ilija rudman - 1470 pacific coast ride feat boyd h. jarvis
Tracklist:
a1. Ilija Rudman Higher Ground b1. Ilija Rudman feat. Boyd H. Jarvis Take Me There b2. Ilija Rudman feat. Boyd H. Jarvis 1470 Pacific Coast Ride
Short info:
Ilija Rudman is quite a unique character. A fact reinforced by listening to some of the records from his vast catalogue, taking a walk through his next level studio or simply talking to him. Preferably, all three at once, as it is often the case. Authenticity is the word that comes to mind when describing the work of this leading Croatian artist or while listening to the material we are proud to put out on 12th Burek release. The record features three cuts. “Higher Ground” is Rudman’s solo effort while the two on the flip are coproduced by Boyd H. Jarvis, an American producer credited to numerous 12” on classic labels such as Trax Records, King Street Sounds, Movin’ Records and Dance Tracks (to mention a selected few). Although releases made in a similar fashion tend to sound somewhat unfocused, the result here is exactly the opposite. What we have here is 20 minutes of some of the slickest house music you’ll find, sounding so coherent that dissecting it track by track seems pointless. This is a 12” that will feel equally at home in a club or blasting through the speakers of your convertible while driving on the California
coast in the summer. More

Temples of Jura is proud to present ‘The Great Beyond’, the ninth studio album from Ilija Rudman. The concept of the album is the afterlife with words from Nikola Tesla, Slavoj Zizek, Jim Morrison, JF Kennedy, Charles De Gaulle, WH Auden, Azar Nafisi and Eleanor Roosevelt woven together to tell the story of ‘The Great Beyond’ and what may lie ahead for us all. The voice itself was created by Ai (let’s call him ERIC) and is set beautifully to music that has a timeless cinematic quality. Ilija only uses pure Analogue equipment in the creation of his music, resulting in a rich tapestry of basses, drums, chords and lead sounds. He’s been a prolific producer for over 20 years now with a discography that runs deep with more than 100 Vinyl EP releases and 8 studio albums, but we feel he’s reached the pinnacle with this concept album. We’ll leave the final word to ERIC “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.” More

Release Info:
The Croatian production powerhouse and disco boogie impresario steps up to International Feel, and takes a left turn into deep space with a new six track LP Pulsar Diaries.
Ilija’s discography stretches back to 2003, and over those 20 years he’s packed it full with albums, versions, remixes and singles. His releases are often perfectly-penned love letters to ‘80s boogie, electro and disco, and like postcards from an old flame, they’ve landed in an array of record label catalogs, from Bear Funk, Rong, and Electric Minds, to Is It Balearic? as well as his own Red Music and Imogen Recordings. He’s long-been an active voice on the underground club scene, and if you’ve been out dancing in Zagreb, Berlin or even Tisno beach, chances are you’ve gotten down to one of his beautifully blended sets of cosmic-tinged electro funk and disco dubs.
On Pulsar Diaries, Ilija delivers a panoramic collection of spaced-out synths and drum machine grooves, dedicated to the planet and our place in the universe. The A side opens up with the blissful, weightless pads of the title track, before it breaks out into filtered stabs over a minimal b-boy bounce. Delphic Expanse ebbs and flows like a lunar eclipse, sounding like a futuristic version of Key-Matic’s Breaking In Space, all uprock rhythms and syrupy synth horns as it spins off beyond the asteroid belt. Side A closes out with Blackburn Tales, a suspenseful and spacious electro rhythm packed with strings and 303 squelch, which you might call anti-gravity acid, if you were so inclined.
Side B picks up the tempo with Fourth Amendment, perfect for the space station discotheque with its sweeping bass filters and ice-cold synth melodies hovering in orbit. Farewell Theme takes an introspective moment, slowing the pace to a cosmic 90 bpm and inviting a certain cinematic feel to proceedings. This feeling applies not just to the vivid landscapes we travel through, but also wider thoughts about humankind: as we pause for a breath and look around, we find ourselves in Ilija’s space, considering human motivations, like the pursuit of happiness, or the eternal struggle with the self.
Every journey begins with a goodbye, and so the last track of the album feels like the arrival at a new destination: Ursa Major is ablaze with cascading drum fills, bubble-wrapped bass riffs and bright synth chords that sparkle like city lights underneath a re-orbiting satellite.
With Pulsar Diaries, Ilija Rudman has created a rare artifact: an album that straddles several worlds at once. Part soundtrack to space travel, part meditation on the human condition, part deep-burning dancefloor dynamo - whether in the club surrounded by friends or at home by yourself, this is a record that expands the mind and lets the imagination soar.

Croatian producer Ilija Rudman returns to Classic with his funk-drenched ‘Lovers Change Minds’. Well-known for his distinctive analogue-disco sound, the record’s delivery on 12” vinyl comes as a perfect pairing. He remains reverent to his well-rounded retro style with heavily filtered soft vocals complimented by a deep 70s-centric bassline. Hot Toddy’s bass-focused mixes come laden with electric guitar riffs and synth flares for an even slicker groove on Ilija’s smoothly minimalist masterpiece.

ilija rudman - "Never Forget"
3
ilija rudman - "Once & 4 All"
Ilija Rudman has a passion for disco, pure analogue disco at that with buckets of soul to boot. For over 10 years he's been producing bonafide dance music which has seen him team up with the likes of Mark E, Chaz Jankel, Steve Kotey, The Revenge and Greg Wilson amongst others with releases coming via Rong Music, Under the Shade, Bear Funk and Tirk labels. Here we see Ilija bring a 3 tracker to the table for the KAT imprint which brings somewhat of a change in direction for them as these are not re-edits or reworks but original tracks. ‘Just Remember' is a sultry Summer time Disco house melter which oozes all that's good about dance music... Fender rhodes, laid back guitar licks, strings and a groove that glides along effortlessly throughout but it's the ever so subtle dreamy soulful feel to this track that makes it really shine through. On the flip both tracks take on a slightly more uptempo House feel but the analogue sound continues... ‘Never Forget' really is all about the hooks...staccato guitar licks and a rhythm section that's more solid than your average breeze block. And 'Once and 4 all' ending things on a high with a breathy pad lead track that delivers on all fronts. Iliya's studio has taken 3 years to build and consists of 15 years of collecting studio gear all based around the MCI 542 D Series console from 1981. Fully restored, this is the hub to the whole operation which also has EMT compressors and limiters, 25+ synths including Moog, Prophet and Oberheim and a huge rack of drum machines and samplers. Ilija Rudman returns!

Surprisingly, it's been some four years since Croat producer Ilija Rudman dropped his much-played debut album, The Reveal, on Bear Funk. Happily, True Colours - his first outing on Is It Balearic - sees him in fine form, joining the dots between kaleidoscopic synth-funk, rubbery dub-disco, spaced-out boogie and glassy-eyed downtempo jams. Rudman is an expert at capturing the sounds of bygone eras, usually through the use of vintage equipment, while delivering tracks that sound thoroughly fresh and original. It's this that makes True Colours such a fantastic set. Highlights are plentiful, from the close dance smoothness of "Bad Passion" and boogie dub vibes of "All The Time" (check the delay-laden hits and sweeping violins) to the jaunty electro-goes-Balearic brilliance of "Wild Guess".

Croatian's finest purveyor of disco and boogie returns with a delish four track EP on Yam Who's ISM imprint. The four tracks have all the delicious trappings of Rudman; dramatic strings, ample helpings of cowbell and vintage synth stabs. The A-Side consists of the sleazy squelch of "Crazy With You" in both original and remixed by Yam Who form, with the latter, more uptempo version just shading it. The flipside consists of the sultry boogie bap of "Let This Dream Be Real", with the original bringing to mind a glacially paced version of Rockers Revenge classic "Walking on Sunshine", while the Disco Dirtbox tweak bumps and grinds in all the right places - totally primed for club play!

Tracklist:
a1. Preminitions Of A Solar Blank
a2. Invisible Breaths

B2. Walking with Slippers
Short info:
Marco Bernardi, a British producer with quite a flamboyant personality is no stranger to the Burek
family. Having already released an excellent 2-part 12” series titled “Laffer EP” for Barba last
year, it could’ve been expected that he’d appear on the mothership at some point. As on those
two records, there’s plenty of synth action going on, although with a little bit more restraint and
less roughness.
EP consists of 4 tracks, who’s names to some extent hint at what you might expect to hear when
you put the needle on - “Preminitions Of A Solar Blank”, “Invisible Breaths”, “Static Winds” and
“Walking With Slippers”.
The opener, “Preminitions Of A Solar Blank”, is a wonderful and rich composition, with a
melody-heavy approach which does not cripple it’s dancefloor momentum for one second.
Masterful!
“Invisible Breaths” is slightly deeper than the opener, with a subtle emotion buried between the
layers of synth lines that organically unravel throughout the track.
“Static Winds” is perhaps the closest to Marco’s earlier Barba output. A bit squeaky, a bit messy
and properly mental with a devastating effect on the dancefloor.
“Walking With Slippers”, last track on the release, is a very direct one, with a straightforward beat
and a heavy synth line which is just impossible to ignore. More

Tracklist:
a1. Damon Bell Stand By Me b1. Damon Bell Life Awaits You B2. Trans Atlantic Journey? We Been Here!
Short info:
Californiabased producer Damon Bell could not find a more suitable home for his new 12” than Croatian label Burek. It’s his first one since “Blues For The Libyan” LP released in 2015. for Deepblak, and it sounds as if the time off was well spent. Two words that perfectly describe this record are “rich” and “colourful”, and the description is equally applicable to all three cuts. “Stand By Me” is a synthheavy piece built around the interplay between track’s rougher sounds and big lush pads. On the flipside, “Life” is slightly faster and more direct, with a wonderful guitar part that circles around the main theme throughout the most of the track. Similarly mannered, but slightly more intense “ TransAtlantic Journey? We Been Here!” is the last piece and features an infectious groove with lead synth piercing through layers of delicate arpeggios playing in the background. All in all, it feels good to have Damon in the team. We hope you'll enjoy this record More

Short info:
We’re so excited to be the guys that get to deliver you this guy’s debut release. Luca Murgia
has a sound all his own – he really like tom toms, he likes spacey flourishes, and overall he
likes to deliver tracks with mobile electroy
grooves married to the stability of house. The
thing that really makes him special to us is the naturalness of feeling he achieves in his
productions – he has a neatness to his grooves – everything lines up so the body can move
freely and the dancer be in a state of flow. All four tracks on this EP have real singularity of
intent in their sounds and rhythms but vary dramatically in intensity.
New Release Information
Assembly is the track that you play just as the night picks up in pace. It’s not one of those
tunes with a vocal or a melody that everyone will know, but it’s got a jerky tom rhythm that
the most enthusiastic dancers will pick up on as soon as it hits. Luca goes on to sweeten the
brew with a spritely twanging bassline that comes in and out injecting energy without
disturbing the basic flow.
Future Window has those toms again, but much more in the background and a more
headdown
vibe to it with insistent keys and a bassline that pulses rather than bounces.
Finally, Tasks takes the template from the other tracks and gets it so drunk it almost falls
apart. There are more squeaks and burbles, the bassline twists wildly and the rhythm is on
the verge of collapse. At the right moment it’s a gnarly ride that’ll drive people crazy. More
A1: Tasks
A2: Future Window
B1: Assembly
B2: Proposal For Change

Tracklist: A1: Esa & Bennett - Time of Planck A2: Esa - Paradox Jaz (Recover) B1: Esa - Placid Universe B2: Esa - Drama Queen
Short info:
After nearly a year has passed by - and kitted out with heavy hitting drum timbres, hook laden nuances and a textured palette of unique effects - South African born Esa makes a welcome return to the Burek family fold with another EP that skirts the boundaries of the dance-floor and soaks up the sights and sounds of those on the peripheral edges.
A family that's consisted of many strays and deviants being welcomed in, Esa's EP is another mellifluous fit for the Croatian based house label that prides itself on beats that drip with greasy flavour and a fine follow on from his killer 'Serenity In a Forbidden Place' EP for the label in July of 2013.
EP opener 'Time Of Planck' is the first collaborative production between Esa and classically trained multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Bennett. Laying vocals atop deconstructed, radiating cosmic transmissions, Esa cautiously adds the reverberating oscillators to maximum effect over a washed out, hazy groove, while Bennett also provides tinkling key stabs. Paradox Jaz (Recover) plays further on the synth tapestries and relaxing organ overtones, following a traditional Detroit journey before gradually stepping up-tempo for a cantering, melody-led approach to the intricate details of a modern electronic jazz record.
Flip over for B-side opener Placid Universe, a light and dainty continuation of the previous side's atmospheric, worldly undertones before clicking snares and bulbous, low-end bass lines and acid squelches force their way into earshot. Drama Queen - perhaps the most schizophrenically visualized out of the collection - draws the EP to a close in attention seeking fashion, juxtaposing and flitting between light xylophone riffs and seething, pulsing and hell raising bass stabs, offering a resonating close to Esa's latest 4 track pack of all-original, hot-off-the-grill analogue productions.

Isaac Aesili & Charli James A4: Inkswel - Oishi Stylus (bonus beats) B1: Inkswel - No More Suckas (DJ Nature remix) B2: Inkswel - Minds Your (Iron Curtis remix) B3: Inkswel - Mind Yours (IG Culture remix)
Hot on the heels of his successful autumnal tour of Europe, the antipodean beatsmith and low-riding soul-brother, Inkswel, arrives on the eighth 12" from Burek Records. Considering Inkswel's been working with people like Merwyn from Virgo Four, Gifted & Blessed and Linkwood for the third release on his own Hot Shot Sounds imprint, we weren't surprised when he told us about the recent collaboration he'd had with Dave Aju. Naturally we were keen to get this out into the world, complementing it with great remixes and additional tracks from Inkswel. The A-side comprises three funkadelicious, shape-throwing, pop-locking slices featuring the talents of San Fran's Dave Aju, Melbourne's Cazeaux O.S.L.O, Christchurch's Isaac Aesili and Adelaide's Charli James. They wear their shared love for hiphop on their sleeves, replicating old school sampling techniques and twinning them with a feel for modernity. The open kicks and sax thrills that begin 'No More Suckas' cement syrupy pads and swirling keys as Dave Aju rhymes about that classic conundrum, being given the chance for a night of intimate relations. Rotascoping blips and pads combined with fat bass work underpin the conscious spoken word poetry of 'Mind Yours', and 'Saturated' closes the side with razor-sharp claps, wonky chords and 808 cowbells laying the foundation for vocal call and responses. In classic turntablist style the bonus beat track 'Oishi Stylus' is also included, evoking the Pacific Rim's interconnectivity with its Nipponese flavours cut over solid beats. This ain't hip-house, it's hiphop-house. On the B-side our trio of heavyweight remixers let rip, each in their characteristic inimitable styles. NYC's DJ Nature edits and extends No More Suckas, playing with the vocals and adding strong drum patterns with a lilting flute melody to turn in a true hypnotic deep house chugger. Berlin's Iron Curtis uses the pads and spoken word component of the original to prelude a darkly evocative late-night slice of enticement, with heavy off-kilter kicks, haunting bells and floating chords drawing the listener deeper and deeper. London's breakbeat legend IG Culture uses the same spoken word parts as Iron but recombines them into new patterns as he lays down massive echoing big-room bass and jukey snares to fashion the original into a tour-de-force of footwork. Inkswel proves that hiphop is the sibling of house music, and this EP helps join the dots between those two forms of music whilst taking it to future forms.

Tracklist: a1) Inspiration b1) Inspiration (Specter Remix) b2) Inspiration (Aubrey Dark Remix)
After the well received success of our last release by Esa, Croatia's finest bovine inspired label is excited to announce our next moo-sical offering. This time we've cast our A&R net eastwards and have snared Russian producer Denis Korsunskiy, aka Information Ghetto.
With releases on fine labels like Get Physical, 3rd Wave Music, Broque, PRO-TEZ and Multi-Vitamins, Denis stands out as one of front-runners of a wave of Russian producers to have emerged in the last decade. When not performing live as Clapan, he delves into various dubbed-out and industrialized soundscapes when producing as Information Ghetto. Working with both analogue and digital equipment using a live-jam 'on the fly' methodology, his emotional control and talent for audio manipulation stands out.
Here's how he describes 'Inspiration': "Inspiration is one of my favourite works so far. It's a unique composition which I envisioned and later managed to accurately replicate in the world of sound waves. I create my music in constant dialogue with my instruments and often they show me the limit of my creative processes, but with 'Inspiration' it turned out to be totally the opposite with me pushing my equipment to new levels and I believe I managed to consciously integrate into it the energy of when I was first introduced to electronic music. For me, those far-away days in the 90s were the period I remember fondly and love so much." Complimenting the original track we have a pair of gorgeous remixes; firstly from one of Chicago's finest masters of the deep, Specter, and other supplied by the techno pioneer and don who played such an integral part of the evolution of the genre in Europe, Aubrey.

Tracklist EP: a1) Serenity 021 a2) Forbidden place b1) Serenity in a forbidden place (Fudge Fingas remix)
Burek, Croatia's leading independent electronic label, brings you its sixth release, a superb 3 track EP entitled 'Serenity in a Forbidden Place', by South African born Glaswegian Esa. Drummer, producer and DJ, Esa Williams aka Mervin Granger has been a resident at Glasgow's Sub Club for over half a decade. As well as releasing as Mervin Granger and Esa he runs his own label, Rememory, and also partners Brian D'Souza in the live presentation of Auntie Flo, one of the nominees for 'Scottish Album of the Year 2013'. Esa's 12" on Burek spans the emotions upon returning to his native South Africa and the trials of becoming acquainted with his new home of Glasgow. Alongside Esa's original cuts we also have a superb remix from Edinburgh's Firecracker/Rush Hour alumni, Fudge Fingas. The remix encapsulates both of the original tracks and adds FF's own distinctive slant to them to finish an EP that we are most proud to present.

Tracklist EP: a1) Missing You (All The Time) a2) Come Closer b1) Missing You (All The Time) (Juju&Jordash remix) b2) Missing You (All The Time) -(Kikumoto Allstars remix)
Snuff Crew have an undeniable reputation for what they do, evoking the gritty origins of house music for the denizens of the digital era via their own productions and through their label, Snuff Trax. For its fifth offering, Croatia's Burek label is proud to present the first ever solo EP by Snuffo, one half of the Snuff Crew duo and the A&R mind behind Snuff Trax. The 2 slices of stripped down, dusty old school Chicago house are almost bipolar in nature. The title track, Missing You (All The Time), presents a more sensitive, slightly melancholic facet of all things Snuff, utilizing echoing 707 elements over a sturdy kick groove whilst dainty chords slowly envelope the listener. The EP's closing statement, Come Closer, a heads-down, late-night spine-tingler of a track, with a tougher, more jacking feel to it that will appeal to those who appreciate the pre-existing Snuff canon. Woozy pads, chilling SFX and a mean, stomping key-hook all ride atop that vintage, old school percussive groove that is inherent in all things Snuff, providing a finish to the EP's emotional gradient. Fleshing the EP out are two remixes of Missing You (All The Time) from opposite ends of the globe that widen the appeal of the whole EP. Critically acclaimed Amsterdam residents Juju & Jordash, fresh off the back of their widely lauded Techno Primitivism album, strip the track down, taking the raw melancholy of the original's chords and building the whole thing completely back up with ethnic drum rhythms and deep-space bleeps, as a hauntingly psychedelic voyage that rises and falls like the spring-tide. Australian producer Kikumoto Allstars, best known for his output on DJ Hell's International Deejay Gigolo imprint, takes the same chord sequence as the centre-piece for his interpretation, separating the track into two phrases. First a vocal refrain and sun-kissed Balearic keys raise the remix whilst a peaking acidic 303 line, big kick and ricocheting claps provide momentum and drive the remix to its finale.

Tracklist EP: a1. Toby Tobias - Running Away a2. Toby Tobias - Running Away (Homeboy Dub) b1. Toby Tobias feat. Be Atwell - Tres Mal b2. Toby Tobias feat. Be Atwell - Tres Mal (John Heckle remix)
Constantly providing quality over quantity Toby Tobias finally releases its debut on Burek. And as his biography states: "Toby's music is truly unique - in a genre now saturated with generic, formulaic music, Toby is one of the few who can claim to have his own sound"; so Toby brings to Burek its unique view on house music - tracks Running Away i Tres Mal. Running away is a classic house peak time tune with a 90's bass line, wonderful melodic synth stabs and a vocal sample which at its peak simply drives people crazy on the dance floor. Tres Mal wins the listeners almost instantly and has all the requirements to become a hit. Cleverly made arrangement, fat bass line and high quality production are filled with an exquisite vocal of Toby's close friend Be Atwell. On remix duty we have two up and coming producers. For Running away we chose a Croatian house talent Homeboy and he in return delivered a great rework, one of his best so far. In his hand Running away becomes a deep house tune with a moody ambiance and structure in which dance floor tuned chords from the original are turned to flow smoother. Without a doubt, John Heckle is one of last year's brightens stars. His tracks on Mathematics and Tabernacle Records have been among freshest productions around. Remix for Burek we can describe as his journey into deep house with his very own euphoric touch.

After quite some time now, and after super successful Kink's debut, we've got Burek number two. This time, Burek is excited to present a young japanese musician - Takaaki Shibuya - Humandrone. Takaaki says he's obsessed with hardware and old school sounds, citing Blake
Baxter, Mantronix and Carl Craig as his main influences... stating he finds his own music to sound like "science-fictional street music", and on his first edition on Burek we have a treat of four stylistically different house tracks common in their characteristic acid sound from which he draws his inspiration. Stay raw with us and dance!

Sergej and Pytzek from Croatia well know club Sirup have recently started a brand new music label called 'Burek'. First relese is mr. Srahil Velchev aka Kink! Hailing from Sofia, Strahil Velchev aka KiNK had been raving since he was twelve and started using modular software synthesizer at twenty. Few years later his first releases hit the shelves. Since then he has gone on to release on Ovum, Rush Hour, Pokerflat, Liebe*Detail, Classic, Mule Musiq and Dirtybird. KiNK describes his style as a combo of "Soul of the 70's, the groove of house and techno, the futurism and detail of experimental electronica and the raw energy of acid." The new Burek release, Yako/Leko, finds KiNK trying to step away from common club-oriented production and present himself in a totally different light. Yako is a dance mutant somewhere between speed garage, house, rave and dubstep that rips the dancefloor apart with its bassline and sends the crowd into a dancing delirium! Tune Leko on the B side is for those who are keen on deeper and more mellow sound. This track, featuring a lush driving beat laden with an infectious piano loop, brings the summer back! There are also bonus tracks - two exquisite remixes in their own right. The first comes from a gentleman who doesn't need a long introduction - Chris Duckenfield. Chris Chris gave Yako a new garb, the one that Mr Duckenfield does best - acid! Pytzek & Homeboy turned Leko into a real club monster. They kept the infectious bassline, piano hook and the atmosphere, but reworked the rhythm section in a way that gave the track a whole new dimension.
