Release Note:
Boris Bunnik returns to the Fluid Electronics label after his remix for Rob Belleville. This is his first outing under the Vernon Felicity alias since 2016. Boris - better known for his work as Conforce and Versalife, steps up with four cuts joining the dots between sci-fi-infused scenarios, rapturous synthy vistas and AI-powered club dynamism, bound to have dance floors phasing in a paradox of hi-intensity wares and textures-splattered sonics tailored to maximal effect.

Breaking the EP in, "Chord Memory" lets out a thunder of raucous machine gargling. Navigating a league of its own, halfway proper muscular EBM and no-frills techno from the deep, this one attacks pedal to the metal with great loads of aggro kicks, rattling snares and monster bass swells surging upon the ravers with ominous presence. Doped on laser blasts and liquid-like vintage keyboardry, "Hindsight" blazes a trail of dusty acidness across, laying it thick with FX-riddled stabs and octave-shifting pads out an oddly distorted VHS score.

Flip it over and here is "Contemplation" - a synth-heavy, Chicagoan style mover, smoothly drifting into Blade Runner-esque hyperspace as bars run by. From minute first to last, VF serves up a premium skittish and playful disco chug endowed with the right dose of neon-doused, widescreen escapism to keep the brain and body organically synced. Final number "Alternate" tops it off on an even breezier note, pulling out an impeccable arsenal of crudely dressed hats, solar-powered keys and stealth sub bass moves that simply do not let loose on their raving prey until all lights have gone out for good.

Vernon Felicity is also known as Conforce and Boris Bunnik, the tireless Dutch producer who marries analog and digital sounds together into otherworldy sound tracks. Now he is back on MOS once more after a new Conforce album on Delsin, and again he impresses with his unique ear for detail and ability to craft intricate sonic worlds. The label's excellent 23rd EP kicks off with 'Fake Profile', an icy bit of deep techno with a sprawling 303 acid line and typically deep and soulful pads in the background. Dance floor ready but also super heady, it is rich in detail but full of groove. 'Induce' is a more broken beat pattern with lumpy 909 drums, lazy open hi hats and gloopy bass. Sombre, downbeat chords add real emotional resonance to this mid tempo house cut as it slowly trudges though the cosmos. The flip finds 'Dropping Faces' get all manic and out of control, with whirring machines, wild drum programming and plenty of angst percussion. Subtle cow bells and distortion add texture and scale and it is the angriest cut here. Lastly, 'Running Late' rounds out an expertly varied EP with lush synth drones that slowly uplift you as the drums and percussion do their slick work down below. Once again, Vernon Felicity proves he can make every style of electronic music, and does so with real personality. More

The unstoppable Boris Bunnik is back once again, this time as Vernon Felicity with a four track EP for MOS Recordings. The tracks see him explore his usual analogue heavy sound, but there is a little more space in his arrangements, a more rueful mood. The title track 'Dawning' is slow and purposeful, with acid pricks and twitches peppering a churning groove. Next, 'Breaking Silence' is more kinetic, with claps, hits and squiggly melodies all bouncing off each other as pronounced basslines strike a melancholic note below. On the flip, 'Wrong Notion' has plenty of height to it, again with eco systems of analogue lines and acid belches all weaving their way around each other and the raw, splintered beats below, before last track '3' explores wide open cosmic synth spaces with lingering pads, mournful Blade Runner style synth lines and gently churning rhythms all soothing your brain and body in equal measure.

The Clone Basement series dedicated to the true spirit of techno and music that excels in a dark smokey and isolated basement (including the dark corners of your brain) comes up with its first album release. This album explores the spiritual side of techno with a full length album by Finnish artist Aleksi Perala constructed from parts of the various Colundi Sequence levels presented so far. This is a limited triple album containing the spirit of the Colundi Sequence and showcasing the multiplicity of emotions and conditions as defined through the Colundi Scales. These scales are 128 resonant frequencies chosen via experimentation and philosophy, each relating to a specific human bio-resonance, or psychology, traditional mysticism or belief, physics, astronomy, maths, chemistry. For the new Basement Series we have Darko Esser in his Tripeo guise. Classic techno tracks carefully crafted for use in our favorite basements and sweaty clubs. It starts of with Kuebiko, a long drawn-out cut led by a trippy arpeggiated melody matched by a deep pulsating bass. Next is Nargy, an almost completely stripped to the barebones track that draws it energy from an undulating and relentless bassline. This one just keeps on going and going and going... As closer the quirky Qwerty where crisp hi-hats and snares set the pace over a modulating ”Hoodesque” melody that floats in and out of the track.

After Conforce's tight album release on Delsin and other concept projects he did he/we went wild with this one and selected some tracks we just want to play out loud in a club from vinyl (incl. a killer remix by Gesloten Cirkel for the title track). At first sight these tracks dont have much in common... and probably still not for the second listen, but we didnt really bother for this one. It will be a standard in our dj box for the coming months with 4 tracks that all have a bit of a different groove and a different mood. Grain, Be There At Night, 24 and 24 remixed by Gesloten Cirkel. This is probably as versatile as a Clone Basement release can get.

Untold dropping two big tracks that will let no dancefloor unimpaired! After many amazing releases in the past years we have been impressed many times by his work. Now somehow everything falls at place for a Clone release, with Untold somehow bridging the gap between uk Bass music and the more 4/4 spectrum of music that we think must be experienced in a no-nonsense setting with a proper soundsystem (which is the main inspiration for the Basement series).
