to go. This gave us a chance to feature songs and edits that we had been made right on the fly, A lot of these songs became popular amongst certain groups but were never pressed to vinyl. Here are two of my own recording that could only be found on cassette, until now" Mystic Bill"

Mystic Bill - Body Moves (NYC Dub)
A key figure in Chicago’s second wave of influential house and techno producers, Mystic Bill returns to Classic Music Company with ‘Body Moves’, a release with serious club credentials and drenched in authentic NYC, New Jersey and Chicago influences. This 12” package is becoming a firm favourite of in-the-know selectors, no doubt thanks to its party-starting qualities that are sure to captivate floors. Featuring four versions of the track, Bill navigates various different analogue moods, kicking off with the vibing house of the original, as euphoric synth arpeggios and a warm, groovy bass blend for dancefloor magic. The Reprise Mix is another juicy club cut, with a full-throttle bassline that rips through the newly looped vocal. On the B-Side the NYC Mix demonstrates Mystic Bill’s trademark deepness, headsy enough for the darkest recesses of the dancefloors but with buckets full of energy for peaktime sets. The NYC Dub closes out, an essential club tool for any discerning selector. A perfect fit for Luke Solomon’s imprint, Mystic Bill’s ‘Body Moves’ is not one to be slept on.

Crimes Of The Future 016 is a very special collaboration between N.O.I.A. Rubicon & Rude 66 with the track 'Morning Bells'. Italian synth pioneers N.O.I.A. formed in 1978 originally as a 5 piece band, their New Wave sound was a precursor to Electro & Italo. In 1983 they signed to Oderso Rubini's Italian Records as a three piece. During their golden age of 1983-1985AN.O.I.A. released 5 singles and the mini LP "The Sound of Love" which were all successful in the European dance market. Also in 1983 Band member Davide Piatto composed the dance classic "Dirty Talk" sung by Rossana Casale. Released under the name Klein & MBO and it reaches the top of the charts all over the world.AN.O.I.A are still producing music in their studio based in the seaside city of Cervia. Rubicon is an Italian electronic musician and producer.AHe comes from a small town in North-eastern Italy, land of the red river RubiconAthat was famously crossedAby Julius Caesar. Rude 66 is known a being one of the creators of The West Coast Sound Of Holland. A prolific producer in electro music and acid house since the early 1990s. Born Ruud Lekx, Rude 66 has been making noise since the '80s, when his first musical endeavours involved noise bands andAEBM. His first solo work, however, surfaced in 1993 on the newly founded Bunker Records, after Lekx passed a tape of acid tracks to high school classmate (and Bunker co-founder) Guy Tavares. Alongside like-minded artists such as I-f and Unit Moebius, Rude 66 was instrumental in putting the seminal Hague label on the map, releasing multiple albums and EPs of gritty, lo-fi acid sounds.AThe track 'Morning Bells' was originally demo'd by N.O.I.A. then produced and arranged together with Rubicon, Rude 66 mixed and added the final touches. The track is both moody & uplifting, hinting at Electro, Acid & Italo, as well as all the signature sounds of the collaborators. For the B Side there is a version produced by Timothy J. Fairplay. Due to the analogue nature of how the original was recorded there were no 'parts' to do a remix with, so Timothy rerecorded all of it from scratch, more a cover than a remix, Timothy's version sits on an Electro break unlike the 4/4 original and is maybe a touch more menacing.

We are pleased to announce the release of 'Dr Burisch' by Perseus Trax on Crimes of the Future. After releases on Bunker, MOS & Chiwax (to name a few), the EP is a four track soundtrack to some forgotten alien abduction documentary... maybe. Starting off with 'Rainy Tuesday' and its skipping pitch shift melodies, and followed by 'Lotus Protocol' and its almost Richard D. hook. On the flip we have the title track, slow and building, very much the 'theme' of the piece. The EP finishes with 'Electrical Surge', and its static crackle of radio interference and damaged power lines. Whatever you do, stay on the tracks

'White of the Eye' is the first release under "Nothing but Blood" from Scott Fraser, a direct link back to Scott's earlier 90's work and sound around the darker realms of techno and harder-edged Chicago house. The EP title refers back to a favourite Donald Cammell film of Scott's from 88'. 'White of the Eye' on the A-side is an 11 minute extended mix of the lead cut. Silent Servant on remix duties delivers an amyl fuelled techno bomb landing somewhere in an 80's new york basement. Diving deeper on B2 it features Atlanta resident Claire Elise Tippins on vocals.

Crimes of the Future is a new label from Timothy J Fairplay & Scott Fraser, and follows on from their night of the same name at the Berkeley Suite, Glasgow and in Plastic People, London. Timothy and Scott both work out of Andrew Weatherall's 'Basement Bunker' studio on Scrutton Street and are part of a group of DJ's becoming known as 'The Scrutton Street Axis'. Timothy is also one half of The Asphodells with Andrew Weatherall who released their first album 'Ruled by Passion, Destroyed by Lust' this year on Rotters Golf Club. Over the last few years between them Scott & Timothy have released music on BIrd Scarer, World Unknown, Astro Lab, Emotional Response/Relish, Magic Feet among others. Crimes of the Future's output is going to be harder edged and more up tempo than many of the labels both have generally been associated with, they want to express their love for leftfield house & techno. Release number one comes from the mysterious Antoine Rouge with his 'Spook Juke' EP. Timothy for a while was letting cult leader and spiritualist Antoine use the studio during the evenings. Unfortunately the relationship turned sour when Antoine broke the Pro One, was abusive when Timothy complained, and then did a runner with the Boss DR55 drum machine. Last seen in Sierra Leone, he did however leave quite a lot of recorded music on Timothy's hard drive. All in his distinctive deep house/techno style - or 'deep donk' as Antoine likes to call it. This first collection is a four tracker, joining the dots between Antoine's influences of European 70's synth slop & 80's chi-town slam-jack.
