Made me think of some Gemini tracks when I first heard it (that's a compliment). More

Sporadically crawling from the depths of the city's underbelly to deliver prime, raw house cuts he has graced the likes of Tigersushi, Get The Curse and I'm A Cliche with musical snapshots of darkness and light. Crackboy's latest is very much the soundtrack to the summer… The cheeky OFF TRACK heats the soul and soles as our feet and body are unable to resist the pounding kick-drum and purple samples. This is set to leave a Crackboy sized imprint on the summer of 2014.

When Joakim aka Cray76 moved back from NYC to Paris in 2019, he knew he wouldn't have access to a studio for a little while. And although he welcomed that forced pause in making music, he felt the need to take at least one piece of gear with him in his suitcase. It was the legendary Roland TB303, one of the simplest and quirkest synth ever made and maybe the one that had the most important influence on electronic music since the mid 80s. Having recorded a few beats on his Roland TR808 before he packed his studio in Brooklyn to be shipped back to France, Joakim decided to make a record only using those 2 machines, an « exercice de style » that is a tribute to 30 years+ of acid house and techno and a way to make tools that he could use in his DJ sets. It goes deep, it goes hypnotic, it goes rough, many flavors of acid are packed in this 808+303=1111 12inch. More

A long time in the waiting, this solo project as Hyperactive Leslie all started with an epiphany during a residency at La Gare back in 2018. A couple of years later and al.go.?itm has finally surfaced for air, the debut EP from this seasoned percussionist gone solo without a safety net – everything you hear on this EP is played by him with no re-recordings or additional sounds. Well, not quite solo. Scintillating through the sound recordings, mixes and production is the unmistakable flair of Joakim, the founding DJ of influential labels Tigersushi and Crowdspacer. Both sides of this 12 represent a side of what Meditation Tunnel is about : epic and melodic on Dreamsequence, psychedelic and hypnotic on Sunrise. We don't have much info to give about Vicram, partly because the artist doesn't want us to communicate the few things we know. But this is his first EP. It's super raw - not necessarily rough. Raw like a piece of sushi, an unpolished unvarnished beautiful piece of wood, raw like those bare drum machines and simple acid lines. Almost naive, like those early 90s IDM-techno record we cherish but with a very different angle. As usual, we liked Vicram because we don't really understand how he makes his music. More
