12"
Tracklist:
A1. Deep’a & Biri - Quantum Eraser
A2. Deep’a & Biri - Approaching Skopje
B1. Deep’a & Biri - Roots
Release Info:
Following 2018’s full-length, Dominance, Deep’a & Biri reemerge on their Black Crow imprint for Black Crow 012, presenting three immediate yet sophisticated cuts traversing techno and electro, brimming with character and detail.
‘Approaching Skopje’ is a tunnelling slice of techno, landing with enough bass weight to drive a wormhole through any heaving rave, coupled with layers of trippy electronic textures that blend inherent heaviness with sheer hypnosis.
On the contrary, ‘Quantum Hypnosis’ sees an instantaneous swung-groove gradually blossom into a weightless electronic lullaby, wrapped in fluttering modulations and a sense of shimmering intrigue.
Finally, ‘Roots‘ builds a bridge between both tracks and bodies and minds beside; a loose breakbeat flirts a circling analogue signal, demonstrating the duo’s subtle craftsmanship at it’s most psychedelic and soaring.

Digital : Deep’a & Biri - Theories of Loneliness (Wice Remix)
Info:
Deep’a & Biri curate a bevy of much-respected underground techno specialists to further unravel and reimagine the vital and sophisticated sounds of ‘Dominance’, their full-length LP released earlier in 2018.
Midnight Operator, the collaborative project of Mathew and Nathan Johnson, begin the set with their trippy and transcendent take on ‘False Memories’. A rare remix from the pair, their return has been worth the wait; an expertly executed techno excursion, it simultaneously burrows deeper into the psychedelic textures of the original, while providing a club-centred kick.
Further blending the experimental and the physical, Peter Van Hoesen provides a typically complex and compelling take on Voltage, deconstructing the original and expanding each element in myriad, rave-specific directions.
Deep’a & Biri enlist rising Dutch DJ-producer Deniro contributes a rolling, hypnotic version of Dominance’s spectral centrepiece, ‘Alpha Cephei’, while Z.I.P.P.O. charges down a tense, big-room industrial tunnel for his interpretation of ‘Seeking Solace’, hitting on a cathartic groove after a passage of uncompromising noise.
Concluding the EP, Steinlac’h Records founder Wice reimagines ‘Theories of Loneliness’ in dubby but propulsive fashion.

Central to the Israeli club scene, Deep'a & Biri have long been defying expectations even within a community they helped construct. Serving as resident DJs, activists and bookers for Tel Aviv's legendary Barzilay Club, the pair helped build a transcendent club scene. Hugely influential artists such as Robert Hood, Derrick May, Rødhad, Ben Klock and Moritz Von Oswald passed through the club, enjoying legendary crowds and what they could surely sense was a genuine air of anarchy, rebellion and unadulterated rave pleasure.
As the duo held down dozens of parties with dozens of DJs, there was no 'eureka' moment for their emerging sound; just a steady stream of brilliant, inspiring electronic music, much of which left an indelible imprint on the pair. Now based in Berlin, for Deep'a & Biri, things are much the same, even if the landscape and the city is different. Always rooted in the fertile ground between machines and emotion, on their second full-length LP, 'Dominance', the duo demonstrate their unique grasp of the sensitive, unfolding relationship between man and machine. Steadfast in their insistence never to remain in one lane in terms of their sound, 'Dominance' flawlessly segues between forcefulness and weightlessness. From beginning to end, this is not a record afraid to show its teeth with an uncompromising, instantly recognisable techno palette that kicks the foundations of any sound system with menace, anger and determination, particularly on tracks such as the dense 'Voltage' and pulsing throughout the more industrial flourishes of 'Ecole De Nancy' and 'Seeking Solace'.
Beyond these grittier, although never mindless, moments of authority, a sense of escapism and curiosity imbues the album. 'Alpha Cephei' offers the first hint of Deep'a & Biri's more wistful concepts, producing a smoke trail of twinkling electronics out of a smudged but distinctive bassline. That understated sense of emotional catharsis carries throughout, to be found between the complex-yet-familiar bells that drive 'Flow Diverter's' rhythm to a Detroit-indebted landscape that will surely instantly elasticate any keen dancers, while 'False Memories' offers big-room techno fulfillment with none of the character or sincerity removed for cheap thrills. Saving the most remarkable moments for last, the pair sign off 'Dominance' with the poignant and purifying 'Astral Trails', fusing an ethereal, ambient landscape with the more pronounced rhythms of their hardware.
The album's distinctive artwork comes from the studio of Jewish orthodox artist Avraham Guy Barchil, who forged a powerful connection with Deep'a, both was immediately drawn to "weird atmosphere, amazing technique and emotions involved with his work". Perhaps one of the most interesting painters from Israel, Avraham is known for his unique perspective, taking his inspiration from the Zohar - the foundational work in the literature of Jewish mystical thought known as Kabbalah. The ambiguous figures represent mystical aspects of the Torah (the five books of Moses), as well as material on mysticism and mythical cosmogony.
Ensuring their natural, conscious touch always remains at the forefront of this unapologetically machine-driven music, Deep'a & Biri have produced an album in the lineage of their heroes and greatest influences. Cerebral yet satisfying, deep yet always engaging, 'Dominance' both reasserts and evolves Deep'a & Biri's forward facing and singular sound.

A1. Deep'a & Biri - Basic Cycle
B1. Deep'a & Biri - OverDrum
Info:
Following two staggering contributions from The Analogue Roland Orchestra and 2030 that illustrated to boundless sonic possibilities for the label, Deep'a & Biri return to their Tel Aviv-based Black Crow label with a pair of powerful, emotive techno cuts in the style for which the duo long since become admired.
For a long time one of those admirers has been Detroit techno founding father Derrick May, who has been on a mission to push the new 12"s A-side, 'Basic Cycle', into instant classic territory through his unwavering commitment to making the track a highlight of his sets. May has been far from alone, with the track being one that D&B have been asked about, if not outright begged for, over the past year or so. It finally becomes available to techno fans worldwide in January 2017, backed by the pummelling rhythms of 'OverDrum', which itself has the potential to turn heads and drop jaws all by itself.

For the 2nd release in their 30th year aniversary trilogy Transmat presents one of the most promising talents emerging from the electronic scene from Tel Aviv. Deep‘a & Biri try to fully introduce their sound from atmospheric hypnotic beats to banging acid dancefloor killers. Deep‘a & Biri‘s connection with Derrick May started 7 years ago, when Deep‘a worked as an A&R for Club Barzilay, one of the important underground clubs in Israel at that time. They invited May to play in Tel Aviv and gave him a demo track at the dinner before the party, which was played by May only a few hours later at the club. Since then May keeps supporting Deep'a & Biri‘s project by frequently playing their music on his sets. On 2014 the boys, who grew up listening to early Detroit Techno music, manage to close the circuit and joined Transmat artists agency and played on their label nights around the world. The tracks on the EP has being slowly cooked for the past 3 years and been tested on multiple dancefloors and soundsystems. On their 4-track EP Echoic Memories Deep‘a & Biri try to to fully introduce their sound from atmospheric hypnotic beats to banging acid dancefloor killers. The tracks stand out with their dark and mashing beats, that make their way without compromise and with never ending dynamism through the dubby sound spaces or relentlessly push forward sharp acid lines. From these perspectives, the tracks‘ bass lines and also to some extent, the implemented superposed, endless synthesizer landscapes, both remind us of the early years of the Detroit Techno.

The brand new productions on offer here find Deep'a & Biri channelling the tougher side of their expansive techno sound, with an intensity that marries well with the dub sonics that the duo have long made their calling card. The originals are backed by a pair of stellar remixes from Klockworks affiliate ROD and Figure's techno veteran Markus Suckut, with the former tying Circular Sector's bassline to a swung out groove and the latter turning Paralell into an acid-infused tribute to Berlin's 90s techno heyday.

Info:
JR002 sees a long-time Jaunt favourite Deep'a & Biri, take centre stage. The Israeli duo have long been considered expert producers by those in the know, with releases on the likes of Gigilo, Transmat and their own Black Crow imprint very much indicative of the fact. The Basement Cuts EP, meanwhile, goes some way to solidifying this fledgling reputation. Full of psychoactive tendencies and brimming with otherworldly sounds, the title track sees the pair delve deep, as they summon up a cut that's notable for its obsessive eye for detail and an unfurling array of captivating sounds. Full of dreamy soundscapes and pulsating kicks, it's a neat juxtaposition that plays out with some class from start to finish. On the remix front, the label welcomes The Analogue Cops to the fold. The Italian pair, consisting of Lucretio and Marieu, has long been held up as purveyors of refined electronica - and this one is no different. Their remix is a fitting compliment to the original, as they induce it with their trademark funk and a dollop of ominous tidbits. As it slowly progresses into an acid-led monster, it leaves a striking impression, neatly rounding off a contrasting and engrossing EP in the process.

A1. Deep’a & Biri - False Memories (Midnight Operator Remix)
A2. Deep’a & Biri - Voltage (Peter Van Hoesen's Midnight Haze Remix)
B1. Deep’a & Biri - Seeking Solace (Z.I.P.P.O Remodel)
B2. Deep’a & Biri - Alpha Cephei (Deniro Remix)

A1 Metatlantic
A2 Cosinaxis
B1 Lagoon9 feat. Civilian
B2 Cosinaxis (3KZ Remix)
Info:
Following a superb remix of Hakimonu's 'Insular Realms' in 2015, Ed Davenport's Inland alias returns to Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow Recordings with a brand new EP for the label's tenth release. Having played a key role in the relaunch of Function's Infrastructure New York imprint, in addition to operating his own widley admired Counterchange label, Davenport's techno project has brought the Englishman to wider recognition as one of the genre's most talented producers.
The new EP's three original tracks finds Inland exploring all facets of his diverse sound: A1, 'Metatlantic' is driving, acid-laced techno; 'Cosinaxis', employs electro beat patterns and IDM aesthetics; B-side opener, 'Lagoon9', is a melodic Detroit-indebted big room weapon.
Closing out the EP is a remix of from 3KZ aka Italian duo Z.I.P.P.O & Kaelan, the latter of whom provided one of Black Crow's standout releases so far under his 2030 alias with last year's Timeworm EP. Their remix of 'Cosinaxis' follows hot on the heels of their debut album 'Parallel Reflections', released earlier this year on Z.I.P.P.O.'s Fides imprint.

A2.Hakimonu Nsular Realms (Luigi Tozzi Remix)
B1.Hakimonu Insular Realms (Echologist Dub)
B2. Hakimonu Insular Realms (Echologist Reshape)
Info:
For the label's ninth release, Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow Records revisits one that helped establish the label's direction back in the imprint's first year. BCR003, 'Insular Realms' by fellow Israeli producer Hakimonu, was praised by many including Resident Advisor, who said the EP proved "his off-kilter take on techno and house is as vibrant and inviting as ever". Now in 2017, Deep'a & Biri have invited Mind Against, Luigi Tozzi and Echologist (aka dub techno veteran Brendon Moeller) to all rework the original version of Insular Realms for 2017. First up are Life & Death's Mind Against, with one of the Fognini brothers most direct techno productions yet, with a mid-track moment of calm before the intensity resumes. Luigi Tozzi, the Rome-based producer who has had previous outings on Dynamic Reflection and Dino Sabatini's Outis Music, contributes the second remix. Taking the lead from the original's more ethereal moments, his version is dreamy & almost wistful as it propels along its shaking rhythm. The B-side offers two takes from Brendon Moeller in his Echologist guise, with a Dub mix that twists the original into an acid-inflected track that slowly ratchets up the tension over its seven minutes, while the Reshape breaks things down into a churning rhythm peppered with flashes f off kilter sonic details. Completing the package is a digital-only new rework by Hakimonu himself - a slowed down, marching rhythm that foregrounds Insular Realms's jazz influences with the addition of live brass instrumentation that compliment things wonderfully.

A1. The Analog Roland Orchestra - Plant A2. The Analog Roland Orchestra - Urei Dub
B1. The Analog Roland Orchestra - Father Detroit B2. The Analog Roland Orchestra - Her B3. The Analog Roland Orchestra - Aftermath
Info:
Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow Records further expands its horizons with its seventh release, welcoming another new artist to the family following appearances by 2030, Aril Brihka, Hakimonu, Luke Hess, ROD, Inland and Markus Suckut. The Analog Roland Orchestra's label debut follows the widely acclaimed 2030 EP and shares with it a widening of the label's sonic scope to once again showcase Deep'a & Biri's desire to reach beyond techno and explore ambient and cinematic musical textures.
Michal Matlak's Analog Roland Orchestra finds the Poland born & Berlin based producer in the conductor role among an array of classic electronic hardware, taking on the role of shaping & directing a free flowing sound that moves across genres, whether in a studio or live setting. His previous releases for labels including Ornaments, Rotary Cocktail Recordings and Pastamusik have seen the project indulge in an array of sounds across the techno spectrum. 'Aftermath II' is no different, moving from the classic roots techno sounds of 'Plant' and 'Father Detroit', through the dub excursion of 'Urei Dub', to the cinematic, Boards of Canada & Tangerine Dream-recalling pair 'Her' and 'Aftermath. For those with a taste for electronic music's widescreen possibilities, TARO's arrival on the Tel Aviv imprint will be a long term favourite.

B1. 2030 - Timeworm B2. 2030 - Timeworm (Deep'a & Biri Interpretation 1) B3. 2030 - Timeworm (Deep'a & Biri Interpretation 2)
Info:
The sixth release on Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow label welcomes another new name into the fold: Nico Campanella has been quietly building a stellar reputations for himself over the past few years, working under a variety of aliases to explore a sound that much like Deep'a & Biri draws deeply from techno's Detroit heritage as well as the propulsive dub techno of Basic Channel. With releases for several high quality under-the-radar European techno labels, including Construct Re-form, CLFT, Monnom Black and his own label Subosc, Campanelli's Kaelan and 2030 projects in particular have won him some ardent admirers & plenty of tips as a talent to keep an eye on.
It's as 2030 that he joins Black Crow, for the Timeworm EP, which is completed by remixes from FXHE's Luke Hess and the label's Tel Aviv-based founders. The EP's original track are a pair of lushly-produced classic Detroit-influenced excursions, redolent of the cascading ambient textures and string melodies found within the work of the city's first wave pioneers. A1 cut 'In aeternum' could easily be mistaken for a lost early 90s classic in the best possible sense, while the title track also draws on a similarly timeless quality.
With the original track ensuring the EP package will win other home listeners, it's the remixers who shape them for the dancefloor. Luke Hess's 'In aeturnum' remix is powerful dancefloor workout that retains a softer edge, recalling the producer's recent collaboration with OB Ignitt. On the B side, Deep'a & Biri offer two of their own interpretations of the title track, pulling the track across the dub techno galaxy with their trademark dexterity.
Completing a truly exceptional package is beautiful hand drawn artwork by Israeli artist Avraham Guy Barchil.

Tel Aviv's Deep'a & Biri return to their own Black Crow imprint for their latest EP. Following the huge success of their split EP with Aril Brikha last year.

Tracklist: A1.Hakimonu - Insular Realms . A2.Hakimonu - Jiriki. B1.Hakimonu - Insular Realms (Inland Remix). B2.Hakimonu - Insular Realms (Deep'a & Biri Version)
Info:
The third release on Tel Aviv duo Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow label comes from Israeli talent Hakimonu. Having first emerged in 2007, Hakimonu has since initiated his own self-titled imprint, with over twenty releases from him and his close circle of like-minded friends since 2010. With a stated intention to "explore the experience of infinity through sound & music", Hakimonu's debut Black Crow release should bring his intelligent fusion of techno, ambient, dub, jazz and acid to wider attention. Far more than a pair of dub techno excursions, the EP's original tracks Insular Realms and Jiriki retain a tougher, more experimental edge while encouraging listeners to explore the minute details in the spaces between the more prevalent elements of the tracks. The EP enlists Ed Davenport (under his Inland guise) and Black Crow bosses Deep'a & Biri for remix duties, with Davenport's dancefloor-rework of Insular Realms continuing his impressive run of form which has included hugely accomplished releases for Mosaic, his own Counterchange label and, as Inland, his collaboration with Function on their co-run Infrastructure New York. Deep'a & Biri meanwhile maintain their own high standards with their propulsive remix of Insular Realms, offering a less rough-hewn yet no less effective club-ready version.

Tracklist: A1. Isthar A2. Ishtar (Deep'a & Biri Remix). B1. Har Zion 110 B2. Har Zion 110 (Aril Brikha Remix)
Tel Aviv's Deep'a & Biri and Iran-born producer Aril Brikha will unite on a forthcoming 12" on Deep's & Biri's Black Crow label, from which proceeds will be donated to a Israel/Palestine peace projects organization. The release was inspired by Brikha's first visit to Israel to play at the Black Crow party in Tel Aviv, after years of turning down gig offers in the country in what Brikha describes as his own "quiet protest" in solidarity with Palestine.
Aril Brikha: "I thought I would have trouble getting in, and while I'm there, because I'm born in Iran. But after a few days there and coming back to my 'homeland' Sweden, I realized that I felt more at home in Israel than in Sweden…which was a very strange feeling. The same weekend of my gig missiles came towards Tel Aviv so of course it was not an ordinary evening we got at the club that night. I was really happy to see the people that still made it out - it was a very special night".
With their shared love for the deeper sounds of Detroit techno (Derrick May's Transmat label, on which Brikha released the timeless 'Groove La Chord' and Deep'a & Biri have a released a track last year, remains a key link between their respective approaches to music), Brikha's collaboration with Deep'a & Biri on the second Black Crow EP was the logical next step to follow the duo's 2013 debut LP 'Emotions Visions Changes' on DJ Hell's International DJ Gigolos. The 12" features both acts contributing an original track and remix, with Brikha's signature melodic progressions and
Deepa & Biri's dub techno atmospherics brought to bear on each side.

Tracklist: A1. Redshift A2. Redshift (ARGY Remix). B1. Blueshift
It's only early July, but 2013 has already proven to be a landmark year for production/DJ duo Deep'a & Biri. With a couple of their tracks being released on Transmat Records and appearing on Derrick May's mix compilations on the one hand, while on the other, getting signed to DJ Hell's International DJ Gigolo Records, where they released a single in April and have a full album forthcoming mid-September - it seems that all corners of the techno diaspora are ready to catch up on their sound. But it doesn't stop there, as they now launch their own Tel-Aviv based label, Black Crow. With a successful series of parties operating under the same name, bringing to Tel-Aviv a tasteful selection of the world's top class techno DJ's and live acts, Black Crow, the label, is set to counter-match this high standard with its musical output. Inaugurating the label is the imminent release of "Redshift", produced in collaboration with their long-time partner and excellent producer on his own right, Gene. "Redshift" has the signature Deep'a & Biri sound, a pumping Detroit-indebted roller, with shout snippets riding in & out the keys-led workout. Keeping it in the Mediterranean, Greek producer Argy provides the remix, accenting the baseline and adding a spoken vocal that takes "Redshift" all the way to Chicago. Rounding off the package is "Blueshift", which demonstrates the team's melodic tendencies, with its more spatial arrangement perfect for those deep space moments.
