In 2009, Circus Company opened their doors to two inspiring young artists, Willie Graff & Tucillo. Inspired by the endless landscapes and sound architecture the white Isle, the duo went on to release the deep, complex and grinding "Atracktion" Ep on Circus Company. Receiving instant recognition for their weighted and diverse sound, "Atracktion" fell instantly in line with the labels consistent standard of quality electronic music, making Circus Company's 39th release an immediate success.
2011, and the passionate duo are back for their second Circus Company Ep "Poseidonia". 'Go Deep' sends the Ep off to a flying start as aboriginal echoes and dusty orange tones set the scene. As tribal pockets burst, the track unfolds with rattle snake shakers and the "I want to go deep" vocal playing on a desert plain with rich drum patterns and the rhythmic concoction of a pounding bass line. 'Go Deep' conjures a playful, flirting encounter with the dance floor and leaves us to explore the next pathway of Ep's title track 'Poseidonia'.
The unravelling journey of 'Poseidonia' first presents itself with crisp, swishing sound bites that twirl with a heavy and relentless kick. One by one, the journeys elements arrive and change subtlety; the rapidity of the shaker, the crunching hats and an underlying bass line that alters its course with smug ease. 'Poseidonia' shines with hypnotic simplicity from it's opening to its close, coaxes the imagination to endless possibilities. Bursting sound pockets, trickling drops and ascending bubbles...'Poseidonia' reaches the depths of the twisted mind.
On the Ep's digital bonus 'Sextacy', things yet again change direction with sensual stuttering house vocals and a raw kick drum of muffled grit. 'Sextacy' is intricately contrasting as its mysterious and dark bed flirts with the tracks light and airy high ends. The "Poseidonia" Ep displays a multi faceted soundscape and once again, a finely executed piece of work from Willie Graff & Tuccillo for Circus Company.

British born, Berlin based DJ, producer and sound designer Tommy Four Seven is at the front of the new generation of Techno artists, creating his trademark deep and uncompromising sounds. Learning to DJ from a young age, at 17, Tommy held a 2 year residency at Fire Club, London whilst appearing at legendary venues such as Fabric, The End and Turnmills. Producing was also an early interest and Tommy soon began releasing on David Duriez's, Brique Rouge and Kill Brique label, before launching his own imprint called Shooting Elvis. After studying Music Technology in London, Tommy moved to Berlin and has been steadily building his catalogue of strong, moody and hypnotic tracks such as his 2009 hit, 'Surma' on Speedy J's Electric Deluxe and more recently, 'Sor' on CLR, not forgetting the before mysterious 'Bauhaus' project with Chris Liebing. Tommy's approach to music is unlike a musician. Instead, he prefers to sound design, recording and sculpting elements into deep engaging atmospheres. An impressive example of this extraordinary production ethos is debut artist album "Primate", just released on CLR. When Chris Liebing first listened to it, he was immediately fascinated and amazed. This different avenue of Techno seemed to be perfectly in line with the new, slightly more free-spirited and experimental CLR philosophy. That is why apart from offering to release the record, he even got involved with the finishing touches of the production, helping to make (as Tommy called it) "the bass sound mega-hot".
Therefore CLR proudly presents a further outstanding series of remixes by the likes of Robert Hood, Speedy J, Terence Fixmer, Perc, Regis, Chris Liebing, Singha, Luke Slater and some more.... The series started with CLR046 and contributions by Perc and Regis and NOW CLR048 follows up with the works of Speedy J and Terence Fixmer.

The Cocoon Compilation K, being the longplay flagship in the Cocoon catalogue, adequately starts the second decade of the label with a musical imperative. But don't worry: even if the letter K has sometimes been misused as an indicator for the degree of hardness of some sonic noise in the past of the Tech-House scene, "K" is definitely the deepest survey of contemporary electronic dance music that has ever seen the light of day on Cocoon Recordings. The beginning is performed by the 20-year-old Berliner David August, who was able to establish himself as one of the most promising talents in the capital's scene with releases on Diynamic and Stil Vor Talent. With its sensual and melancholic SloMo-Disco and a short Acid insert, "True Romance" sets a first massive musical exclamation mark. After this, it gets profoundly hypnotic, thanks to the Siberian singer and DJ/producer Nina Kraviz, who already caused a stir with her releases on Radioslave's Rekids label and with being the host of Moscow's Propaganda Club. Her dreamy vocals and the streamlined Deep House of "W-Bleu" are for sure something that Baby Ford would have been proud of, too. Following these two Compilation newcomers is Alejandra Iglesias aka Dinky, who was already able to give her career a big kick start with the unforgettable "Acid in my fridge" seven years ago. "Luvin" indulges the senses with a darkly shimmering Disco-House-Pop draft and some subtle Goldfrapp reminiscenses, and has thus what it takes to become one of THE summer tracks 2011. The Berliner-by-choice Henrik Schwarz from the Inner Visions circle is then uncompromisingly setting the course more to the dancefloor with his mythic-percussive Dub-House runner "Now This Way", while the Far-Eastern-like, hypnotic reduction of the "Blue Storm" by Matt John - one of the most important artists on the Berlin in-label Bar 25 - irresistibly takes our collective consciousness to Floor #7 after that. And so, literally each track of this standard-setting acoustic treasure chest deserves a detailed appreciation. The meeting of the two House modernists Christian Burkhardt & Einzelkind ("Icon") as well as Sascha Dive's Minimal-Ska-influenced "New Frontiers" show that the Rhein Main area is still good for some damn innovative tracks. Maetrik shines again with his dirty Soul-Tech ("Caught Between), and with the mean high-frequency Wild Pitch "The Thrust", the Greek-born Argy delivers the inofficial successor of his "Unreliable Virgin". Besides that, the Dutch Rush Hour shooting star Tom Trago continues the long-lasting history of Detroit-sounding relations with our neighbour country in a congenial way, using a quite percussive organ motif ("Fifth Fase"). The Mainz-resident Butch doesn't need an introduction anyway, at least since "No Worries" came out - with his siren-like Deephouse jewel "Antique", he could hardly be ignored this summer. The compilation is completed by our two favourite Swedes Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson aka Minilogue from Malmø. Three years after the phenomenal "Animals", their 16-minutes-track "Blessed" is without doubt the most sensual and melancholic title that the two have ever produced together, and this track is a more than dignified finale for an edition of the Cocoon Compilation that is hardly to be exceeded when it comes to acoustic perfection and artistic richness. You can't get any closer to the pulse of modern electronic music culture, in a little more than 100 minutes.

Grammy nominated Hannover producer Martin Buttrich gets down to business with this sharply delineated four track EP, his first release since his 'Crash Test' LP on Desolat.
Buttrich is known for his deft hand with spacious, warm tracks that crackle and snap. His propulsive techno and house music re filled with compressed living sounds. On tracks like "Fireball" and "Magic Market", crisp percussion shimmers around snug-fitting basslines, with snares and toms moving the speaker cones insistently. "Fireball" will quietly smash the dancefloor, with rhythms so taut you could bounce nickels off them. The heavy kick of "Rocket" anchors it to agitated drums slowly enveloped by a melodic soup, inflected with disrupted noises as it sweeps over the listener. "20 Ways" has a reflective and fresh feel, like city lights seen through rain, with a peppy beat that swaggers along. Then there's that bass again, bringing disarming warmth, and always with the underlying influences of reggae, hip hop and soul. The first release on INSIST MUSIC presents some of the rising stars of the israelian electronic music scene: Lonya Koval in collaboration with Audio Junkies. The main track "Face Lift" is a piece of uplifting tech house using a sequencer line that is growing and growing until the end.
The same track is reworked by Patrick Kunkel and Dirk Redmer - keeping the flow of the original and introducing some more house elements to the original. "Fetish" also comes in two versions: The Audio Junkies Mix, which is part of the vinyl, makes use of a hypnotic melody which makes the sun shine everywhere even in the darkest clubs. The Lonya Mix of the same track focuses even more on Detroit style melancholic elements and is available only digital as a bonus track.

Following on from the recent return of Mathew Jonson to Minus, ‘Knibbie Never Comes Alone’ sees old associate Loco Dice release on the label for the first time since 2006. In the meantime, the Tunisian-born, Dusseldorf-based producer has found a home for his often dubby, sometime tribalistic records on imprints like Cadenza, Cocoon and Ovum as well, of course, as his own esteemed outpost, Desolat. Having found time to get back in the studio with long-time studio collaborator Martin Buttrich despite continuing to curate dancefloor soundtracks around the world each and every weekend, Dice explores an abstract and cerebral techno template with his latest offerings. The opening 90 seconds of the A is all sparse atmosphere, static crackles and weird effects with just a sole note played over and over. The pulsing of a deep sine wave hints at what to come, and when that’s expanded on with a kick drum and bobbling bassline the whole thing begins to come alive. More life is breathed into the bleak landscape with the sounds of various robot activities, and the mystery of the bell-like melody which hangs in the air is never really explained before the last third of the track when the momentum really builds and claps and hats help drive the whole thing forward. The eventual groove which reveals itself in the A side is extrapolated with the B: ‘Loose Hooks’ is a deeply burrowing affair with an extra heavy kick hitting ever four bars to give things an air of extra insistency. Above that, various dynamic samples shoot about like fire-flies in a night sky and all the while the train track rhythm builds up more and more steam until eventually it dissipates to only the sounds of an over worked circuit board. Maintaining his sense of bold and chunky rhythm, then, but finishing things with classic motifs of Minus in mind, Dice has made for an assured homecoming.

With a sound born in New York, ripened in London and refined in Berlin, Margaret Dygas is an artist whose sound possesses a true international resonance. Born and raised in Poland, at age 11 Margaret and her family moved to Germany, before finally relocating to San Jose, California. Surrounded by old school hip-hop as a teenager, her discovery of house music came in the early nineties following a move to New York in order to study fashion at the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology.
Captivated by the British dance scene, Margaret moved to London in the summer of 1999. Becoming a regular fixture on London's electronic music scene, Margaret went on to play clubs that included fabric, The End and Herbal, holding a residency at AKA for Underline's label night.
It was following her move to Berlin that Margaret started producing and writing her own music. After her debut release, "Day After" (for Jay Haze's label Contexterrior), Margaret followed with the "See You Around EP", released in 2008 on Non Standard Productions and the "Invisible Circles" 12" for Perlon (2009).
2010 marks the release of Margaret's first full-length album "How Do You Do". Released on Japan's PowerShovelAudio, the album is inspired by the book 'Peoplewatching', a guide to body language by British zoologist Desmond Morris.

Parallel is the bold debut album from rising star Dosem. The Catalan producer behind such hits as ‘Silent Drop’ and the sexy smash ‘Beach Kisses’ unveils his futuristic vision on a double album comprised of ‘Dosem’ and ‘Sendo’, that take listeners from Girona’s sultry shores to the throbbing heart of the world’s best dancefloors. Officially four years in the making, Parallel is the product of a fascination with sound that stretches back to Dosem’s childhood, when he tried to capture in music the images of his favourite sci-fi films. Though his methods have matured there is a boyish sense of wonder that echoes through the album. A sense of joy and discovery underpins the glistening melodies of Parallel, taking listeners on a trip through wondrous realms of time, space and emotion. Part one, ‘Dosem’, draws on past and present to project the listener into the future: a future where delicate yet propulsive techno tunes like ‘Tannhauser Gate’ and ‘Silent Drop’ sidle up and stir the dancefloor with a synth-plated swizzle stick. Like much of the finest electronic music of recent times, Parallel moves beyond the stereotype of machine music and boldly reclaims the heart and soul of techno. Standout track ‘True Elements’ is a textbook example, marrying a glorious female vocal to a sharp, clean almost stark skeleton of purist electronica. Elsewhere, Dosem delves into memory to recreate moments such as ‘Diagonal’ – a tuneful snapshot of a late-night walk along Barcelona’s famous Avinguda Diagonal with a girlfriend. ‘Sendo’ projects different elements of Dosem’s musical identity. It delivers a modern twist on classicsounding ambient electronica with tracks such as the Balearic-tinged ‘Distant Playgrounds’ and fuzzily sensual offering ‘Your Skin’. Other highlights include the euphoric optimism of ‘I Will Let’ and the slinky eastern atmospherics of ‘Children of Yesterday’. After their debut ("Did You Expect It?" / Infracom 2004), their mix-CD ("Back Up" / Infracom 2007), and their last studio album ("Technique" / Simple 2008) the two DJs and producers present their first selection of remixes that have been released between 2004 and 2010. The "remix" is one of their favourite dishes so it's no wonder that more than 30 artists or labels have asked for a Motorcitysoul remix treatment since the duo joined forces in 2004. All of their remixes have been regarded as high quality by the media and djs worldwide. So far artists like Chez Damier, Ian Pooley, Abdullah Ibrahim, Brett Johnson, Solomun & Stimming, and Johannes Heil have ordered the extra Motorcitysoul polish. Motorcitysoul remixes have found their way to labels like Cocoon, Dessous, Freerange, LiebeDetail and Junior Boys Own/Defected. Creating a remix is a versatile production practice built around various philosophies - what is the remix meant for? How should it sound? Should it be an addition for the club heads or a musical adventure that takes the listener on a journey? Every Motorcitysoul remix has its own vibe and is meant to respect the idea behind the original track. Motorcitysoul merge their trademark sounds and styles with the original track. Vogt and Rindermann communicate in a musical way with the original artist. Their unique style is built on the combination of the studied jazz piano player Matthias Vogt and Christian "C-Rock" Rindermann's almost 20 years of experience in sound & production. The two really incorporate the flavour and sounds of the originals they've remixed and acchieve individual sound aesthetics for every remix they do. The last release before we hit the big "five-0" here's Samuel Dan who had previously released together with Darlyn Vlys on our Sub Label Sweet & Sour. He has also shown his face on Syncopat, Dirty Bird und Off Recordings . With the title track " I hear voices" Samuel leans out from the DJ booth and gives the Vj's something "ravey" to trigger an emotional parade..while he hears voices, we see stars. "On The Dancefloor" and "Do It Baby" take us to the next level of this Olympic exercise and finally we have a ass-kicking little digital bonus track "Roll My Day" that will get your blood boiling nicely.
