Dan Shake makes a solid return to his Shake Records imprint with three tunes ready to make an impact. ‘Paper’ and ‘Bounce’ are tinged with records from Dance Mania, hip house and acid house legend Tyree Cooper, and a cheeky trance mix Dan made with Yomanda ‘Synth and Strings’ in mind, one of the last track he played out to a crowd. ‘Paper’ and ‘Bounce’ are the reflection of an artist still feeling the vibe from his last gigs, which saw Dan make a debut at Printworks, and coin one of the last live Mixmag labs before the world went into lockdown. Dan explains - “I made these tracks in April 2020, immediately after the sudden cutoff of nightlife. My last weekend of gigs was incredible and left me with a big room, high energy mentality. I’d been listening to and playing out a lot of ghetto house and Dance Mania style records which no doubt pushed these tracks in that direction. Faster, harder and heavier than the majority of the music, ‘Paper’ and ‘Bounce’ gave me a hit of a sound I was craving and had just been immersed in. Directly inspired by an urge to be back on a dance floor, the thought of playing them out feels slightly surreal, but something that gives me tingles thinking about too.” Did Dan know he’d sit on this music for over a year before releasing it or playing it out? Perhaps not. However, timing is key and clubs and festivals within reach, he’s waited patiently for a time he knows they’ll hit the sweet spot we’ve all been missing.

Denis Sulta’s Silver Service imprint - an offshoot of Sulta Selects - present SSSS-3, a two-track collaborative package from the inimitable Hammer and Atlus, Denis’ own darker alias.
Taking reign over the A-side, Belfast export Hammer brandishes a weighty dose of low-slung, swollen bass and disorienting vocal stabs on ‘Dance Since’. Using a palette of cathartic 90s house vocals he morphs their energy into something far more twisted.
For the B-side, Atlus forges an equally hefty fusion of raw percussion and swirling vocals, spun round by a dizzying acid bass lead.
Wasting no time in heading straight to the dancefloor, SSSS3 sees two esteemed characters doing what they do best.

Jamie 3:26 and emerging Dutch artist Danou P welcome the next phase of their heady union with a timeless EP on Dan Shake’s imprint. ‘What It Is’ exhibits just how good the music can get when the synergy between two artists is on point, each track pureving an exhilarating atmosphere, and expansive journey. ‘ ‘What It Is’ spreads across three tracks that make up over 34 minutes of music, brimming with peaks and valleys, Danou’s keys elevating Jamie’s authentic beats straight from the heart of the Chicago dancefloor. Four timeless tracks each with their own mood, Cody’s hard hitting rhythms and rich chords are elevated by Eliza’s seductive vocal hooks. Dan Shake rounds off the package with a broken beat remix of title track ‘Flame’. Cody Currie comes through with another EP that exhibits his deftness in working with Eliza Rose’s signature vocals. The pair immediately turned heads earlier this year with their debut collaborative single ‘Moves’, which came out on Toy Tonics, and received high praise from Rolling Stone, 6 Music, Worldwide FM, and Radio 1. Dan Shake was another head instantly hooked in by ‘Moves’, and having admired Cody and Eliza respectively as individual artists for a long time, he knew it was time to sign them on Shake. “You instantly know a Cody release when you hear it and I just love his jazzy, laid back style” explains Dan. Introduced to Eliza’s music a while back, Dan “instantly fell in love with her voice. I knew I somehow needed to get them both involved with Shake, and I’m hyped to have a collaboration early on in what seems to be set to be a long standing collaborative journey between them” Eliza’s jazz infused tones embody the signature sound that multi-instrumentalist and producer Cody has crafted for himself on labels like Razor n Tape, Classic Music Company, and Toy Tonics. He’s a next generation producer connecting the dots between jazz, soul, house, garage and broken beats. DJ/Producer, vocalist and Rinse FM radio host Eliza Rose has been writing and singing since the age of 15. Paying homage is something at the forefront of Eliza’s artistry, which is apparent in her monthly Vinyl Factory Live series, and the lyrics to title track ‘Flame’ are a nod to Gwen McCrea’s ‘Keep The Fire Burning’. Four tracks each with their own mood, ‘Flame’ is one for the clubs, you’ll hear Cody’s vocal complement Eliza’s on ‘Another Lover’ which also has a stripped back Midnight Dub version, and Dan rounds off the package with a broken beat remix. A genre you don’t hear much of from Dan, but a scene he was highly influenced by in the mid 2000’s living in North London.
