Melbourne’s got it (goin’ on)! Returning back to the city we hauled in yet another producer. M5K fixes us up with three edgy House tracks together with smooth, synthesized melodies and a wicked kick.
M5K has built up quite the resume, with releases on Melbourne recordlabels. Not just some new kid on the block, eh! Exactly the reason we’re excited to have him featured on Dopeness Galore.
The A side will get the party started. ‘We Got It (Goin’ On)’ reels you in with the synthesized boogie and sci-fi sound effects the Melbourne sound is known for. The track steadily climaxes to a high-energy war of sounds, making you want to get on
down by laying the track down with a double kick. Now, get ready for the flip side! We kept the artwork black, because this release
just feels dirty. Just listen to how grimy the bass gets and let Shawty tell you why. The final and title track is layered with repeating chords over a groovy baseline. M5K really breaks it down with ‘Healin Feelin’.
Sounds like Mike Dunn from Melbourne, if you like the edge of MD X-press you shouldn’t miss this! More

There's something magical about certain cities and their respective scenes. Whether we're talking about New York, Berlin, London or Moscow, you can always expect quality when they are mentioned in a conversation. The same goes for the up-and-coming but always interesting Melbourne. Over the last couple of years we've seen a strong increase of Australian producers dropping one great project after another. Artists that come to mind are names like Tornado Wallace, Fantastic Man, Michael Ozone and Andras Fox. Add a vibrant nightlife and a couple of young producers next in line and you end up with a city to be reckoned with. One of those names is M5K, a young Melbourne based producer who's been creating a buzz the past year by releasing on the established Melbourne Deepcast label and doing a string of DJ gigs in and around the city. And now we have the priviledge to release his very first full length EP. And it's an absolute belter of a project. The EP opens up with 'SKY ROAD', a fast burner clocking in just under 7 minutes. The track is filled with heavy arpeggio synths, a thumping bassline and heavy drums. In other words, the perfect peak time tune that will do justice to any dancefloor. The B side however, starts out with the more laid back 'SPIRIT LEVELS' which is a track that can only be described as 'cinematic'. It's once again very synth heavy but the song creates such an atmosphere that it's hard to miss its nuances and subtleties. To top it all off, we have the honour of none other than UK based producers Deep Space Orchestra on the remix tip of 'SKY ROAD'. Flipping the original in such a creative way but still honing in to the feel of the M5K track, this remix can only be classified as an absolute thrill to listen to. It takes the groove of the original and extends it to an incredible build up, of which we are sure will enrichen every DJ set.

Andy Hart launches a new series for Voyage with two dubbed out club tools. 'Neutron Capture' is a chuggy acid number with crisp drum programming, glitched out synths and a weighty 303 line. On the flip 'LFTR' offers up a hypnotic roller complete with reverberating stabs, crunchy hits and expansive textures.
If this is a sign of things to come for Hart's new outlet expect a string of club ready, dancefloor orientated cuts from Australia's golden boy. More

Over the past three years Melbourne's Albrecht La'Brooy have patiently cultivated their own space within Australia's prolific electronic music scene. Deeply rooted in techno's ambient influences, the duo improvise their compositions with an overarching approach that breaks away from techno's conventional presentation. Recorded in one take from beginning to end, Escape Velocity sees Albrecht La'Brooy take on the Voyage aesthetic and principles to create a twenty five minute odyssey spanning four passages, to be played continuously across the 12 Inch medium. Utilising both sparse, drifting ambient palettes and driving, machine-led rhythms, Escape Velocity is a pensively uplifting account of future travels through space and the ninth installment to the Voyage catalogue.

Flori's Life Signs marks the eighth release for Voyage and the UK artist's debut for the label. An ode to the unexplored landscapes of Mars, Flori uses a refined aesthetic, not dissimilar to the original star gazers of Detroit, to imagine and encapsulate the reality of being alone on Point Lake. Two driving explorations, accompanied by a pensive ambient excursion, Life Signs takes Flori and Voyage into the areocentric orbit of our closest terrestrial neighbour.

Andy Hart returns after an almost two-year hiatus from the studio to release his first EP on the Voyage imprint. Following on from Urulu's Greetings From Namek, Mistress In Your Mind is the sixth release and adds to a growing collection that already includes releases from Harvey Sutherland, M5K and CTEPEO '57. Mistress in your Mind loosely stems from the intertwining influences of a love-induced delusion broken down over four tracks. Hart draws sentiment from several aspects of his record collection, giving subtle nods to break beat, soul, acid and space-laden house.

Voyage returns with the discovery of an until now unknown artist. Unearthed from the hull of an abandoned discovery probe, the origins of Ausländer are undisclosed and unlikely to be uncovered. The three artefacts revolve around what is only understood as Ausländer's Theme, which is twice reinterpreted on the flip. No doubt made with machines, this wondrous exploration of thought, rhythm and undiscovered worlds is a welcomed addition to the Voyage catalogue.
