''La Rochelle'' is full of sunlight with great melodic hooks and light piano solos drift in and out,''Shy Smile'' takes the tempo down with a seductive breezy style.''Crytsal Dragonfly'' the title is more of a neo classical piece featuring a Korean lute and lush cello and string arrangemnets.Closing off with ''Pre De Minuit'' Robin starts off with the piano and adds dreamy rhythms as the track builds to close off the EP perfectly. London based Disco outfit Faze Action team up with celebrated Anglo/Brazilian artist, Nina Miranda for proto house crossover. Faze Action have always managed to take different musical traditions and blend them to create sounds that are somehow familiar whilst simultaneously containing the unexpected. Last year's Mangwana, featured long time Faze Action collaborator, Zeke Manyika, singing in his native Zimbabwean Shona over Faze Action's infectious disco production. This time, British/Brazilian singer, artist and all round creative force de majeur, Nina Miranda, takes things further with her invitation to Vamos Pintar or Let's Paint, in Portuguese. On the surface there is the familiar Faze Action restyled proto house but it soon becomes apparent that the brothers have appropriated more than just a Brazilian vocal. Punchy 808 drums and fizzy synths are infused with Brazilian Caixa and Pandaro as if they had always been designed to co-exist. The remixes come from the illustrious Max Essa, whose British born/Tokyo resident background chimes well with the international nature of this latest offering. His Slo-Mo Bubble Dub simmers with Mediterranean sun that reclines into romantic piano flourishes and dubbed out vocals, whilst the Extended Dub manages to draw out the original elements at their original tempo. Faze Action's own Paradise '90 Dub closes the package by keeping close to the original arrangement with added economy and plenty of dub delay of course. More

The Faze Action brothers released their fifth studio album entitled "Body Of One" last year and to continue the celebration they have recruited some heavy weight talents to give their spin on three tracks from that album. First, the brothers take on the remix duties of "Magic Touch", giving it a dub house reboot that could be the sound track to countless sunsets this summer. Next up is a deft dub mix of the same track by Maxidiscs cohort and globe trotting DJ, Dicky Trisco. On the flip side we have the Balearic powerhouse that is Phil Mison, remixing "Echoes Of Your Mind" into an electronic, down tempo feast with additional Bass, Guitar and Keyboard played by the man himself. The final mix on this 12" is provided by "Emotional Response" curator and head honcho Stuart Leath under his Chuggy guise, delivering an organic dub mix of Faze Action's "Floating World"

Faze Action have never been comfortable with the nu disco tag, and in an age where it's dominated by digitally designed and somewhat pedestrian in its tempo the Lee brothers return with a dynamic live sound that sets them apart.
