Xosar established herself with an infectious live show, on display at regular appearances throughout the world, and with releases on labels like Rush Hour, Creme Organization and L.I.E.S. Xosar's new release for Valcrond Video marks the onset of a darker, more dungeons & dragons oriented point of view. The four tracks feature both propulsive, doom-laden beats and expansive drum-free dream spaces. These sounds, appropriate for perved-out DJs and depressed teens alike, trace a narrative of pursuit, captivity, and erotic exsanguination. Held in a stone tower, a prisoner's fluids are harvested for carnal application, before he is finally allowed to drain and find release in euphoric fields: bare dead trees, empty veins.

With the inaugural release "Show Yourself", Xosar introduces her new label Gyrocyre. When people on our planet hold built up psychic tensions under the skin, the energy gestates in a womb-like growth until it's ready to burst through the flesh manifest as a creature called a Gyrocyre. Many people opt out of ever letting the beast emerge, happy to function at levels they can predict without having to face the challenge brought on by the Gyrocyre. It grows heavy and bloated with untapped potential. Those who embrace the change slice through the flesh and let it out. It fuses with the host, covering his or her skin like a mask. Depending on the nature of their heart, it gives them tools to save or destroy the world. We invite you to embrace the change and let your Gyrocyre out.

The Dutch Pinkman label is back with a new EP from Xosar, who debuts on the label and covers release number 10. Xosar is the Berlin based, American born producer who has excelled on LIES and Rush Hour with a unique, experimental sound that draws heavily on the hardware she uses as well as a live, freeform approach to arrangement. Here she comes correct once more with two new cuts of mystic techno. ‘World Of Illusion’ goes first and marries reverb rich claps and cacophonous hi hats with a tough bassline. Spritely and nimble and with thumping kicks down below, various bleeps, serene string sounds and glassy melodies colour the groove and make for engaging listening. On the flip, ‘Phasers of Eden’ is a kinetic fusion of ticking percussion, molten synths and withering chords that works you into an ethereal and otherworldly trance. Still with some all important drum funk powering things along down below, this is another idiosyncratic winner from Xosar.

Ensemble is dedicated to togetherness and deep, timeless house music, initiated by 22tracks.com Brussels house selectors Gratts and Kong. First release by none less then Xosar plus a remix by Xan Xosa aka.. Check! The EP kicks off with X(osar) Files. Like its title suggests, it's an anthemic journey through retro-future spacescapes, combining a smoldering bassline with eerie synths that drift in and out and a cryptic vocal layered with sensuality so thick it would make Mulder and Scully blush. The theme tune to the best sci-fi flick never made. Taking on a one-time moniker that has him sounding like an original series Star Trek villain, San Soda – or rather, Xan Xoda – turns in a mature reinterpretation of dreamy off-cut Gone Is Yesterday, turning it into a tightly honed Panorama Bar jam, centered firmly around its simple but ultra-effective bassline. B1 track Paranormal Detective picks up where X(osar) Files left off, with more ultra-cinematic pads and undulations coming together to create a slow-burning groover that balances maximalist flourishes with an entirely more delicate undercurrent. Rounding off the release, Lycropolis is pure interstellar funk, chugging along with an infectious analogue groove and carnival-esque, swinging percussion, as if the cast of the Mos Eisley Cantina had decided to trade jazz for techno and try their hand at an underground rave.

Florian Kupfer and Luke Wyatt (Torn Hawk) met through the Ron Morelli Long Island matchmaking service that has done such a global favor by producing relationships and collaborations between previously isolated weirdos all around the world. As solo artists they have produced work for some of the most adventurous labels around, including LIES , Technicolour, and Rush Hour's No 'Label' imprint. Now they join forces for this haunting and darkly hilarious trip. Candy-mongering ghosts of Halloweens past drag chains down dim hallways, punctuating the gloom with the clank of metal on wet concrete. Who's that knocking on your door? Just a couple of 16 year-old boys wearing face paint with fake blood coming out of their mouths...hungry for candy.

Delivery debuted in 2014 on Delroy Edwards' L.A. Club Resource label with ""Drama"", a beast of a 12"". Now he brings his Los Angeles hardware warfare to Valcrond Video with three tracks of elegantly balanced machine music. The entire A side is filled by the 12 minute sprawl of ""Brain Drained"", a journey down a dark greasy corridor. Towards the middle of the tunnel a dwarf stands casually, arms akimbo, as a 6 foot blonde bangs her head against the wall. The dwarf gives you a lethal look and silently mouths the words Keep on moving buddy, so you shuffle along, terrified, towards what might be the end of the tunnel, but sure smells like a funeral pyre. B1(Technology Transplant) lets you lick a deceptively sweet lollipopi when babies are scared, it's good to let them suck on something. B2 (four-two-nine) comes at you raw and direct with ten minutes of brawny pulse. You bite right through the lollipop. That same dwarf is backi he hands you a jersey (number 23) and some shoulder pads. Don't you remember you joined the football team?

"Valcrond Video presents the next work by sound and image artist Luke Wyatt, ""Songs From Bad Kid School"". On a high desert plain, inside a cinder block compound, a prank squad is incarcerated. Between fiddling with ninja stars and leafing through back issues of Fangoria, they find time to scrape out the soundtrack of their escape. On the first track, heatsick guitars and steel wool beats suggest a landscape strewn with abandoned car carcasses, old Camaros left for dead in the sun, used for shotgun practice. The B-side leads off with the beat-less, articulated sprawl of ""Saline Flats"". Here is the story of a desert search for water: figures warping mirage-like on the horizon as they make a confused journey over dunes, ending with a cathartic drone that suggests the mirages resolving into a real oasis. Though it is just as likely that the bad kids have expired from thirst, and ascended to the sublime."

Valcrond Video, the label of Brooklyn-based visual artist and producer Luke Wyatt presents it's very first vinyl issue in the shape of two new tracks from Torn Hawk, one of Wyatt's aliases. First coming to the fore in a musical sense with a set of distressed guitar and asphalt beat attacks on the LIES White Label series, Torn Hawk has been closely associated with Ron Morelli's label ever since with Wyatt subsequently working with Karen Gwyer, Secret Circuit and Willie Burns. Distancing himself a bit from the grime and grit some associate with his productions, the two new tracks have more in common with the more expansively voiced compositions on Emotional Response release Teen Hawk, or the cinematic melancholy of the untitled EP he released under the alias Lossmaker. Clearly Wyatt is building towards housing all his musical instincts under one roof.
