For its 52th release, Be As One has picked the rising Italian talent Marco Faraone, with a 4 tracks EP, that showcases different takes of Marco's approach to Techno. The EP title track "Restrictions" opens the 12" with a dark, fast-paced groove and hypnotic vocal, a real treat for the authentic Techno players.
With "Day 20" Marco ravels into the Dub Techno forest, with classic Dub elements that set the tone to a deeper mood. "Voices From The Sea" follows up with a more festive approach, a big room anthem that keeps the dark vibe on the release. For the vinyl heads, an exclusive treat for the 12" its "Early Morning", getting a due vinyl pressing after being featured exclusively on the 2013 live compilation by Shlomi Aber.

CLR086 covers a wide spectrum of the sonic and artistic possibilities, which make modern Techno as irresistible as it can ideally be. There is the minimalist, bouncy original, elegantly playing with a mixture of uplifting and dark vibes, then there is the extremely reduced and highly effective Truncate remix, the relentless, almost epic Ciren mix and the percussive and hypnotic remix by the man DJ Hyperactive himself. Each and every one of those versions can be appropriate for a different situation, but in the end they are all aiming for the same goal - to create an absorbing soundtrack for unifying experiences on the dance floor.
The "Venus Revisited" package and particularly the quality level of the present versions pay full respect to the outstanding original. CLR086 is a highly recommendable release for all those who appreciate uncompromising, cutting edge Techno with loads of groove and untamed energy.

Justly feted for their debut LP ‘Alive in Us’, a string of exquisite live performances, and the single ‘Hey!’ – the most played tune on Danish radio in 2011 - Copenhagen-based duo Darkness Falls return with ‘Dance And Cry’, an album of atmospheric pop noir that - even in March – will surely stake a claim to be one of this year’s musical highlights come Christmas. Defying convention, Josephine Philip and Ina Lindgreen effortlessly blend a host of rock and pop influences, the textures and structures of electronic dance music and the haunting atmospheres of arthouse cinema soundtracks to produce an album of deep longing and icy cool – all drawn together by impeccable vocals that embody a decidedly glamorous melancholy. It’s an album that will tick all the boxes for a diverse range of listeners; as they themselves put it: ‘In our music, there is something for the mind, something for the heart and something for the feet too.’
The dramatic opener sets the tone, a torchsong that seductively entices the listener to ‘come out and join me for night games’ over layers of sustained synths. A slow house kick drum adds momentum, as one carefully curated sound after another enriches the musical palette till it builds to a heart-stirring climax. The haunting single ‘The Answer’ – a tale of love, desire and loss - maintains the quality, as a Cure-like guitar motif circles over a beautifully textured beat of found sounds. Londons Joseph Russel signs for funkdriven quirky chicago techno but A 1, Drums of lagos, stands out of many. What starts like a sturdy minimalist drum and snare pattern monotrack turns inti a discotech monster all at once and seemingly oout of almost nowhere. and once the surprise "swingbreak" of the track get´s you hooked there no stopping. a mesmeriozing driving, rhythmic affair - endlessly grooving and 101% dull free. hot , hot , hot.
With Karma Shirr, Razz Comic and Oink Master keeping the pace there´s a plead of quality here, an explosion of ultradynamic, unconventionall, rhythmic techno - with a somehwat classic chicago sounding nice old skool vibe that sounds really modern in fact. crackling col and fun dancefloor techno for finer floors, and dj´s to have and behold.

Tresor Records is fortunate enough to be sitting on a catalogue of past releases that no other label in electronic music would turn down. Three of the ?nest in this collection were albums contributed by Surgeon; "Basictonalvocabulary", "Balance" and "Force + Form" all originally came out on the Berlin institution between 1997 and 1999. Surgeon's inimitable combination of Detroit techno and post-industrial sounds emanating from his British homeland found its fullest expression in these masterful trio of releases on Tresor. The Basictonal-remake 12" accompanied Surgeon's ?rst Tresor album in 1997, with additional Versions as well as a remix by long-time Birmingham collaborator Mick Harris.
