French electronic musician and film director Quentin Dupieux, best known by his pseudonym Mr. Oizo (pronounced Wah-zoh) is releasing his new album Stade 2 on November 28 via Ed Banger Records and Because Music. Marking his fourth album, Oizo takes his eccentricity to a new level with one of the most intriguing upcoming releases to date. 2014 ONE TIME repress/re-rerelease of CS007 in it´s original sleeve /art/ labeldesign!

In the dead of winter, I visited Nico in his apartment in Providence, Rhode Island. He had just finished composing "Don't Break My Love," the A-side of his new EP and his first song since Space is Only Noise. He seemed solemn, but I didn't ask why. The next night, I witnessed a rare occurrence: Nico DJ-ed a small party. We danced all night in a brick-walled loft as snow fell outside. Half a year later and a continent away, the B-side, "Why Didn't You Save Me," arrived. Nico wrote it one sleepless night after a show in Germany. He spent the rest of the tour developing the song, letting it grow.
The rhythms on the EP unravel slowly. As the songs progress, they fill up with rapid-fire hi-hats and mechanical percussion. The faster strikes meet slower beats and the songs seem to stretch; they feel pulled in both directions almost ad infinitum. After the tour, I re-listened to the EP, a ten inch vinyl, with Nico in his apartment in New York. He told me he had been singing more and more, and sampling less. The EP foreshadowed an evolving sound within Clown & Sunset, he explained, and previewed an upcoming compilation by the same name, replete with new talent.
When the B-side wound down, and the clavinet faded out, Nico placed his finger tip on the edge of the record, slowing it to a crawl. With the resonance of our feelings, we remained still for a while after, as silence enveloped us.

We are proud to present the debut album from tINI, an integral member of the Desolat family since 2009.
Her album is named "Tessa", after a music-loving friend who supported her transformation as a producer and DJ. It's not only islands that need to be travelled to: developing a sound is a true journey, and one's changing environments naturally play a role in that evolution. tINI, formerly of Munich, now resides in Berlin. Her version of house music is still representative of her electrifying, wired-up DJ sets, but there's a new spaciousness and urban gleam to these moods, filtered through the more laid back, surreal atmospheres of the island of Ibiza, where the majority of the album was produced.
Tessa kicks off with "Divided" as a statement of intent: this is no formulaic house music, but rather something personal and idiosyncratic. A contemplative mood sets the scene for gentle off-kilter palpitations. "Blonde Galipette" settles into the groove, with plenty of delay on rhythmic elements as a robotic interpretation of lonely shipyard sounds, and a growing tide of bass. "Mine Has A Shower" is a wink to the adopted spaces and unlikely comrades of an island dedicated to music; while "All The Good Stuff" is a tongue in cheek salute, referencing the tales told to new friends in the deepest hours of the morning.
You can tell that tINI had fun making this music - and that it has unfolded, as a testament to her experiences.
She says, "For me a song is like my very own diary. My way to express my feelings in that very moment: from absolute joy to deepest melancholy." Tracks like "My Shine", "Canta la Testoasa" and "Maria, Louise and Bert" bolster the album with relaxed dancefloor vibes, while "Triptease" veers slightly closer to a boompty house pattern. "tINI Meets Jack - Medusa" brings an uplifting snap, "Monkey's Cave" simmers and "Fail Better" unspools some compelling minimal house vibes. Lastly, on "Someone Loves You", tINI's debut Ibiza season wraps to a close with that same contemplative mood.
"I put these feelings and friends' vocals from that time into my songs: reworking my old (heartache) songs, I 'cleaned my inside up.'"

It's a love story: Stil vor Talent have long been mad about Niconé and Sascha Braemer so that the recent past has seen some very memorable releases by the two producers. Now it's about time they join forces to release a whole album together, of which the first set of two vinyl packages is taken. Known for their often very musical techno and house productions, "Romantic Thrills Part 1" encapsulates this style while adding an extra element of sex and pop appeal, without straying too far from the dancefloor.
"Pianotic", "Runaway" and "Caje" are three prime examples of how to incorporate piano, trumpet or guitar melodies organically into electronic music without sounding artificial. The melodies on "Pianotic" make you want to hug the world again and again. Meanwhile, the guitar on "Runaway" adds a deeply melancholic element to a track underlined by wonderful singing, which bears the odd nod to Radiohead. "Caje" takes the Spanish guitar to the dancefloor, makes everyone sit in a circle and clap their hands to this Iberian summer wonder. The sun will break through the clouds when you put this on. Finally, "Little Love" progresses slowly towards deeper techno terrain with great sounding synth leads and basslines. Keeping the vocal elements central to the arrangement, it makes for a brilliantly deep and soulful tech anthem. Clearly, every track here is a winner, so that this EP is a must-have for vinyl lovers and DJs alike!

Even after the success of Diary ?1 - Upon You's first CD label compilation - it was clear that the Berlin crew wasn't through with their adventures and had every intention to keep documenting them (and doodling in the margins, too). With nearly 70 releases in their catalog and with recurring label nights held in their hometown's top clubs Berghain/Panorama Bar and Watergate, Upon You felt it was time to make another full-length statement in the form of Diary ?2, compiling 12 new, exclusive tracks, showing the label's wide sonic spectrum within the realm of techno and house music. But Diary ?2 isn't just some uninspired victory lap. Whereas the first edition was curated by Marco Resmann (who co-runs Upon You along with Hawks Grunert), this time the honor goes to DJ/producer Marcus Meinhardt, a core member of the Upon You artistry and bookings roster as well as co-founder of the legendary HomeSweetHome party series in Berlin. Another core difference here is that while our first compilation focused solely on our own home-grown talent, this sequel invites some international like-minded friends in on the action - such as Mark Henning, Douglas Greed, The Glitz, Melohman, Javi Bora and RifRaf - in addition to regulars like Gunnar Stiller, Pele and ONNO & Marcus Gehring. From pristine pulsations to clattering percussion, from warm timbres to frigid synths, Diary ?2 covers all the bases, in line with the rich past of techno and house, but clearly without any retro fetishism. Douglas Greed sets the tone with the seductive opener "Sense", featuring the demure Delhia de France cooing "Everything was buzzing and sizzling and fizzing and twisting", while RifRaf contributes the fuzzy, buggy "Down from Heaven" which demands the fog machine be cranked up to 11. One of the compilation's highlights (a relative term, as all 12 tracks are highlights!) is the first collaboration between Marco Resmann and Emerson Todd, the bewitching "Cursed", which seems to melt sine waves until they evaporate in the air. In between more spartan and darker moments, The Glitz and Nico Stojan lighten the mood with their respective looney tunes "Orange Blossom" - which would definitely make it into Woody Woodpecker's DJ bag - and "Inflagranti" - the kind of track that makes you think you have 5.1 ears on your head. And of course our tastemaker Meinhardt wouldn't neglect to include himself, here bringing a slice of colorful, synthetic tropicalia titled "Splash". Finally, up-and-coming duo Melohman & Javi Bora close out the collection on a graceful, somber note with the operatic "Moldavia". Aside from the elegantly packaged CD, be on the lookout for a 12" vinyl sampler, and stay tuned for announcements on a corresponding Diary tour starting in October with a rotating cast of players throughout Europe, lasting until February 2012, which will bring us to Upon You's fifth anniversary - sure to offer more juicy stories to be transcribed in the label's ongoing history…

Watergate records is back with their 5th vinyl edition. Once again it focuses on exclusive tracks from the highly successful mix CD series, named simply after the club: Watergate. As far as the mixes go they are now up to their ninth edition, which is mixed by the well known Schwarz brothers, better known to House
music fans as: Tiefschwarz.
Their sharp ears have hunted down vocals from Nigeran singer, Mama, who has along with the brothers, cooked up the sexy House number ‘Corporate Butcher’, exclusively for the boys’ Watergate 09 mix CD. Mama’s lyrics clearly address the financial sysem that is plaguing the whole world by known, by shedding light on who exactly has created the problem. Her lyrics express the frustration, but contort them into fuel for the weekend events that helo us to forget our troubles. The Schwarz brothers, alongside Santé, have layered sleek House beats over a club-rumbling bass that mesh effortlessly with Mama’s sultry voice and politically charged vocals.
Dynamics founder Solomun puts this track in porno territory that is sure to get the handbags and the hard bodies bee-lining to the dance floor. On the flip, half of Zander VT, Fritz Zander, take the track deep and spruce it up with a few more melodies. Both come correct on remix duties with their club approved versions
of ‘Corporate Butcher’. Early support has come from Dixon, Âme, H.O.S.H, and of course Solomun

SIDE B-RESET YOU: The release's other perfect half. The right track if you are into serious tech house. The Hypnotic atmosphere is supported by a skillful side-chain. The voice sample keeps perfect tension without being too bulky. The rhythm climbs up to the ride entrance, maintaining it's presence in the middle break as well. At this point the track is already playing: from now you have to raise the stakes on your dj set, you can't go back.
The productions of We Reset are the fruit of their love for live music. Folco and Alessandro are two Roman producers born to recreate in studio the atmosphere of the dance floor through hot and melodious sounds often created with the use of anologic synthesisers built with their own hands. Straight Vacationing dives into the genre in all it's rich variety: From deep melodic, early Chicago influenced Acid House, Jacking-Jedi Mind Tricks to Disco-type grooves and last but not least excursions into Bizzaro World, with a vaz typical almost psychedelic experimental-edged Sound, it's all there. The album perks up the moment the first track, "Detroit In Me," appears and when its acidy bass line percolates so determinedly alongside a female vocal motif ("I just need to put a little Detroit in Me), leaving little doubt as to the style in question, but Vaz polishes the track's Detroit surfaces to a mirror-like sheen. A little bit similar to what Maceo Parker might sound like soloing over a funky Detroit-styled base, saxophonist Andreas Pasternack spreads his creamy playing all over "Stubnitz" and in so doing bolsters the album's already soulful character. The album's poppiest moment arrives in "Just Another Round," whose hooks Vaz powers with a lead bass line and sweetens with a chirping female vocal. The funky-as-hell bass playing and the music's cold sweat, not to mention the honk of Pasternack's sax, might remind listeners of a certain age of the J.B.'s, James Brown's '70s band. On the experimental tip there's "Fukuoka Liquid," a bubbly, acid-techno shape-shifter featuring a hammering groove overlaid with synth smears, and "Worlds Collide," an exercise in jacking acid-house - old school all the way. The Album features occasional guest players contributing to the house-driven sun-showers of for example "The Other Place" to a, well, whole other place - So what are you waiting for? Meet us there!
