red rack'em - Nothing Without You (feat Misumami)
2
red rack'em - Love Beat
Unlucky 013? Ha! This one’s a pearler. Multi talented producer Red Rack’em climbs up the fertile n s y d e spirit tree for this glowing summer release in the form of the ‘Nothing Without You’ EP. A mutation from the same skunky-soul strain of n s y d e 005 by Skymark / Lady Blacktronika. The title cut is a result of a Red Rack’em tour through the south pacific, connecting with Inkswell and fam. What was meant to be a Rack’em / Inkswell track instead ended up with Australian vocalist, now Berlin diamond in the rough: Misumami liberally sprinkling her magic throughout. With a proposed subject matter based around missing loved ones while apart, Misumami weaves an enchanting story of longing, and matters of the heart, through signature sleek, clever, floor ready Rack’em production. Flip for ‘Love Beat’ and here we get Red Rack’em- the Funky Technician fanboy, dusty fingered Native Tongue devotee, and closet Jazz dancer. The loose, bumping drum programming and sculpted, cubist jazz sampling (inna heavy Mandalorian funk fashion) weld this nocturnal seduction dance together. This is a late night groover, an eyes closed on the dance floor vibration. Both sides are modern, vital, considered House music, where the problems of the world dissolve in a heads down- vibes up situation. Mastered by Pole at Scapemastering so you know it’s gonna bang...

Red Rack'em - Overthinking
Red Rack’em is back with a new series devoted to the beautiful, self torturous art of overthinking, With the whole world stuck in a funk of uncertainty, it feels like a good time to blast away those cobwebs of uncertainty and release some music inspired by procrastination, quadruple guessing, agonizing over mixdowns (he’s never happy), using volume automation, channel gains AND bussing to create a melange of engineering cross purpose and take the writer even deeper into an artistically redundant mental cul de sac, which bears witness to countless stalled 3 point turn attempts. And that’s on a good day.
‘Train Of Thought’ is a 10 minute opus taking the listener on a head trip across the shattered mind of a post rehab, rave casualty struggling to piece together the last 20 years of memories. Wonky synths, banging breaks, ragga vocals and a 5 stage journey track ensure maximum value per minute. This is a feature length track with zero filler.
‘New August’ is a homage to Dannys smoked out jazz hip hop teen years put through the 2021 blender. Dusty samples and subs mix with an almost 2 step feel. Plenty of sudden changes and a biblical ending with Moses chiselling out the tablets over the top of an insistent beat.
Final thought ‘Overthinking’ closes with a neverending trance inducing arpy synth playing a demented chord sequence before the beat kicks in. Sometimes it’s hard to know when to stop thinking. More

In March 2018, Danny Berman aka Red Rack’em left behind the grey insanity of Berlin and headed off to the idyllic Devon Analogue Studio for the first of several productive musical retreats, giving him unprecedented access to high end synths plus the time and space to create without distraction.
After a solid 18 months of activity post album, which combined some serious air miles, relocation back to the UK (after nearly a decade living in East Berlin) some pretty magical moments, he’s back with a heavy EP of genre crossing magic which ushers forth a more edgy, psychedelic sound.
Like its disco leaning predecessor, Wonky Techno Banger is just simply a track that you have to have in your life. Combining a demented fairground melody, flappy off beat bassline and manic peak time flavour, it’s an absolute thumper which has the potential to radically transform your night/life.
Devon Analogue 4.2 comes from the same session and sees the Bergerac boss man go into euphoric electro funk mode with distorted claps, an ‘ecstasy’ synth and live slap bass.
Meanwhile back in Berlin, Rack’em was also working in Iron Curtis studio while he was on tour in the US so final track Nave Gazing was written using just the Waldorf Nave for a thoughtful ambient number to close off the EP. WIBES.

red rack'em - Wonky Bassline Disco Banger (Leopard Eats Luke Edit)
Strong contender for dance record of the year- Red Rack’em’s incredibly wonderful and fantastically wonky, Disco Banger, was rereleased on Classic this year. After a few months of slowly embedding itself in people subconscious, it returns with new mixes. First up in the marvellously talented KiNK - Strahil is no stranger to Classic, having made a stamp on the label many years ago with his remix 3rd Face. He's gone from strength to strength with his productions which have been accompanied by his glorious live performances. Kink goes in, heads down with some proper techno Wonk. This is indeed a beast. On the flip Luke Solomon joins forces with Bristol’s very own Eats Everything and Lord Leopard, creating a Bristol “Circle of Three.” The Luke Eats Leopard edit adds a slight bit of conformity to the drums and the arrangement, without taking out too much of the Wonk but taking it ever so slightly into “house “ territory.
Overall this is a monstrously Wonky package - and just in time for Xmas too. More

From Da Vaults…Nettles is a new series from Red Rack'ems Bergerac label which will focus on the more sample based end of things. Tracks which have remained secret weapons for many years will finally see the light of day. This first release features music which was played by quite a few heavy hitters but sadly remained lost on the hard drive…until now…‘Bill George starts of as a super funky, cut up electro disco jam which morphs into the mother of all breakdowns before drifting into super deep Detroit style house and then peaking back to the original electro funk vibes. A secret weapon for the likes of Crazy P (who featured it on their Beats In Space mix way back in 2010) and one of Red Rack'em most 'unreleased tracks requested for release', there's going to be quite a few people around the world celebrating Bill George finally making it to wax. A 30 second piece of incidental music from a long lost German children's television series is extended into a late night disco jam 'Timm' which picked up props from none other than Todd Terje when Danny extended it back in the Hot Coins edit days of 2007. Another 'lost' track which is finally seeing release…. Transfer List' began life as a hip hop beat which ended up being such an epic opus that the full glory of the track had to be unleashed. Once again a Cdr classic for a trusted few. A super funky beat evolves into a kind of honky tonk vibe sort of on the KMD tip but with added poppy vocals. Made in 2003

Red Rack'em is a name well known to WOLF fans as he launched the first WOLF White release with his deep house classic 'In Love Again'. He is a master at reworking dusty grooves into peaking house bangers. That is the best way to describe this EP too. 'Do or Die' is a straight up peak of the night disco jam. Big sample, big bass, big track. 'Ooh Ooh Ooh' leans on the soulful side of his sample selections and its wonky but funky composition never fails to turn heads. The final track 'Live At Music Hall' is straight up DEEP. So, something for everyone, no messing.

Available on vinyl (limited to 200 copies, no repress) Scottish born and currently Berlin based DJ/Producer Danny Berman (aka Red Rack'em/Hot Coins) has had a pretty hectic last few years and show no signs of slowing down. Following the anthemic releases on Wolf Music & City Fly Red. he is now ready for his Telefonplan debut. 'I Got Something' and 'Make Your Mind Up' are both dark tracks with punchy basslines that hit deeeeep, pitched-down vocals and plenty of bounce to move any crowd. The surprise is Jan 11 Hip Hop. Get ready for carefully constructed next-level effective drum programming from Mr Berman, and a perfectly balanced third course !

* Red Rack'em enters the warm embrace of RAMP with his latest 12 inch - Chirpsin / All Alone. Red Rack'em has been honing his skills over the past few years with a handful of singles on his own Bergerac label, which have been strongly supported by the RAMP office. As bass music has evolved, Rack'em's dubby, druggy take on house music has become more and more relevant - the signing to RAMP seemed fitting. Expect another 12" and an album over the coming months.

2010 ended with a bang for both Berman and Bergerac with the release of the instant classic first single How I Program, which received massive support from a wide range of DJs including Gilles Peterson, Kyle Hall, The Revenge, Move D and Mike Huckaby. This was quickly followed by the debut Red Rack?em album The Early Years, which was awarded album of the month in De:Bug Magazine and received universal praise from both the press and DJs alike. Since the album was released in November 2010, Danny has been hard at work touring the world and preparing the follow up single Feel My Tears. He?s currently on a sabbatical in Berlin and it?s the perfect backdrop for his current musical direction. The Bergerac label artwork features bespoke illustrations from German artist Silke Eiselt of all the houses Danny has lived in chronologically. The A side Feel My Tears is a warehouse burner on many levels. Perfect for those summer evenings of drug loneliness. B1 Courting is a big room post-post-dustep UK garage-house stomper with a very loud snare drum. The last track on the record How We Do is a strange jazz techno house hybrid, taken from the Early Years album and now available on vinyl due to popular demand.

Mesak - POST SWEAT
lim. to 200 copies!
We are delighted to welcome from the Finnish electronic music underground the artists MESAK to the n s y d e family. Mesak's dedication to experimentation and sonic exploration always excited us. With an extraordinary sense of futuristic sound designs, these tracks are a perfect example of finding the sweet spots between established and new techniques. The First track "Katosi" shows impressively how a contemporary dertroitish sound design is still able to transport ancient human feelings like hope and melancholia at the same time. The acidic grounded "Narina" creates a dungeon space constantly hitting the whiplash snare drum, while "Post Sweat" is pouring golden Larry Heard-like warm Deep House neutrons upon you.
For the Remix, he has invited one of the most interesting artists in the field of electronic experimentation coming out of France, Poborsk, also known under his Bill Vortex moniker.
Mesak's music invites listeners to explore a range of emotions and moods, from the contemplative to the ecstatic, with a sense of sincerity and authenticity that is extraordinarily rare.
House Nation is still under one Groove.

Borderless n s y d e is starting a new series of releases, and Volume 1 comes from close label artist and friend Mobach. Entitled XieniX (which is a phonetical Dutch spelling for “I can’t see anything”) the series is named after an influential 90s club in the city of Gouda that made a lasting impact on the young Mobach. Mobach has won plenty of acclaim with tracks like 2014’s ‘At The Mines of Planet X’ before now and has also turned up on SD Records with fine EPs and LPs. His sound is a fusion of house, jazz, techno and ambient and really takes you to another world. This timeless new EP carries on in that vein.
‘Exotic Drones’ is a sludgy, spacious bit of dubbed out and slow motion techno with lush chords and plenty of alien sound design. The percussion is loose and shape shifting throughout, and the bass that underpins the whole thing is all consuming. ‘XieniX’ then builds in curious and intriguing ways with far of synths and watery droplets pulling you right into the centre of the track. Again slow and purposeful, it’ features some find sound design and is evocative as a result. ‘Apres’ is then a blissfully celestial bit of ambient that floats high in the sky as chords rain down and chugging, broken drums do their thing down below.
This is a moody, soundscaping EP that works as well as home as it does on the dance floor.

Christopher Rau, best known for reliable, soothing and airy deep house, debuts on · n s y d e· with a fresh alias—T.R. "Early" Earl / The Royal Earl Company. T.R. "Early" Earl might be his rawest work to date. Nsyde's philosophy is releasing timeless techno / true house and beyond. We think Rau's latest work fulfills this. Opener "A Bad Conduction" is a beautifully evolving stripped down to the bone techno track, featuring slapping hi-hats and dubby basslines. One to get lost in! reduced to the point. "Turn Loose" is a pleasantly distorted analogue house gem, exchanging Rau's usual airy deep house (released on labels like Smallville, Aim and Office) for a laid-back peak-time jam, but still packing all the charming elements Rau stands for. This melody, oh this melody. Deep groover "Getting Up At Noon" closes things off with deep strings and absorbing piano pads. Suitable for late hour DJ sets, this is an excellent track for those who like to take things deeper. A little bonus for the heads is included on the vinyl. 7 Locked grooves for the extraordinary mixing pleasures.

Touching upon dance musiculatory milestones like Detroit Techno and Electro, NSYDE007 sees TYON, a well-known but besides this moniker for now anonymous traveller, summoning up atmospheres totally his own. This is space music. But not in the Ra sense. Take the A-Side “Flaw 11”, for instance. This is space music in the way it catapults you out, like the most terrible mistake made by man-machine, into the farthest reaches of an ever faster expanding universe, dark energy tearing at your nipples until they rip off, resemblances of melody orchestrating the drama/bliss of event horizon passage. It’s dark yet beautiful, like the smile on a dying person’s face, and a heavily psychedelic trip at that – but fear not! You won’t be subjected to any despicable noodleage here, just to weird, intensely warped sounds you want to dance your ass off to. “Make It Fat” on the other side is the sci-fi equivalent to Hänsel und Gretel: a perpetuating feeding of the child-to-be-eaten. The finest in Andromeda’s hyper-fattening molecular cuisine gets crammed into the gagging brat as doom is looming over its forehead. And with every spoon that’s being recklessly punched into the poor little demon’s face it is getting closer to its, as well as the dancer’s ultimate goal: total nirvana. Pressed on black vinyl.

When a young guy from Copenhagen sent us his music, a single listen was all it took to notice the special talent at work here. It was obvious that these tracks deserved an immediate release. As fate would have it, 1 years have passed since. The tracks however, never lost any of their timeless depth. Theology student Samuel André Madsen from Denmark knows how to combine single elements into a groove collage defying all stereotypes. Northwest Cave Groove is brushed lightly against the grain, against all expectations, opens up once the chords hit. Moodsy (12” vinyl exclusive) opens with a warm hypnotic sound carpet that is hard to resist. The following breaks sends the track into stasis. Finally, Achterbahn D ´Amour rebuild the original track into an epic, tercet-laden, 9 min. acid monster with a classic 808/909 barrage. At the end elegiac strings convert it into a and yet surprisingly thriving field of flowers.

n s y d e · is delighted to welcome another outstanding artists within our little growing family, Imugem Orihasam. With this EP nsyde indulges his love for pure detroit techno. Imugem Orihasam succeeds like no other to balance apparent opposites by using cool and clear transparency in contrast to the mesmerizing and warm pulsating soundscapes to create depth of the highest quality. If Jeff Mills and John Beltran would ever have collaborated then it would probably sound like A1 ?Gleam From Distant Gate? is one of those tracks which seem quite unremarkable first, but with the time it creates a massiv hypnotic attraction, a wormhole-like effect you cannot escape from. That space seems endless, just right big enough to loose yourself in it.
B1 ?Misty Evening? seems to be just the right soundtrack to build an underwater metropolisis. It starts building a 2 minute elevated tension before its firering on all cylinders. B2 ?Kotoni? is clearest balance and harmony. It sooths your soul like the presense of a japanese garden. spirits are floating free ? time and space is marvelous! Welcome Imugem Orihasam! More
