The Faze Action brothers released their fifth studio album entitled "Body Of One" last year and to continue the celebration they have recruited some heavy weight talents to give their spin on three tracks from that album. First, the brothers take on the remix duties of "Magic Touch", giving it a dub house reboot that could be the sound track to countless sunsets this summer. Next up is a deft dub mix of the same track by Maxidiscs cohort and globe trotting DJ, Dicky Trisco. On the flip side we have the Balearic powerhouse that is Phil Mison, remixing "Echoes Of Your Mind" into an electronic, down tempo feast with additional Bass, Guitar and Keyboard played by the man himself. The final mix on this 12" is provided by "Emotional Response" curator and head honcho Stuart Leath under his Chuggy guise, delivering an organic dub mix of Faze Action's "Floating World"

Faze Action present new album 'Body Of One' - arguably their best yet, which considering the impeccable back catalogue is no mean feat. London based Disco outfit Faze Action team up with celebrated Anglo/Brazilian artist, Nina Miranda for proto house crossover. Faze Action have always managed to take different musical traditions and blend them to create sounds that are somehow familiar whilst simultaneously containing the unexpected. Last year's Mangwana, featured long time Faze Action collaborator, Zeke Manyika, singing in his native Zimbabwean Shona over Faze Action's infectious disco production. This time, British/Brazilian singer, artist and all round creative force de majeur, Nina Miranda, takes things further with her invitation to Vamos Pintar or Let's Paint, in Portuguese. On the surface there is the familiar Faze Action restyled proto house but it soon becomes apparent that the brothers have appropriated more than just a Brazilian vocal. Punchy 808 drums and fizzy synths are infused with Brazilian Caixa and Pandaro as if they had always been designed to co-exist. The remixes come from the illustrious Max Essa, whose British born/Tokyo resident background chimes well with the international nature of this latest offering. His Slo-Mo Bubble Dub simmers with Mediterranean sun that reclines into romantic piano flourishes and dubbed out vocals, whilst the Extended Dub manages to draw out the original elements at their original tempo. Faze Action's own Paradise '90 Dub closes the package by keeping close to the original arrangement with added economy and plenty of dub delay of course. More

Rudy (aka Robin Lee from Faze Action) makes a welcome return on FAR, taking in the atmosphere of sunnier climes. The title tracks opening cascades and swirling synths fall into an easy Balearic groove, with singing melodies, exotic marimbas, a chugging synth bass and production echoing a mix of Compass Point, Grace Jones et all on holiday in Europe, whilst setting the scene for the EP. The 2nd track is introduced by hypnotic tones against analog synth arpeggios and haunting synth solos, invoking the "Sky Goddess". Back down to earth on the flip side is an invitation to sail down the "Shimmering Coast", with its relaxed guitar groove and keyboard flourishes all underpinned by a stunning 80s sounding bass line. Dropping anchor at "Fortune Lagoon", we are treated to some of Rudy's personally designed analog keyboard sounds, which mange to challenge yet retain tropical warmth. Finally live chorus bass introduces us to "Body Wave" which manages to fuse easy French Disco with jazzy Fender Rhodes hooks.
