Following the release of his new collaborative album Tall Tales with Thom Yorke, a 2LP vinyl repress of Mark Pritchard’s previous solo album Under The Sun will be available on 25 July via Warp Records.

Originally released in 2016, Under The Sun is one story told in chapters and, as with any good story, the spell is only maintained if you don't skip to the end. Pritchard, as usual, defies easy categorisation and that is what gives depth and nuance to this work. He draws on the sounds and influences genetically coded in his musical DNA; ambient, nu-wave, avant-garde electronics and folk; but reimagines them through an otherworldly filter that cements Under The Sun somewhere in the future, rather than the past.

The album features contributions from peers and friends including Thom Yorke, Linda Perhacs, Bibio, and Beans, and explores themes of beauty, desolation, and longing for home.

Aside from a handful of tracks made available via his own website, Mark Pritchard hasn't released much in the last few years - though as this first EP as MP Productions shows, he's kept himself busy. More sharply club-focused than many of his albums, the six-track set sees him bounce between his melodious and summery take on early noughties eight-bar grime ('Be Like Water'), dreamy, high-tempo post-IDM lusciousness ('In My Heart'), next level lo-fi acid jack ('J Is For...'), child-scaring Drexciyan electro heaviness ('One Way Mirror') and an insanely percussion and bass-heavy take on gqom ('Rakatak'). The EP also includes his infamous and sough- after re-wire of LFO's 'LFO', here titled 'LFO Special', which re-imagines the bleep & Bass classic as a future dancehall anthem.

London braingaze experimenters Seefeel return with Sol.Hz, their first full-length album in 15 years and a carrying-on of the hazy IDM that saw to their becoming one of Warp Records' most distinctive early signings. Famously among the first acts on the label to fold guitars into an electronic framework, the group again dissolve the adumbrations of shoegaze, dub and ambient techno, a now much-exploited sonic terrain by sound revivalists today. Squarepusher is back on Warp with Kammerkonzert - Tom Jenkinson's 16th studio album and a harmony-driven electronic "chamber concerto" structured across 14 movements, from 'K1 Advance' to 'K14 Welbeck'. Following 2024's Dostrotime - a sound-thesis on the crystallisation of time in the COVID era, frozenness expressed in breakbeats - and arriving after Warp's recent reissue of his early 'Stereotype' EP makings from 1994, here Jenkinson foregrounds the orchestra, as baroque-tinged harmonies, chamber-like arrangements and intricate interplays discourse through his trademark electronic toolkit, patience be damned despite the real instrumentation. Early previews such as 'K2 Central' suggest a more reflective Squarepusher, folding IDM complexity into the architecture of a modern concerto while extending the classical-meets-machine tension running through his work since Hard Normal Daddy and Ultravisitor.

This is Nala Sinephro's debut original film score, for Benny Safdie's The Smashing Machine, which was premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival (to a 15min standing ovation!!) ahead of its official release on October 3rd. The Smashing Machine explores the story of legendary mixed martial arts & UFC fighter Mark Kerr, and it stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt. The score was composed, produced, arranged, mixed and mastered by Nala Sinephro, and it features performances by longstanding collaborators James Mollison, Nubya Garcia, Lyle Barton, Dwayne ‘Wonky Logic’ Kilvington, Morgan Simpson, Natcyet Wakili, Mark Mollison and Sheila Maurice-Grey. As well as the London orchestra Orchestrate, who previously provided strings for Sinephro’s 2024 critically acclaimed album, Endlessness.

Originally released in 1993, Surfing On Sine Waves is the second album released under the Warp Artificial Intelligence series (the series also includes the two titular compilations, as well as contributions by Autechre, The Black Dog, F.U.S.E. and more).

Surfing On Sine Waves is also the sole album released under Richard D. James’ (aka Aphex Twin’s) Polygon Window alias. The name “Polygon Window” originally appeared as a track name under Richard D. James’ other pseudonym The Dice Man, as the track title for his submission on Artificial Intelligence. Surfing On Sine Waves was chosen as a title by Rob Mitchell based on a quote by Richard D. James. The album debuted at #2 on the UK dance charts. The album was followed the same year with a companion EP titled Quoth. The EP’s title track originally appeared on the album, accompanied by additional songs who first appeared on this release.

Fast forward 32 years to 2025, Surfing On Sine Waves (Expanded Edition) sees the pair of companion releases as a single entity, out on vinyl and CD.
