Info:
Bucharest's own Khidja have been an active part in the local nightclub scene over the past years. After first appearing as co-compilers of the Romanian Jazz LP for Sonar Kollektiv, it was finally a remix for Baris K on [Emotional] Especial in late 2013 which put the duo on the want list of many tasteful DJs around the world. The time was just perfect to appear with oriental soundscapes having been the most sought-after spice in dance music during that summer period. Two original EPs on Especial and Forgotten Corner popped up in spring 2014 and gave evidence that Khidja scheduled themselves to be around for the long term. Looki stands out to be the perfect Balearic aftermath to Telephones' previous release on Love On The Rocks. Pursuing the transcendent motive from sunrise to sunset, it is far away from the arabesque melodies of their previous productions. Khidja speak their hearts to the sound of the Neo-New-Age generation - no beat, no stress, just a guitar, the beach and the sea. To accompany are three remixes to catch any imagination. Godfather of the MDMA-infected sound synthesis, Lauer needs no further introduction, epic as ever, the perfect take, moving the track from chill out to dance floor with uplifting grace. Australian newcomer Fantastic Man is next, dropping the guitar for good and kicks in with a polyrhythmic tribal rhythm for a dance floor friendly mood. Closing the EP are the one and only Africaine 808, who bubble up the original with a cascade of reverbs and delays, embedded in a reduced yet complex dub beat, constantly raising desperate demands for that unattainable peak moment.
Available on four track EP and digitally.

Khidja - Back To Vid (Azu Tiwaline Remix)
Khidja continue to develop their tripped out vision with their first full EP for Hivern since 2019's 'Impossible Holiday'. In 'Something In The Water' the Romanian duo presents three new tracks that drift between genres and moods through open minded studio experimentation. "The Future Has Disappeared" and "Back To Vid" rely on contrasting sound palettes and a smart use of the stereo field to build up tension while 'Science of Ghosts' is an expansive number of galactic electro-funk. The 12" features a stripped out mystical remix by Azu Tiwaline while the digital release includes two extra oddball dancefloor cuts. Artwork by cm-dp.

2018 is going to see the bond between Khidja & Malka Tuti strengthen, with the Romanian duo bringing forward their eclectic, cross-genre approach to electronic music in the shape of 2 full releases as well as several remixes tba. "Plot" & "Am I Really Here" are two dance-floor bangers, not hiding behind fashions and hype, the duo is pushing forward on both tracks, each with its own idea and story to tell. This one continues Malka Tuti’s 12” dance series perfectly, with both tracks being pressed on 45rpm and getting each its own side.

Flore and Rusu met in high school. Growing together through various musical phases, they ended up channeling their love for outlandish dance music into one of the most exciting projects to emerge from the bubbling Eastern Europe underground scene. In their Hivern debut, they keep pushing the boundaries of their sound to forge some of their boldest productions to date. In all four tracks of Impossible Holiday, we find distinctive elements of the Khidja palette recomposed under a new (and darker) light. The 12 inch comes wrapped in a sleeve featuring an oil painting by the Romanian artist Serban Savu and design by Arnau Pi.

Coming hot on the heels of Khidja's return to the label with their Never Seen The Dunes EP, is a set of remixes by friends and family of the label and band, featuring no less than Discodromo, Inflagranti, Red Axes and Selvy on mixing desk duties. A proper Remix EP with all 4 tracks from the original EP getting a proper European flavoured rework. Starting with Discodromo, this dynamic Italian duo produce for the likes of Dissident, Internasjonal and Slow Motion Records, DJ around the globe and run the exemplary CockTail's d'Amour label out of their Berlin base. Their unique take on the modern discoid sound is perfect for the title track and taking right to the red zone. Adding pulsating bass, driving appegio, all while allowing the bump of the original to keeping pushing things on, it's a perfect introduzione. This is followed by Inflagranti's inspired retake of the deeper vibes of Aura. A huge favourite of the label, the Swiss team keep the bass and dam' funk, but head straight for the autoban to create an old school NYC electro-dub style remix. A matured cruiser that keeps the swing, it all leads to those strings and Eastern flavours gliding over for the perfect finale. Things head darker on the reverse, with Tel Aviv's shinning stars Red Axes, maning the controls for the scatter bounce of Indecis for the stand out remix. Twisted vocals, brooding FX and reversed guitar all atop a mesmeric kick, things just keeps going higher and higher. Finally The Quiet Before The Red Stop is passed on to a name for the future, Selvy. With appearances on Polish Cut Outs and a recent EP for Transatlantyk, here he takes the 'Balearic' grooves of the original adding some club bumpin' bottom end and kick while maintaining a lightness for the White Isles. A perfect way to round off. Watch the skies (and basements).

It's fair to say Khijda's debut EP on Especial was one of the highlights of the label to date. Mustafa - in original form and remixed to distraction by Timothy J Fairplay - became the soundtrack for many a Summer party, while Abul was perfect for those deeper late night afters. This time though we present a stand alone 4 track EP of original music so that Khijda's sound can be full explored. Starting with the title cut, the duo aim right for the dance floor, mixing throbbing live bass, guitar and a touch of Eastern mystic vocals that twist and rise higher and higher. This is followed by the deep dub vibes of Aura. Coming on as if the idjut Boys had relocated to Istanbul, the bass rumble and tripped out fx are overlaid with strings, xylophone and even a nice does of (more) cowbell that is full of funk and ass moving swing. On the flip is where things take a warped turn with Indecis. It's incessant rhythm and Eastern flavour, mixed with 80's style cut up vocals, take the sounds championed by Baris K and Acid Arab to new (and bazar) heights. Finally then, the EP comes down with the beautiful 'Balearic' grooves of The Quiet And The Red Stop. With a nod to their roots Khidja again forge their own journey, creating and carving out a sound of their own that is unique and at the same time compelling. Watch the skies.

Tracklist EP:
A1. Alex Kassian - Oolong Trance (Club Mix)
A2. Alex Kassian - Oolong Trance (Paradise Mix)
B. Alex Kassian - Oolong Trance (Telephones Remix)
Alex Kassian steps up for his first solo 12" on Love On The Rocks with 'Oolong Trance', a driving, tropical-tinged uplifting acid trip in 'Club' and 'Paradise' mixes and a supercharged 'ADHS' mix from Telephones.
Kassian is no stranger to the label, which celebrated its fifth birthday last year with the 4-part 'Supergau' compi-lation that opened with Kassian's 'Chopstick Romance'. He also remixed Ghost Vision in 2018 on their Love On The Rocks debut, 'Shakuhachi'.
Young Kassian from Kyoto, who has the silkiest hair in house, has recently been enjoying success alongside his longtime collaborator Hiroaki OBA as Opal Sunn, taking their live show on tour around Europe and Asia with stops at Field Maneuvers in the UK and Panorama Bar in Berlin. Their first releases on their own imprint, Planet Sundae, got the attention of the late Andrew Weatherall (RIP) and early support from the likes of DJ Sprinkles and Nick Höppner, who released their last two EP's on his label, Touch From A Distance: 'Parallax' in late 2018, and 'Laika', earlier this year.
As well as being Kassian's debut on the label, 'Oolong Trance' is the first Love On The Rocks record for 2020, so, what's in the tea?
The Club mix is classic Kassian: big kicks, driving percussion, swirling pads, a tropical sunrise, a celestial or-gan and a large dash of acid. The Paradise Mix is what you get when you let it brew a couple seconds longer: off the charts trance levels and Alex delivering some truly ecstatic piano work, channelling the spirit of a young George Michael, truly intoxicated on the Oolong drank.
Telephones also delivers a hell of a brew, with his 9-minute, 90s house and garage inflected 'ADHS' remix tak-ing the keys off in yet another direction and delivering a energetic, Chicago-inspired oddball rework with hints of Detroit and more than a few drops of old school, classic house spiritualism. The tea, as they say, is particularly good today.

Tracklist EP:
A. Longhair - The Forbidden Dance (Original Version)
AA. Longhair - The Forbidden Dance (Rhumba Version)
From the murky depths of Berlin comes a monster, a wicked beast with two heads, a strange penchant for house music and the bizarre. Longhair is the duo made up of Marko aka Homeboy and Bene from Peak & Swift, two well known figures in the Berlin musical community who have begun to amass inter-est and intrigue as a production outfit, appearing on imprints like House Is OK and Bordello A Parigi. There is an unholy amount of musical ammunition ready to be unleashed upon the innocent world and it's bloody great.
There are plenty of influences from all kinds of corners in Longhair, from 80's synth sounds, to Italian dream house beats, but it clearly has its own vibe as they demonstrate on "The Forbidden Dance", their debut single for Paramida's Love On The Rocks label.
A ubiquitous summer hit in the making: a sure-fire combo of unforgettable melody, nostalgia kicks, totally dreamy production and the sound of seagulls. On the flip, we find the Rhumba mix, a mostly beatless counterpart, perfect for DJs that want to get creative.
Longhair's take on house music is emerging as a sound of their own; groovy, very danceable but laid back, marked by a progressive approach and a softer attitude and ultimately an ideal match for Love On The Rocks.

Paramida made her name as an integral part of the new Berlin school of DJs embracing a more expansive sound, a charismatic and eclectic idealism beyond the steady, straight-forward pulse of house and techno. Following five years at the city’s
diverse OYE Records store, and alongside an international schedule of DJing, she has spent the previous five crafting her
Love On The Rocks label in that same generous spirit.
Now, with half a decade passed, she has called upon many of the label’s previous associates, alongside some new faces, to
curate a five-disc compilation produced upon the adventurous and personal principles upon which the label was founded. The
title of the collection is ‘Supergrau’, which Paramida explains to mean, "A disaster beyond all expectations". It’s a typically
pithy title for a label that’s found a unique groove between dancefloor fulfillment and surprising turns, keeping it’s dedicated
buyers and open-minded DJs on their toes, just as Paramida likes it. Still, it hasn’t always been easy.
This compilation represents five years of ups and downs, tears and joy, growing, losing and finding itself again. I've never
really questioned or reflected it much. The label has been pretty much a mirror of my personal life, my taste at a certain point
and the artist or person that was involved in my life at that particular stage of my life. As such, I want to give this first chapter

This compilation represents five years of ups and downs, tears and joy, growing, losing and finding itself again. I've never
really questioned or reflected it much. The label has been pretty much a mirror of my personal life, my taste at a certain point
and the artist or person that was involved in my life at that particular stage of my life. As such, I want to give this first chapter
of Love On The Rocks a nice closure.”
Some artists on the compilation return to the fold, such including Fantastic Man, Massimiliano Pagliara, Violet, Elles, Etbonz,
Dirk Leyers and Alex Kassian. Others are featured for the first time such as Francis Inferno Orchestra, Bartellow and Eric
Duncan. And others again are a complete surprise, including Kornel Kovacs, Daniela La Luz and Hermann Kristoffersen. ‘5
Years of Love On The Rocks’ presents an opportunity for artists to explore the charismatic boundaries between house, disco,
new wave and acid, with the shared goal of sheer dancefloor bliss.

C1. Warehouse Preservation Society - Loving Touch
C2. Francis Inferno Orchestra - Drongo Bongo
B. P&D (Paramida & Dirk Leyers) - Deal

Romie Singh - Cry Freedom
limited one sided with etching
Tracklist EP:
A. Romie Singh - Cry Freedom
Release Info:
Love On The Rocks returns with its first release for 2019 and its first-ever reissue, “Cry Freedom” by Romie Singh.
It’s hard to love with so much fighting, hard to love with so much war / All they want is gold and silver, all they want is time to love / And freedom to dance.
Thirty years after its initial release, the song feels timeless and its message feels more relevant than ever. 1989 was a year of drastic global shift that brought globe-altering change to Johannesburg, Berlin, Moscow, and Beijing. 2019 marks another stage global shift with the tightening of borders, erosion of civil liberties and human rights, and endless beating of the political drums calling for division and war, Singh’s lyrics express a universal call that echoes around the world, with no regard for borders, race, colour or creed. The cry for freedom. To live. To love. And that most fundamental expression of joy and unity known in every culture and corner of the world...to dance!
“Cry Freedom” is the 19th release on Love On The Rocks. It is issued as a limited edition of 300 hand-stamped and numbered 12” vinyl containing the 10-minute, 22-second ‘long’ version of the track as originally released on the 1989 maxi single. The other side contains an etching based on the original album cover artwork.

Tracklist EP:
A1. Ghost Vision - Shakuhachi
A2. Ghost Vision - Shakuhachi (Tokyo Black Star Atlantis Remix)
B. Ghost Visoon - Shakuhachi (Al Kassian Remix)
In late 2017, Thomas Gandey and Danny McLewin - known from the popular disco-influenced electronic music collective Psychemagik - emerged from their studio in Bordeaux, France, claiming to have produced an extended musical arrangement, both entitled, and containing the sounds of, the shakuhachi. Furthermore, they insisted, for the purposes of this production, and a further album of related arrangements to be released subsequently in conjunction with the successful German record label Kompakt, they should be referred to henceforth as Ghost Vision. Shortly thereafter, the audio recordings described by Gandey and McLewin came into the possession of noted Los Angeles degenerate, DJ and nymphomaniac [citation needed] Dirty Dave, who was quick to relay the hallucinatory qualities of the duo's productions to fellow DJ and trusted hallucinogenic expert Paramida, of esteemed German musical imprint Love On The Rocks.
Paramida, recognising the innate quality of the sounds presented to her, decided that such recordings warranted immediate release through her audio distribution channel, and not without remixes. Quite without thinking of the origins of the instrument which had given the recording its particular sonic distinguishment, and of course, its title, she enlisted the help of two musicians named Alex - one from Tokyo, and one from Kyoto. Both Alex From Tokyo - teaming up with his colleagues Isao Kumano & Kenichi Takagi as Tokyo Black Star, known for their prior releases on popular German label Innervisions - and his counterpart, Alex from Kyoto, better known as Al Kassian, rising Tamagotchi on Paramida's Love On The Rocks imprint, and his own label, Planet Sundae - turned in striking reinterpretations of Gandey and McLewin's composition. It was reported that upon their arrival and first listen at Love On The Rocks headquarters, wild dancing broke out almost immediately and did not stop for more than 36 hours.
The resulting package of stereo recordings was finally released for public broadcast and manipulation by disc jockeys in early 2018, to much rejoicing, from London to L.A., throughout Europe, Japan and everywhere music is played. It marked the first release for the label in their fourth year of operation, in which, it has been noted, there is much to look forward to.

Tracklist EP:
A1. Bye / A2. High Hopes / B1. Back and Forth
Omer joins the Love On The Rocks family with a massive underground smash, the not-so-well-kept secret rework that’s been doing the rounds recently among a handful of trusted DJs, inducing hands-in-the-air hysteria and clocking up more than a few plays in clubs from Robert Johnson to Panorama Bar. Finally it lands here as the title track of the EP, perfectly tooled for any poolside dance party. Phew!
Finding just enough room for another huge jam to share the same side, Omer moves effortlessly into his trademark late night melancholic trip territory with High Hopes, leading in with snapping percussion before giving way to a fierce bassline, swirling layers of melody and synths that resonate with warmth and emotion.
Rounding out the proceedings, Back and Forth pulses with electric energy from the word go, quickly pulling you into its distinctly neon after-dark atmospherics, with a forboding hook that twists around itself amid spiralling tension, and on into euphoria. You and me to the party, you and me all night. You and me to the party, you and me all night. More

BUNKR - J
Tracklist EP:
A1. Cloud Chaser / A2. Cloud Chaser (Shan Love Mix) / B1. Juno's Recenge / B2. Juno's Revenge (Igor Tipura Remix)
BUNKR enslave dust-coated synthesizers, dilapidated drum machines and rusty FX boxes to craft 4/4 tunes for their impatient overlords. Their vision is clear - they will make techno, they will make house, they will make electronica, and you will listen and dance.
It's not yet clear if BUNKR is the work of one frenzied human or many lazy individuals but we do know one thing - the ringleader is one James Dean, who previously released as Lost Idol on labels such as Pork Recordings, Nature, Final Frontier and Cookshop. Following a prolonged spell of writing music at slow tempos, Dean initiated BUNKR as a reactionary desire to speed things up. Too much time had been spent just sitting around - it was time to stop sitting and start dancing.
True to their vision, here we have 'Cloud Chaser', a bubbling jam backed with a huge remix from Shan, who flips the mix with dramatic strings, sprinkles of magic dust and massive amen breaks. No less impressive is 'Juno's Revenge', a track you'd turn up on your headphones while taking a nice afternoon stroll on the moon, on a sunny morning after a long interplanetary rave. Igor Tipura delivers the rework, complete with a marching percussion workout and acid chemtrails that will send you right back to 1993.

Totes Preesh - No Title
A1. Head Shop Boys / A2. Haole
Totes Preesh make tracks for your ears. Sean Marquand and Patrick Wood of New York City have created these sounds for you and your friends and tooled them to perfection, for your pleasure. Whether you're at home, or in the club, or driving around in your car, looking for drugs, you can count on these guys to soundtrack your day correctly. They were featured on 2015’s ‘Mangiami - La Compilation’ on Golf Channel Recordings, but this is their first 12”. They are here to make you bump to a cosmic sound that is sexy and pristine, and yet, also feels exactly like two buffalo boys going round the outside, round the outside.
Double A-side alert. First up ‘Head Shop Boys’, a kicky, kinky, neon affair, perfect for late-night debauchery; on the flip, ’Haole’ is a straight up trip with some serious old school New York flavour, and will undoubtedly prove to be the world’s first crossover drive-time club banger. More

Das Komplex - No Title
Tracklist EP:
A1. Szlugi / A2. Polonez / B. Flauta
Das Komplex, aka Marcin £ukaszewicz aka.. what is this guy’s name? Whoever he is, he is fucking slow. But word on the street is, he is super happy, to be slow, and to make records, and build ships, or whatever it is that he does, when he’s not answering our emails. Rumour has it, that Henry is the man who built the Ostbahnhof - with his own bare hands.
Before that he was making music. For twenty carefree, happy-go-lucky years. Recently, he started releasing some of it, much to his surprise, on nice, family-themed labels such as Young Adults and Father & Son. This is his first offering for Love On The Rocks. It’s sublime, it’s soft, and it wants you to fall in love, at night, back in the days, under the electric light of your favourite dancefloor, with two major jams on the A-side, and a consciousness-altering, life-changing, dance floor destroying, 13-minute disco trip on the other. Music to microdose to. More

Etbonz - My kinda future, Prins Thomas Diskomiks
Tracklist EP:
A. My Kinda Future
B. My Kinda Future (Prins Thomas Diskomiks) Elliott Thomas, AKA Etbonz, Portland's prodigal son, touches down for the first time on LoveOn The Rocks with 'My Kinda Future'. Etbonz, the lovechild of Buckaroo Banzai and TheTalented Ellen Ripley, utilises the latest KrystalVision™ technology over this eleven and a half minute opus to bring you to the edge of a future where maybe, just maybe, Arnold didn't kill the Predator.. Where some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favourite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if you paid your dues. Where you can’t even get to the chopper, because Kurt Russell is in the cockpit with a head full of acid, wearing a hat made of drum machines. Should we check it out? Or just check into a psycho ward? Whichever comes first, huh?
It's a kinda future that leaves you asking yourself, if I am not me, then who the hell am I? Am I Prins Thomas? What is a Diskomiks? You ever fuck a mutant? Tall guy, weird clothes. First you see him, then you don't.
The best mindfuck ever! More

A. TM (DJ Steve edit)
B. Gadaafs (DJ Steve edit)
Occasionally, a record — or sometimes even a DJ — simply falls out of the sky, like so many unexplained showers of fish, or midnight deliveries of frozen piss from passing jumbo jets. And so it was when DJ Steve first came to our attention in 2011 via Tim Sweeney, who discovered him quite by chance DJing in the Italian seaside town of Tropea. Sweeney, on vacation in the area, was so impressed with Steve he passed him his card, telling him to call him if he ever made it to New York. Some time later, DJ Steve did make it to New York, called Sweeney and turned up at the Beats In Space studio, barely speaking any English but with a pile of “DJ Steve special cuts”, white labels and acetates, and laid down an extended mix - “Italian
style!”. Then, nobody ever really heard from him again. Fast forward to Berlin 2013, and the mix had become a staple at the after hours of a small group of friends, including Paramida, who would soon start Love On The Rocks. They called it “the DJ Steve experience”. Paramida counts it as one of her main musical inspirations, saying it showed her another perspective of groove, and turned her perception of dance music “upside down”. And still, nobody seemed to know who he was. speaking any English but with a pile of “DJ Steve special cuts”, white labels and acetates, and laid down an extended mix - “Italian style!”. Then, nobody ever really heard from him again. Until one day in early 2016, after years of exhausting all her contacts in an effort to track him down, after all the blood, sweat and tears, and countless hours spent interrogating various dance music insiders, Paramida finally received a message.
“Minkia, stu pezzu nci spunda u culu e passari!” Whatever that meant, it was instantly clear that her search had come to a conclusion. Despite the near-indecipherable dialect, and other obvious communication problems, Paramida somehow persuaded him to sign two of his “special cuts” for Love On The Rocks, which would soon become the record you now hold in your hands.
As DJ Steve had put it so well: “Dick! This thing could pierce the anus of a sparrow!”. Amen. More

Sharif Laffrey - pony j.a.m.
2
Sharif Laffrey - pony roger
Tracklist EP:
A. PONY J.A.M. - B. PONY ROGER
Detroit enigma Sharif Laffrey makes a return to Paramida's Berlin-based Love On The Rocks imprint with ‘Pony EP’. The two track EP marks his second release with the label (following ‘Key Jam (A.C.I.D.)’) and his third release in three years - something of a roll for Laffrey who typically allows years to pass between each outing.
A-Side: ‘PONY J.A.M.’
Over 9 minutes of what sounds like nineties 4/4 Indian acid-house bass music - in the best way. Surprising vocals & a healthy 3 minute lead in.
B-Side: ‘PONY ROGER’
If the pony you were riding on the A-Side was galloping through a grassy meadow - this pony heads into a dark cave. If the A-side is The Never Ending Story then the B-side is The Dark
Crystal. But with Prince instead of Bowie. Sharif Laffrey has been playing records and making music for 20 long hard years. Born in Detroit, Michigan - he’s worked on the line checking camshafts for Chryslers & at Submerge for Mike Banks - at the same time. He toured Asia with Juan Atkins and once had to chase a grown man through the streets at night, who had crawled into his living room through an open window.
An active member in Detroit’s early rave scene, Sharif remembers booking all foreign gigs with something he calls a fax machine. More

Paramida presents - Ms. Bombastic (Pepsi Edit)
limited! vinyl only!
Tracklist EP:
A. Beyong Katovl (Pepsi Edit) / B. Ms. Bombastic (Pepsi Edit)
Paramida proudly presents TEHRAN BOMB - the first in the new edit series from Love On The Rocks.
This EP represents the first outing for label boss Paramida on her own Love On The Rocks imprint since its debut EP from Massimiliano Pagliara in 2014.
Two edits bound to induce air raid sirens and international sanctions from Isfahan to Tel Aviv, A-side Beyond Katovl channels peak time Hi-NRG tension and proto-trance euphoria to send early-morning chills down the spines of unwitting ravers and U.N. delegates alike.
B-side Ms. Bombastic takes the long way home, luring unsuspecting bystanders into a hypnodelic desert march to the outer rims of the after hours, proceeding through the Neukölln Sahara with a heavy-driving bassline on a seven-minute journey to a hitherto-unknown spiritual oasis. Supported by camel herders and snake charmers from here to Ahvaz. B-O-O-M. More

Raxon - Kryptonite
Tracklist:
(1) Raxon – Robotalia (DE-Q20-23-00013)
(2) Raxon – Kryptonite (DE-Q20-23-00014)
Release Info:
Next up is an overdue reunion with a familiar face. After his outstanding contribution to Cocoon Compilation S and his first solo EP on Cocoon Recordings, Raxon is back with a more than equally fascinating sound. The Egyptian-born and now Barcelona-based artist is back on it again, delivering two tracks that will take you on a journey through the depths of robotic soundscapes.
Intricate beats, hypnotic synthesizer melodies, deep bassline grooves, and distinctive EFX sounds create Raxon’s very special signature sound.
Straight drum programming paired with chirping percussions takes us away to embark on a travel through space and time while distinctive claps poke through a futuristic nebula of floating and shifting sequences. The twisted melody of “Robotalia” carries us to a parallel dimension of machine sound and if you listen closely, you can hear the robots’ screwing and sawing. Warping bleeps and mechanical effects complete the robotic feeling. Raxon’s understanding of structures and architectural abilities are reflected through the arrangement, slowly increasing to ecstasy.
“Kryptonite” scores with alien soundscapes. Stuttering vocals are the questions, while futuristic and dramatic chord stabs are the direct answer. A straight, radiant sound appears as an electronic trombone from outer space, offensively supporting the driving bassline. The symbiotic interplay between the euphoric synthesizer hook line and the relentless beat with pushing sharp hi-hats visualize powerful images in one's mind's eye. Suddenly the beat stagnates and results in a morphing break going head over heels developing a start-stop pitch effect that not only builds up tremendous tension but also bears an increased risk of melting your brain. We just love tape delay!

DJ Koze - Pick Up (12" Extended Disco Version)
2
DJ Koze - The Love Truck
2023 repress
Tracklist
A. Pick Up (12" Extended Disco Version)
B. The Love Truck
DJ Koze might be one of the world's best producers, but above all he's a DJ, and it's his DJ ear that governs. Just as in a great set, so with his releases: "Seeing Aliens" came out of nowhere, a big buzzing beast of a track, to announce that Koze was back on the scene and prime everyone for the coming album, knock knock. But now that Koze has your attention, it's time to remind everyone what's most important about club music, pull things back, take a turn to the left, and get deep into the groove.
Thus "Pick Up": the second single from knock knock is 100% pure groove, doubly so in the extended 12" version. In a sense it's incredibly familiar - it is essentially a filter disco record, very close to something you could imagine coming out of Paris around the turn of the millennium. But of course, this is Koze. Nothing is normal or familiar in his world, and he's taken this most foundational of clubland staples into new territory. Flipping samples of Gladys Knight & the Pips "Neither One Of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)" and Melba Moore's "Pick Me Up, I'll Dance", it creates something completely airborne, shot through with emotions such as gods must feel: not quite explicable to the human mind but strong enough to knock you off your feet. In its way it's absolutely as powerful as "Seeing Aliens", but it comes in like the proverbial iron fist in a glove of velvet.
The flip, a ten-minute new track, "The Love Truck" is a big contrast again. If "Pick Up" is giddy flight, "The Love Truck" is woozy floating. Its sharp, clicking percussion recalls 2000s minimal techno, but this time absolutely nothing is generic. The long, intense, on-and-off bass tones, the flickers of birdsong, the pure voices slipping in backwards as if from the future... it's all like the most blissful dream, and culminates in a coda so subtle yet so beautiful it's like ever time you've ever seen the sun rise and thought "I never want this to end", all the while understanding deep down that the fleeting nature of the pleasure is also what give it its power. But of course, being created with that consummate DJ's ear, it's also full of the thrill of wondering what Koze has in store next.

Special remarks: 12" with exclusive full colour artwork printed on sleeve, limited to 300 copies
Tracklist:
A1. Psycho Hub (Original Mix)
B1. Shroud (Original Mix)
B2. Get in the Fridge (Original Mix)
Short info:
Kevin Arnemann and Daan Kemp's Taped Artifact label clocks up its fourth release with a three track offering from Outlaw Rec boss and key part of the Italian Serendipity club, namely Matthew Oh. Matthew has previously released on his own label and others like Side Off, and eloquently marries dub, techno and house into smooth and sensuous sonic landscapes.
The opening track 'Psycho Hub' is an atmospheric and spacious roller with dubbed out drums and pads, coupled with incendiary hi hats urging you along. 'Shroud' is seven minutes of slick and spaced out deep techno with liquid synths and clacking hits all racing along and making for a frictionless groove that sucks you right in. Finally, 'Get in the Fridge' slows the tempo down and becomes an even more widescreen and roomy roller with suspensory pads, smeared synths and aqueous sonic details that make you feel like you are floating in sound.

Dustin Zahn - Golden Hour
Dustin Zahn drops ‘Feed The Fire EP’ on Radio Slave’s Rekids ahead of full LP in November. Active since the early 000’s, Dustin Zahn’s hypnotic and driving techno has consistently caught the ears of top DJs and labels, with releases and remixes on Chris Liebing’s CLR, James Ruskin’s Blueprint, and of course Radio Slave’s Rekids. Alongside his productions, Zahn runs the Enemy Records imprint, having released music from Regal, Truncate, and DVS1 alongside his own music since 2004. For his latest offering on Rekids, which arrives ahead of his first full-length album since 2014, Zahn leads the charge with four direct and expertly constructed techno cuts. Title track ‘Feed The Fire’ makes use of a snaking synth line, evolving in tandem with the sound of classic drum machines atop a pounding 4/4 pattern, while ‘Heresy’ leans towards the twilight hours, with tripped out bleeps, chugging percussion, and deep chords. On the flip, ‘Profane Purposes’ sees bubbling synthesis alongside raucous claps and vocal cuts, making for a high octane techno bomb before ‘Golden Hour’ closes out the release, lowering the energy levels as twinkling keys, blissful pads, and dusty hats craft a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Founded in 1988, the Nu Groove catalogue is a true reflection of New York’s house sound. Started by Frank and Karen Mendez as an outlet for some of Rheji and Ronald Burrell’s more experimental musical ventures, the label would go on to help launch the careers of a number of local talents including Joey Beltram and Kenny Dope, but the Burrell brothers were by far the most prolific. Over thirty years later, Luke Solomon has re-assembled the catalogue and the spirit of this legendary New York label, with this 2 x 12” package celebrating some essentials from its catalogue. The second volume features cuts from Bäs Noir, Emjay, Tech Trax Inc and Metro, this collection of late 80’s and early 90’s gems is a record box essential and blissful re-introduction to the Nu Groove sound.

With his congenial version of this evergreens, this deranged pig forces his cranky perception on us and takes us into a mystical world in which no two stones are alike, but whose unique construction represents an earthquake-proof pyramid of love whose dimensions have perfect relationships to the size of the earth and to mathematical laws. Illumination feat Roísín Murphy as Mano Le Toughs needs A Birra Light Remix persistently pulls us music-loving dance muffins under the disco ball with all the TikiTaka tricks in the book, only to let us go and spin gloriously free at the crucial moment. SHORT INFO:
There are still some pearls of dance music from the late 80's to early 90's that have remained in obscurity and have gone unnoticed or at least there has been no special attention, so Jose Manuel has dug deep as he already did in the first chapter of the compilation " Milagros del Ritmo ".
Among the annals of releases between '89 and '93 Jose has found pearls that he wanted to encapsulate in the second chapter of " Milagros Del Ritmo II " . Nine tracks among which we find : Come To Me (Ven Aqui) by La Luna produced by Erik Kupper, where percussion and Latin influences dominate over a house beat, then there is Teknology by Dj Raffa, a well known Brazilian Dj, followed by Lorena with Tu Eres Igual Que Los Demás (De Luxe Dub), where the beat vaguely recalls Los Niños Del Parque by Liaisons Dangereuses.
This second volume of "Milagros Del Rirmo II " cannot be missed by DJs who love and play the retro sound.

TRACK LIST
A1 - Impérieux – Fantasmagorii
B1 - Impérieux – Ferishtah
B2 - Impérieux – Reze
PR EN:
The illusive Impérieux ventures into the fantastical world of DJ Koze’s Pampa with three tracks of masterful, genre-bending electronica.
It’s little wonder that the Turkish/Bulgarian native finds himself coming into the orbit of the Hamburg-based label head. DJ Koze has been a long-time supporter of Impérieux’s music, his intrepid DJ sets often finding their most dramatic peaks or existential lows with one of the producer's audacious dancefloor soundscapes.
Now Berlin-based, Impérieux’s music draws deeply on the sounds of his heritage, taking inspirations from Bulgarian folklore, twisted and chopped Turkish dialect as well the gritty underground of his new surroundings.
With Fantasmagorii, Impérieux explores his sonic boundaries with techniques inspired by the label-head himself. As a producer he is becoming known for his ability to build fantasy worlds through aural experimentation, creating productions soaked with fragility and emotion. His music brings a full-body listening experience of it’s own, laden with intensity and mystery, and full of opposites. He has the ability to pluck their listeners out of reality, to bend the rules of time and space and defy genres in a way that is reminiscent of Koze’s various bodies of work, and it’s no surprise that this selection of tracks feels right at home in the Pampa fantasy.
"I am permanently seeking for Music that blows my mind. It’s like digging for gold. Impérieux delivers a psychedelic bullion" (DJ Koze)
