Moscoman - Nishar Levad
A master of his craft, Moscoman seamlessly mixes the old with the new in Can You Dig It as the classic Monkees track from their 1968 album Head is woven throughout - sampling at its best. "By infusing the Laurel Canyon vibes of The Monkees' 'Can You Dig It' into my new single, I wanted to pay homage to a timeless era and also to bring a fresh twist to it and make sure to get everyone diggin' it." Moscoman When talking about Rob The Plants, Moscoman comments on how the EP “is a sonic journey through some charted, and also uncharted territories. By going to the edge of the sound ranges of my production I think I managed to find my centre." Opening the EP is Bouabre with an all encompassing and hypnotic bassline beaconing the listener to the dancefloor, whilst melding together a glitchy vocal in true Moscoman style. Title track Rob The Plants hones in on Moscoman’s ability to fuse together a range of techniques, culminating in a dance floor ready heavy hitter. An addictive and driving bassline plays on throughout, whilst a catchy vocal and warm guitar licks are intertwined. Gradually increasing in intensity and closing the EP Nishar Levad is an emotionally charged offering ladened with atmospheric synths, haunting guitar chords and an inviting groove.

Moscoman - Reinvention ft. Zoot Woman (Alan Dixon Remix)
Israeli artist Moscoman returns to Damian Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels imprint with Adventura, featuring a collaboration with alternative and electroclash band Zoot Woman and a remix from Love Attack label bass Alan Dixon. Transmitting twinkling house to emotive indie dance, each artist leaves a stellar stamp on Moscoman's sinuous release. As summer draws to a close, Moscoman looks forward to the next chapter in his trajectory, undeterred by the change of seasons. The title track opens with a muscular kickdrum and organic percussion before an enchanting melody glide between the beats, igniting a dreamy, tripped-out feel. It's made for an open-minded dancefloor. Moscoman collaborates with Zoot Woman on Reinvention feat. Zoot Woman, blending the airy vocals of Johnny Blake with a shimmering synthline. One for the indie heads. Alan Dixon's remix follows suit with a cosmic disco offering, reworking the stems with verve and serving a slice of strut energy. Moscoman is a producer, DJ and label boss. He heads up the imprint Disco Halal, showcasing the sounds of house, nu-disco and post-punk supplied by artists from all walks of life. With an ear to merge traditional tones from different dance music cultures worldwide, Moscoman garners an explorative approach to Disco Halal. So far, the label's discography boasts tunes by Simple Symmetry, Red Axes, Trikk and Auntie Flo. His DJ sets slink into long, storytelling sessions of low-slung grooves and post-punk flavoured beats, as heard in Space Miami, Panorama Bar, Glastonbury and Pacha Ibiza, amongst other iconic spots. British act Zoot Woman consists of seminal producers Adam Blake, Johnny Blake and Stuart Price. Since the mid-90s, the group have produced and performed electronica, alternative, electroclash, rock and synthpop. Acclaimed for their scintillating live shows, the group remains one of the most remarkable bands from the UK. London-based Alan Dixon is a producer and DJ celebrated for his disco edits. Labels like Watergate, Life and Death, Keinemusik and Pets Recordings have released his tunes alongside his own imprint, Love Attack.

Moscoman - Space Comfort
This is a brilliantly and effortlessly wide-ranging EP that once again shows why Moscoman is one of the day's most fascinating artists.
A1. Wave Rave
A2. Dinner For One
B1. 550
B2. Space Comfort
DJ Tennis's Life And Death welcomes electronic innovator Moscoman for a label debut that superbly showcases his broad array of club-ready but widescreen sounds.
Moscoman is based in Berlin but brings plenty of worldly influences to his music, not least from his homeland of Israel. Next to musical explorations on his own Disco Halal label, he has served up everything from raw and rugged machine disco to melodic techno via wonky house on ESP Institute, Diynamic and I'm A Cliché. He is someone who embraces whatever takes his fancy and has a wilfully random approach to making music that results in never less than thrilling and original tracks.
That is the case again here: right from the off 'Wave Rave' is an unusual but effective offering that pairs hands-in-the-air, trance-inducing chords with more reflective melodies and rugged drums. After that one packs a truly emotional punch, 'Dinner For One' is downright dirty. Wild, detuned synths spray about over 'Spastilk'-era snares and rolling drums and the whole thing works you into a lather.
On the flip the mood changes again. This time, '550' is a dreamy and zoned out house track with a gorgeous and acoustic lead melody that encourages your mind to wander as you drift along in the warming groove. Last of all, 'Space Comfort' is playful number with sci-fi keys bleeping up and down the scale while harmonic keys and withering retro synth chords bring a sense of spookiness to the fore.

Events take a somber turn as Moscoman’s Treisar project edges closer to its natural conclusion with Nemesh. The ninth chapter in the Treisar series opens up with The Lady Of The Light, a mechanical ride through the later stages of madness, all in automated bleeps and sinister laments.
Pain Collection sees Moscoman channel his post punk sensibilities through anguished guitars, while Walls Of Jericho gives Nemesh its final master stroke with a middle eastern dancefloor war song. More

A flip of the record and Step Into A Word confidently marches on through a sparse landscape of descending arpeggios, heart-wrenching keys and spectral steel drums. Closing off the record, Overview Effect is an italo beholden stomper and the definite soundtrack to cosmic melancholia.

With his newest EP Goa Tee, Moscoman finds himself seven releases deep into his 12 part Treisar series. Living up to its name, the seventh piece of the puzzle is the trippiest of the series yet, kicking off with Some Of My Fears, a piece if outer space hypnosis carried by a rolling percussion and bass combo that will keep firmly stomping across dancefloors. Reflecting the mood set on the A side, Moments In Space sees Moscoman channel his Italo flair while reaching out for a rave indebted sonic palette. Final track Chinchilla closes on delirious sounds and 8 bit melodies rubbing shoulders with a lovingly syncopated beat. A weapon all exotically inclined DJs will be reaching out for a their next jungle party.

We’re now halfway through the Treisar series and Moscoman shows no sign of slowing down. Next up is Donkey Jumps Ahead. The sixth chapter kicks off with Big Jack Arbon, an unambiguous summer anthem tied up by digital steel drums and pitched chants. On the flip, Things Forgot To Be This Way calls for the never-ending daze of the afterhours with Disco infused melodies and distant vocals floating atop doped down beats. Closing track Unheard Melody sets a different pace. Wistful Mediterranean guitars pick unhurried melodies while delays cloud the track in just the right amount of sleaze.

The fifth EP in the Treisar series sees Moscoman deliver a new piece of dancefloor dazzle with the 'Royal Amphibian International' EP. 'Just across the Nile' kicks off down in the sluggish ends of the club. Flamboyant claps and hypnotizing accordion stabs hint at brighter climates but the darkness of the bass threatens from beneath. 'Express Way' explores broken beats before resolving into a 4x4 drive stocked with balearic flair and ominous vocal chops, while its dub counterpart brings the EP to a melodic close with an unhurried, glistening rework.

“He who dares to rouse the Lion of Judah will be haunted by the eternal babbles of Dalmar” -Chronicles of Arbon 28-29. Hot on the heels of his ESP Institute debut album A Shot In The Light, Moscoman delivers the off-the-wall Judah’s Lion EP. The main track, Dalmar Arbon, is an infectious psychedelic funk UFO sending you in a maddening maze of swirling percussions and haunting abstract vocals. Dalmar Arbon In The Club takes the madness up a notch with a four to the floor version infused with acid sounding synths. The EP closes on A Saint And A Sinner, an uplifting dreamy groover that propels anyone listening to cloud nine. Judah’s Lion is the first installment of Moscoman’s Treisar imprint, a limited 12 parts venture to unfold throughout 2017.

Independent labels have always been risky ventures, marred by uncertainty; you never know how long they'll last for. Yet, for more than 15 years, Cosmo Vitelli has kept I'm a Cliché going. During this time, his label, its releases, and the artists behind them have found their place in the musical landscape, standing proudly and defiantly in the margins, a place where music is always more interesting and fluid than right in the middle of the spotlight. After countless EPs, several albums and a compilation, a new chapter in I’m a Cliché’s story begins, one with a greatly reduced release schedule. To mark this turning point, the label releases Bongo Beats & Bankruptcy, its second compilation ever. Aesthetically coherent and simultaneously diverse in its expressions, Bongo Beats & Bankruptcy is a celebration of the label (and the label manager’s) quirks and eccentricities and a tongue-in-cheek snapshot that brilliantly captures the label’s DNA, featuring friends and allies along with newer faces on 13 exclusive tracks scattered over 3 LPs. Whether they are downtempo, uptempo or ambient like Orestt's contribution, each tune on this compilation distills in its own idiosyncratic way I’m a Cliché’s essence: electronic music influenced by club culture but in no way constrained to the dancefloor. Ivan Smagghe & Marc Collin’s analog synth track by their acclaimed Volga Select project, June’s dreamy tune at the crossroads between wave and kraut influences, Coy’s mutant synth arpeggios, and an old-school wave cut by Oliver Decrow mixed by Dunkeltier are all tracks boldly standing on the dancefloor's margins. For those looking for club-ready tracks that with I’m a Cliché’s one-of-a-kind atmosphere will surely find what they are after in an downtempo edit of Awkward Corners, a bouncy and melodic IDM not IDM number by Rouge Mécanique, a bleeps & pan-pipes affair by Benoît B, an esoteric dance-rock number with stated Lynch influences by Fantastic Twins, a freaky electro cut by Linja, a melancholic 707 driven banger by Krikor and finally an anxious and forward-thinking half-stepper by label head Cosmo Vitelli.

cosmo vitelli - El Si Sen~or (Soundtrack Version)
A1: When Suddenly : Acid, With Cosmo Vitelli’s trademark style being eclectism, it’s pointless to pin down this track to a specific genre. Borrowing from the kind of disco not disco and acid-without-303 vibes that I’m a Cliché is famous for, this is an instantly gratifying tune where synthesizers are engaged in call and response melodies in an elegant take on the idea of machine funk. The result is catchy, refreshing and primed for the dancefloor. A2: El Si Señor (Skinny version) If you think this track is just a tool, then you’re only getting half of the picture. Skinny but chock-full of melodic and percussive content with a plodding rhythmic section moving at around 105 BPM. This is a downtempo track where heartfelt melodies, sound effects, and pristine seamless arrangements are used with great results by Cosmo Vitelli. B1:The Cemetery of Unsigned House Tracks
Clocking at 9 minutes, don’t get fooled by the track’s tongue-in-cheek title, we’re dealing here with a seriously epic tune. Set in an endlessly rising motion, the track begins with a refined but twisted vibe, sparse but ominous guitars and plenty of FX. Gradually, an infectious synth arpeggio rises and carries with it the whole track, some sort of hypnotic and sensual monster, utterly irresistible on the dancefloor. B2: El Si Señor (Soundtrack Version) With melodies that are more expansive and at the fore, leaving the rhythmic section discernible but clearly in the background, this version of El Si Senor is a reference to 70s film music, and this bittersweet tune closes the EP in style. two years after the release of his acclaimed debut EP on I'm a Cliché, Jakarta's best kept secret is back on Cosmo Vitelli's imprint with four terrific original tracks. Jonathan Kusuma is a producer who has managed in the space of a few releases and remixes to develop a signature sound which mostly relies on taking disco and EBM elements and putting them in new and unexpected contexts, offering us a glimpse of what modern dance music would sound like if house and techno had never existed. Narcotic, hedonistic, abstract and particularly efficient on the dancefloor, Kusuma's music is always about quality and never about quantity and so we are particularly thrilled to share with the world the four new tracks that constitute this EP.

I'm a Cliché is proud to present a self-titled mini-LP by Stiletti-Ana aka Ilari Larjosto, the legend of Helsinki's underground. What are the man's credentials, you ask? Well, Larjosto is a drummer, producer, session musician for multiple bands and a mixing, mastering and recording engineer for countless projects. He's dedicated his whole life to music making and sound engineering in its all forms. Truly an omnipresent figure in the Helsinki underground, he's got his finger on pretty much every button in the world of Scandinavian electronic music while he sits in the control room of his dungeon studio on a fortified island off the Finnish capital's coast. The man's involved in many popular projects such as K-X-P, Tähtiportti, DJ Candle in The Wind, Jimi Tenor, Randy Barracuda, and acclaimed band JESSE.
