The Guns boys have been firing gems at us recently but this release is possibly their strongest to date. TapeEdit 006 is a 4 track 12” which is all killer no filler. First up is David 'Fathead' Newman's 1978 Jazz-funk / Disco killer 'Keep the dream alive' which is a drum and flute driven funk monster, lovingly extended and amended - watch out for the midway drum break, you won't be disappointed. On the inside is the relentless bass twisting, rhythm guitar focused 'Ups and downs' with a vocal line and brass section that will leave you wanting more. On the flip is the Brit funk inspired 'Pass the music on' which sees the smooth sax and bass of Morrissey Mullen given a massive guns workout.
Last but in no way least is Eastbound Expressways 'Never let go' rework with it's beefed up kick and envelope filtered guitar it will fit nicely into any dance floor set and brings this CTG release to a solid finish.

Continuing their fine Tape Edit series of releases the Check The Guns boys bring us a 4 track EP packed with expertly sliced up gems.
First up is Greg Hendersons "Dreamin'" which is given a CTG workout that should move any discrerning dance floor.
Next up is the cow bell and bass guitar grinding work out of "Love Somebody". On the flip side "Disco Magic" brings the funk to the table and finally "Can't shake" is an old school cut up with a vintage feel.

Check The Guns are back with the second to last instalment in their Tape edit series. It’s onwards and upwards for 004 where side one sees a deconstructed work out of The Fatback Bands ‘The girl is so fine’. Track 2 ‘House down’ is a no holds barred party tune for the discerning dance floor that will do all the work for you. On the flip ‘Sugar samba’ is a rework of the London records classic from Julia and co. Finishing off we have an edit of Heatwaves ‘Super Soul Sister’ which is a gem of a vocal funk track that gives as good as it gets and leaves you wanting more.
