Mateo Dufour hails from Argentina and runs a number of his own labels but here finds himself on Politics Of Dancing with an irresistible new hand-stamped white label 12". It's direct to dancefloor business from the off with the bristling drums and perc powering along 'Let Yourself Go' beneath snatched vocal yelps. There is just as much silvery metallic texture on show in 'Power Of Them', a jacked-up house sound with more vocal encouragement and neon melodic phrases panning about the mix. 'Dashed Street' is a third and final steel-plated house cut before cultured Frenchman D'Julz remixes 'Dashed Street' into a smoother tech house cruiser. More

Politics Of Dancing once again gets our vote here with some balmy deep house propositions from the eponymous production team working alongside French stylist Djebali. 'Close To Gate' layers balmy pads and smeared chords over punchy and dynamic drums with plenty of cosmic effects up top. There is a little more urgency to 'Soul Brothers' which skates and skips along nicely beneath shimmering vocals sounds and wispy melodies. 'Simple Minds' brings more physical drum work and infectious finger clicks while the Franco Cinelli remix gets things on more of a breezy and rolling tip. A useful, heartwarming EP of modern deep house music. More

The ever wonderful Politics Of Dancing come with four remixes of label stalwart Tommy Vicari Jnr jumping, pumping house stormer 'Look I Your Eyes', each carefully crafted to cover slightly different areas of the dancefloor. The Silverlining Night dub remix takes pride of placer on side A, a mix of two halves for sure - it starts of all full pelt, adds a subtle layer of disco-style strings and then drops to a dramatic breakdown before re-building brick by brick. Josh Baker's version has a slightly 80s feel with its mechanised handclaps and swooping synths wrapped in echoey vocals, the Lowris mix is arguably the most no nonsense, straight ahead thumper and then we're left to luxuriate in the sumptuous ooze of Cosenza's dub house re-reub, taking us all the way back to the days of Guerrilla at their h=eight. Another pumping package from Politics Of Dancing, with original tracks from the eponymous label boss and Ray Mono, and a pair of remixes from Cab Drivers and Cuartero respectively to boot. You know what to expect - smooth pads, subtle acid squelch and wriggling, irresistible teccy beats, relentless and super-playable, but with an ear for detail that makes sure they stay fresh right to the runout groove. Sheffield based Tommy Vicari Jnr's chunky, tribal and vocal house tune 'Look In Your Eyes' has been big ever since it surfaced in 2004, and it still gets great crowd reactions to this day. Politics of Dancing now re-issue it with a fine selection of new remixes. The original still sounds future with its silky synths and metallic drums, and the bassline really is killer. Silverlining steps up with a 90's house version that is all slick electronic funk. Sweely then speeds it up further, allowing the original vocal to really tug at the heart strings. Following the release of a handful of fifth anniversary EPs, France's Politics Of Dancing Records has decided to kick-start a new era for the label via a joint EP from serial collaborator Stephan Bazbaz and sometime Discotech Wax/4Plae Records contributor Alessio Viggiano. To our ears, the undisputed EP highlight is smooth, spacey and rolling opener 'Mogora', a late '90s style UK tech-house/deep house crossover cut that comes accompanied by a smoother and more hypnotic rework by Arapu. Over on the flip, the pair first offer up the more driving, angular and peak-time ready bounce of 'Immortal', before wrapping sharp, angular electronic melodies and warming chords around more bustling beats on bold closing cut 'Amaro'. Politics Of Dancing's popular P.O.D Edits series returns for the first time in three years to deliver two more peak-time reworks, this time courtesy of scalpel fiends Olivier Romero and John Richard. To be honest, we have no idea what they've re-edited, but the results are undeniably impressive. Romero handles side A and serves up a dark, dense and intense epic - all deep, loopy bass, percussion-rich tribal house grooves, wonky spoken word snippets and pitch-black aural textures. Richard takes a different approach, successfully tooling up a roling house excursion rich in wayward acid lines, layered speech samples, half-whispered vocal and undulating lead lines. More
