HAVEN is proud to invite Berlin-based Canadian artist Ryan James Ford for his second appearance on the label, this time with a full 5-track EP of dark tripped out dance floor weaponry following from their track on the second Sardonic Tonality compilation as well as his huge album on Clone in 2021 and an EP on Mama Told Ya earlier this year.

The A1 launches with 'Lost In The L.E.S.' with its threatening synth rising and falling alongside quick vocal chops and rolling drum rhythms providing the perfect start to this collection showcasing the murkier side of Ryan's production. The A2 continues on this tip with 'Ekstase' - where distorted percussions and a cheeky scream sample bounce off the sombre synthesiser programming in another slab of quirky 4-4 experimentation. The A3 closes the first side with 'Undertow (S02E05)', a certified club banger making fine use of distorted kicks, bouncy rhythmic work and dub-style synth stabs in another unique brain twister.

On the flip the B1 keeps things rolling with 'The Promise Of Money' - another peculiar workout full of experimental textures, dusky synth melodies and charging drums to keep feet moving. The B2 closes the record with 'Parllyster (92 Mix)', which takes a brighter turn with its euphoric melody and gravely bass alongside punchy broken rhythms that quickly turn in to pounding four-to-the-floor in this club-heavy offering from the Canadian producer.

The Clone Basement series dedicated to the true spirit of techno and music that excels in a dark smokey and isolated basement (including the dark corners of your brain) comes up with its first album release. This album explores the spiritual side of techno with a full length album by Finnish artist Aleksi Perala constructed from parts of the various Colundi Sequence levels presented so far. For the new Basement Series we have Darko Esser in his Tripeo guise. Classic techno tracks carefully crafted for use in our favorite basements and sweaty clubs. It starts of with Kuebiko, a long drawn-out cut led by a trippy arpeggiated melody matched by a deep pulsating bass. Next is Nargy, an almost completely stripped to the barebones track that draws it energy from an undulating and relentless bassline. This one just keeps on going and going and going... As closer the quirky Qwerty where crisp hi-hats and snares set the pace over a modulating ”Hoodesque” melody that floats in and out of the track.

After Conforce's tight album release on Delsin and other concept projects he did he/we went wild with this one and selected some tracks we just want to play out loud in a club from vinyl (incl. a killer remix by Gesloten Cirkel for the title track). At first sight these tracks dont have much in common... and probably still not for the second listen, but we didnt really bother for this one. It will be a standard in our dj box for the coming months with 4 tracks that all have a bit of a different groove and a different mood. Grain, Be There At Night, 24 and 24 remixed by Gesloten Cirkel. This is probably as versatile as a Clone Basement release can get.

Delkom's only known previously released album. Originally released in 1990 by the wonder duo consisting of Saba Komossa and Gabi Delgado. The album is released as a continuous mix with each track delineated on the grooves.
Imagine Berlin in 1990, the wall is about to come down, no social media, no CDJs, new drugs are being standardized and this is the soundtrack to your night out in this debaucherous capital, exploding with energies that anthropology PhD students still haven't been able to fully describe. The entire record sounds like a dub mix that almost wasn't allowed to be released by the record label, unorthodox in its methods, too experimental for most studios yet highly effective on the best of dancefloors. All killer, no filler. Sexually charged lyrics, driving percussive rawness over heftily synthesized bass lines, all boxes are checked for total club mayhem. Pioneers in their own right, clearly marking their territory in Berlin dancefloor culture from its early post reunification days.

Sales Note
Spanish producer Vilchezz debuts on slash with one of KI/KI's longest awaited dancefloor hits to date. The title track Camelo's is doing rounds in her DJ sets for a couple of years and is easily the highlight of many gigs, finally the day is now there to present it on her own slash label.

It all started just with a Soundcloud demo a year ago when Fasta Danza crew member Vilchezz shared some of his new music with KI/KI. Now residing in Budapest, his new EP also marks a significant change in styles for Vilchezz, with his new works leaning more towards energetic, trance tinged hard grooves. And that's exactly the sweet spot where he meets KI/KI and her slash imprint. After playing the Camelo's demo inside-out around the world a full release is now finally formed. A full pack backed with another original Eskorbuto - which feels like a future classic uplifting trance drifter - and three remixes another chapter on slash is there.

For the remixes KI/KI and Vilchezz invited Oslo based trance producer and UTE.REC label co-owner Filip Storsveen aka Oprofessionell. He turns Camelo's into a magnificent introvert eyes closed club weapon. Where Glasgow's Animal Farm resident AISHA comes in fierce with a powerful early 00's twist combined with an impeccable psy drive. And to finalize the pack, fast rising star CAIVA reworked Eskorbuto by adding her own vocals to the original and by doing so she adds an impressive, emotive festival banger to a well rounded set of modern trance gems.

Self-titled debut album of Habitat Ensemble, a new musical collective headed up by musician Marius Houschayer.

The collective originates deep in the south of the Czech Republic, on the border with Austria, amongst the idyllic hills and fields of a village called Maríž, where a summer school of outsiders and creatives have been gathering since the 1990s. Enriching each other through intercultural exchange, summer school participants have created a unique gathering of artistic expression and interdisciplinary research.

Originally grown out of the idea of translating the unique energy of the community and its environment into a musical journey where each member makes their own individual contribution, during the summer of August 2022, The Habitat Ensemble became an exciting vehicle for connection and co-creation.

Whether it be musical experimentation, composition, poetry, song or dance, Habitat Ensemble, having started as a series of multidisciplinary workshops, slowly developed into a unique musical recording. The album serves to conjure the unique nature, community, experimentation surrounding the school and the collective’s search for harmony across all of these, both musical and spiritual.

We love to just try things at Athens of the North and when Clara and Theo (one of our PR friends) were chilling with us at pikes one evening it came up in conversation that Theo has a lovely singing voice and fancied having a spin in the studio. Roll on a month later, and they were home in Edinburgh, and we threw ourselves into a couple of days of experimenting, this little electro floater we were all super pleased with came out of the session. Tonight is a super late night CR78 drum machine mashed work out with a Theo's floaty falsetto smashing out the park, we flipped the OG with a brilliant dubbed out mix that's not to be slept on either.
