EXCL 12" Black Innersleves, Shrinkwarpped
Tracklist:
A) Alter Ego - "Rocker" Tuff City Kids Rocky Mix
B1) Alter Ego - "Gate 23" Tuff City Kids 808 Mix
B2) Alter Ego - "Gate 23" Tuff City Kids Bonus Beat
Who would have thought that Gerd Janson and Phillipp Lauer, aka The Tuff City Kids, delivering a
"Rocker" mix for Alter Ego, wich is not only one of their best up to this date remixwork, but also probably one of the biggest electro-summerhits in 2016.
The Tuff City Kids production work is quite similary eclectic like in Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke's original version.
They know exactly how to juggle with different styles, until they come up with a fresh new sound that
transforms an ordinary rave into an unforgettable happening.
In this case they are mixing real performed krautrockdrums, 90's prototrance-balearicstrings and an unexpectedly new, enthusiastic way of working with Alter Ego's trademark melodyhook.
This melody-theme is dripping formally out of every programmed bass and synthesizer line without beeing to cheesy, superficial or over the top.
Even their 808 electro-remix for the track "Gate 23" is keeping to the premise of the legendary New York punk rock band The Ramones, that a good party track should not illustrate the effects of psychedelic drugs, the music has to be the pill itself.
The rich details and playfulness of the mixes are showing Gerd Janson and Phillipp Lauer as real
fans of the original versions. In the same spirit, they are trying to melt pop-appeal, art-sensibility and clubhit-function in one piece of vinyl.

2021 Repress by popular demand !
The first vinyl release on Alter Ego Recordings presents a re-release of two Alter Ego classics remixed by Luke Slater in 1993 and 1994 !
A. Alter Ego - "Soulfree" Luke Slater's Ortoe Circuit Mix
B. Alter Ego - "Lycra" Luke Slater's Dinosaur Mix
Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke are very happy to present their first vinyl single on their own platform Alter Ego Recordings.
In charge again of their entire back catalogue, under monikers like Acid Jesus, Sensorama and Alter Ego, they're starting to re-release all the classic albums sometimes accompanied by newly curated vinyl Ep's.
The singles will feature unreleased material, forgotten classics and brand new remix-projects of favourite producers and friends in perfectly re-mastered 12"- sound.
The first vinyl release on Alter Ego Recordings presents a re-release of two Alter Ego classics remixed by Luke Slater in 1993 and 1994.
For many people he is the epitome of hard and driving British electronica.
His music, especially under his Planetary Assault System moniker, influenced just about everyone in techno over the last twenty years.
Things kick off on the a-side on this record with a Basic Channel style sounddesign.
The dubbed chords, moved by a full-bodied bassline and frequent cowbells featured in his "Ortoe Circuit Remix" of "Soulfree" are showing that Luke's more soulfull side is as good as his tough mode. The slamming "Dinosaur Mix" was already in boxes of jocks like Sven Väth and Andrew Weatherall and shows Slater with the foot on the pedal. Cascades of flanged sounds drifting in and out of focus, while no-nonsense drums and percussion driving dance floors in frenzied submission.

3 LP Gatefold - Vinyl includes 13 classic tracks + 3 previously unreleased titles + 27 Track Mp3 Downloadcodes - includes 4 unreleased titles and 2 bonus tracks.
3LP, 2CD + 27 Track Mp3 review on Acid Jesus, the first of many collaborations between Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke. Including 3 (+1 more on Mp3) unreleased tracks!
Situated in Germany’s then blistering techno scene and especially a mirror of Frankfurt at the time (and it´s holy label trinity of Playhouse, Klang and Ongaku), Flashbacks are also a feedback loop to
what was happening in the UK and the USA. Flügel and Wuttke succeeded with their own and unique take on it, that owned as much to Underground Resistance and the Belleville Three as it did to Sven Väth and Andrew Weatherall.

Short Info (Written by Gerd Janson):
Following the title of the classic Ecstasy Club record - be it a direct influence or merely a coincidence - Acid Jesus was the first of many collaborations between Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke.
Situated in Germany’s then blistering techno scene and especially a mirror of Frankfurt at the time, the early recordings of Flashbacks are also a feedback loop to what was happening in the UK and the USA before and at that very time. With many definitions and interpretations of techno already in place, and while its triumphal procession slowly geared itself into exhaustion, Flügel and Wuttke succeeded with their own and unique take on it, that owned as much to Underground Resistance and the Belleville Three as it did to Sven Väth and Andrew Weatherall. Depicting the booster detonation of what was to become the holy label trinity of Playhouse, Klang and Ongaku, this is a collection of tracks and experiments in sound that won’t sound dated, yet classic, mesmerizing and eternal. The first CD includes the Klang released debut album from 1993, which collected a string of tracks written and produced between December '92 and July ’93, while the second one gathers the later stage of Acid
Jesus with a selection of music from the Fear , Radiation and Interstate EPs. Finally, the triple-vinyl contains all of that and four previously unreleased tracks and download codes. Jesus loves the acid and vice versa. More

Acid Jesus - Hibernation Drive
Vinyl Only Release! out of print since over 15 years and the tracks were not availlable on any digital platform
Alter Ego Recordings - 029
A) Acid Jesus - Interstate
B1) Acid Jesus - Turkey Skank
B2) Acid Jesus - Hibernation Drive
Produced by Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke / Published by copyright control
Mastered by Dubplates and Mastering, recut by Stefan Betke at Scape Mastering Berlin
Alter Ego Recordings is very pleased, to rerelease this ACID JESUS classic, which is sounding just as fresh as it sounded, when it was released on KLANG ELEKTRONIK back in 1997. The record was out of print since over 15 years and the tracks were not availlable on any digital platform. Based on a very light, but striking ground construction, Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke leading their listeners over delicate fm-synthesis-sounds, minimal clonky bass patterns and snappy percussions to a long intermission breakdown, which reminds us of a starting Boeing 747.
Where "Interstate" plays like an inspired peakhour-jam should, "Turkey Skank" and "Hibernation Drive", on the b-side, take on cooler tones for a headier machine-funk ride. The record was played out by dj's like Andrew Weatherall, Matthew Herbert, Luke Slater, Baby Ford, Dj Hell, Ellen Allien, Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos, Michael Mayer etc.
