Photonz is the artist name of Marco Rodrigues, a London-based DJ and producer who's been championing the new sound of Portuguese house and techno worldwide since the early 2000s. He has done tracks for various labels such as crème organization, unknown to the unknown, hot haus, the "cult" dissident and many more. His first cut "memories of burma" that gave the title to the ep is an infinite groove that builds and builds with arabic synths, a perfect crossover between balearic & old school jackin house. "Baronrevxp" & "agape" moves into the same territories with some sharp clap, hi hats and some big retro vintage sounds. While "stealth predator" catches him at his most experimental, upping the tempo and unleashing an ambitious techno juke roller, think about drexcya, 1990s techno, Plink Plonk and you're not even close ! Cosmic Club 16 in the house, and for this one Skylax have delved deep into the mystic Cosmic Club 16 in the house, and for this one Skylax have delved deep into the mystic universe of the ever enigmatic Violence FM with a four track EP quite simply out of this dimension… Etoiles EP is an inconceivable work of art from Violence FM that will leave listeners stargazing for more, not to mention an extraterrestrial remix of Chez Damier's 'El Fin Esta Cerca' on the flip.Title track Etoile does the damage on the A Side, with a vocal (A1) & instrumental (A2). Lofty kick drums and enchanting synths bring this classic track right up to date, with the heavenly vocal harmonised seamlessly on top for a truly otherworldly experience - this is a must for anyone looking to get celestial with their DJ sets. Hailing from Berlin, but spiritually from Chi-town, Snuff Crew are back in your area with some freshly served up basement goodies once again. Following on from Basement Jams #1, from all the way back in 2011, the boys bring us tracks with the same playful nature as before but, dare I say it, they go even harder this time. Stalwart fans of the first release can stop reading now because it will almost certainly be a blind-buy for you; four tracks obviously engineered for use in the club, whether its the massive kick in ‘What It Is’ or the ravey acid lead in ‘88cents’. The jams on the B-side may do the most damage. ‘Remember’ holds absolutely nothing back, with its arpeggiated bassline lead and crisper than crisp 909 drum programming. Analog is a term that gets bandied about all the time nowadays, ever since so many young producers became enamoured with tape compression and hiss delay plug-ins. I know Snuff Crew are real analog guys though, in sound and mentality, so hearing Basement Jams #2 for the first time had me so excited once again. More

Massimiliano P. has been responsible of delivering some of the best electronic tracks in those recent years on great labels such as Balihu, Rush Hour, Live at robert Johnson & Needwant. Heavily inspired by Roland 909 chicago mythic drum machine, those guys deliver here 3 anthems, very close in spirit to Tensnake & Lee Foss best work.. Their sound is firmly rooted in proto-house and 80’s R&B. With ingredients like ancient drum machines, arpeggiated melodies, and 80’s pads, their connection boils over with a certain cheekiness that makes listeners grin from ear to ear. Those 3 tracks have lots of groove and solid bouncy Disco House beats and that piano (mmmhhh !!!). Vocals aren't the main event here but they do add another level showing some true Disco production skills.
