antonio de angelis - Incrisis (Sleeparchive Remix)
Just over a year since the inception of Weekend Circuit, we've been embracing the fact of already inviting some of Techno's most established artists alongside new talent from all over the world leading up to the 6th release on the label. Dax J, HUBOT, Coldgeist & Rommek have led the line, also welcoming the likes of Jonas Kopp, Developer & Adriana Lopez to the label providing stand out remixes. Next up we have the first release in a new limited edition series of hand stamped vinyl and we've secured a solo 3 track EP from London based Antonio De Angelis including a trademark mix by Tresor & Berlin resident Roger Semsroth aka Sleeparchive.

Sales Note
Antonio De Angelis returns to KEY with 'Knocking'; a classy, elegant and powerful 4 tracker which showcases the unmistakable expertise of the producer in matters of sound design. All of this material is imbued with utmost austerity, tapping into a vein of primal, purist techno.
A1 'Emergency' is charming and magnificently vacouos. The minimalistic composition and subtle variation enhances its skeletal structure, where each element is positioned to perfectly match the other. Dim drones meet with a heavy bass epitomizing the hypnotic power of minimalism through repetition. Going further, 'Red Snow' dives deeper into textural lusciousness with scattered bleeps and sci-fi atmospheres. This one is real good. On the B side energy intensifies with 'Kerogen', a dark, big room pumper filled with layers and asurpsiging final progression into a dreamy, dubbed string sequence. And finally, the gorgeous 'Total Recall' concludes ourride with an even dreamier color. While the low ends suck you ina locked grove, the pads absorb your mind into a luminescent realm of abstraction. Eyes closed, smiling, getting lost into imagination. TIP!
All pieces within the EP have a clear clarity of means in common where nothing is overdosed: airiness and concentration on the effect of the sounds used is the focus from start to finish. Balanced, restrained, somber. Yes, KEY is back to serving top-notch techno elegance.

Sales Note
Timeless techno from a timeless artist. Italian veteran Antonio De Angelis steps up on KEY Vinyl serving quality material through an EP built out of classic cuts - never disappointing our thirst for excellence.
De Angelis opens the records with a full burst of energy. A1 is proper loopy peak time material, constituted by a rhythmic crescendo of elements and a blend of trimmed funky vocals. This one will make you smile. With 'Black Lights' the energy shifts to a more eccentric, dark place. A2 focuses all around on the creation of an atmosphere- a moment charged with intensity and hypnotism. The chubby lows and the absence of bold high sleave plenty of space for incredibly overlapped bleepy layers and textures.
For the flip side, 'Delta 1' proposes a continuation of the bleepy direction of its former. A sinister, aggressive temper but with a softened, almost melancholic essence. Its pulsating kick drumsare tempting, paired with more dramatic analogue synth effectsand old-school aura- let's call it modern space-age drama. B2 then concludes the sonic journey with a positive charm, almost acting as the light at the end of the tunnel. Funky arps allow space for a slow build up and a more loose energy, giving a well-deserved breather from previous intensity. Indeed, 'Halob' closes the driving, intense EP with a bit of sunny sunshine which in the midst of darkness, we all crave.

Weekend Circuits 22nd release sees the return of Ground-Fault-Interrupt, a compilation series launched in 2015 which has welcomed a host of artists including Sleeparchive, Stanislav Tolkachev, Dax J and Par Grindvik. Volume 3 brings a dynamic and present-day representation of hard hitting and trance-inducing newfangled music. Heavy on the hypnotics, Kwartz brings a sidewinding sonic escape of machines to run parallel with a rolling energy of percussion. A gritty take on modern techno production, sees an opiate energy lift dance floors into upper echelons. Tense and unnerving, 'Universe Forms' shimmers and collides immersive patterns and reverberating deep horns to create an ever building and reforming enterprise of endurance soundscapes. Twisting and turning with off kiltered consideration, Rommek brings about a scrutiny of frequencies. Demonic and impulsive, this fiendish track screams hellish frenzy throughout. Rooted in the darker depths of electronic music, Positive Centre pushes an already ominous 4 track EP into the even more unearthly. Minimal and occult, the rolling subtleties bury themselves and flood the senses. An engrossing deluge of swamp-like audio can be felt across ‘Mesquinhata’.

michael wells - Three Fates (SHXCXCHCXSH Remix)
Comprised of energetic expression and hell bent on immersion, In Half Light is an introspective soundscape of vibrant and effectual techno, characterised by its cohesive energies and earthy essence. With deep chords riding throughout, it descends you into a land time forgot and music never knew. Lucy brings a signature of sound conveyed through an energetic palette of space and assertion. Intense and intimate rolling percussion carries the body of his remix through a slow and tripped-out synthetic body of keys. The B side introduces Three Fates, a gripping recital of blurring synths and coiled-spring tension. The many colours of sound engulf the listener, gradually building to a stirring triumph of well paced electronic music. Conceived for the dance floor, SHXCXCHCXSH brings a militantly autonomous track of self assured, brawling techno power. A grinding hook lays centre fold to this release, leaving in its wake a restless energy from the dark end of the street. A no-holds-barred memoir of techno, it fits to be played at the most twisted and disorientating part of any night.

yyyy - Of Thrones And Comfort
As Weekend Circuit approach their 20th release, Argentinian duo YYYY return for their second full length EP on the label to celebrate this benchmark. The YYYY modus operandi is already familiar to the initiated - expressive, raw techno experimentalism from the outer reaches. 'Carry This Blood' is a collection of 4 moods and sounds, carved out with emotion soaked ambience, synapse flaring distortion and machine fracturing rhythms. 'Repent', as the title suggests, takes no prisoners, leaving no survivors in it's wake, it is a glimpse into a tear in the time-space continuum where chaos rules. 'Hands Towards The Giver' is epic, glacial, spacial widescreen techno. Dramatic and urgent, the soundtrack to a doomed planet collapsing from within 'Carry This Blood' bestows an eerie, cold feeling. An atmosphere of regret and loss hangs over it like a thick fog on a hillside, punctuated only by a heartbeat mimicking kick drum offering a human touch. 'Of Thrones And Comfort' snaps us out of the haze, the fog clears and we are faced with the frenzied electronics and thundering kick drum of this most sinister of tracks.

P.E.A.R.L. is no stranger to the Weekend Circuit inner circle. Having released his ‘Desolation’ EP on the London label in 2015, his unique and refreshing productions slot comfortably in to the label's sonic aesthetic. Pulsating, submerged field recordings and natural sounds bristle next to menacingly hewn tones, rhythms and textures, creating a strange and disorientating environment across 4 parts. EP opener 'Body Arched I' encapsulates this alien-esque landscape, beckoning us into the P.E.A.R.L. sound-world. Slowly unwinding drones gradually draw us in, layers of almost synthetic jungle sounds, field recordings and eerie atmospherics create images of unseen landscapes in our minds. One gets the impression that is merely the calm before the storm, it will be a long, dark and revealing night. Second part 'Body Arched II' ups the ante considerably, a blistering assault on the senses. Cavernous kick-drums dance with repeated synth lines and synewaves creating a narcotic, unforgiving and swirling miasma of epic proportions. 'Body Arched III' opens the second side of this formidable slab of vinyl. The energy levels are still high, the mood somewhat foreboding. Unapologetic, urgent and oozing kinetic energy this 3rd movement continues on a journey that will sweep you deeper into the blackest night, all systems failed, flying blind. In the right hands a piece like this can wield colossal power. The fourth and final part of 'Body Arched' taps into a more psychedelic vein, a minimalistic mantra-esque piece that continually spirals to the very outer edges of restraint. Listen closely and you can hear the shamans feet kicking up dust in the clearing. A pensive and sparse piece and the perfect note on which P.E.A.R.L. will leave us bewildered.

London's Weekend Circuit imprint returns with a 5 track EP from label owner Michael Wells entitled ‘Three Marks of Existence'. The EP marks Michael's debut on the label and is a signifier of his future direction as a producer - meditative, tense, unfolding electronics and monochrome ambient environments inform this release. The deepest of deep space is contained within EP opener 'Antecedent', an almost menacing, enveloping track that engulfs us during it's 5 minutes or so of existence. 'Verge' follows and is driven by speaker puncturing taut, tribal drum programming and swirling satellite sounds, creeping further into the nexus. Subtly heavy indeed. ‘Three Marks of Existence' mines an altogether different vein, an epic, widescreen vision of downtempo electro that is damaged, on the fritz, but containing enough melodic beauty to retain hope. Souls in the machines. Weekend Circuit acolytes YYYY return to the scene of the crime with a monolithic remix of 'Verge' that opens the second side of this EP, showcasing their unique style and interpretation of the original mix, and following on from their previous split EP with Stanislav Tolkachev and their own EP ‘Intention Of Mortal’. ‘Ilmatar' leaves us out and leads you into the cold night, the final transmission from the ‘Three Marks of Existence' signal. Fierce drums punctuate the night sky and barren landscapes while somewhere deep inside, memories are remembered. Equal parts thought provoking and anxious, the perfect end point for what will undoubtedly be a formative benchmark in the Weekend Circuit canon.

alfredo mazzilli - Parhelion
Italian producer Alfredo Mazzilli presents us with Logical Strength, his second EP on Weekend Circuit. Across 4 tracks he expresses his own unique take on the deepest strains of Techno and it's outer reaches. EP opener 'Logical Strength' is a throbbing piece of driving, menacing wormhole music with heavy arpeggiated sounds and rock solid, incessant drum-programming, leaving nothing standing in it's wake it is a firm statement of intent. 'Nuvole' see's the pace change slightly, adopting more of an eerie, borderline hallucinatory feel. The track unfolds beautifully with heavenly pads and synth swells draped across some tribally infused drums.
On side 2 we have a stellar remix of 'Nuvole' from eminent Swedish producer Evigt Mörker who travels a more subdued, sedate path with his interpretation. Finishing off this 4 track excursion we are drawn into the beatless, introspective terrain of 'Parhelion'. A beautifully nuanced and subtle way to close things. Washes of synth and atmosphere embrace us as we travel onwards, deeper into the night. Alfredo Mazzilli shows us once again his own individual and unique style on this EP, another essential chapter in the Weekend Circuit story.

Bringing his hallmarked temperament to the 4/4 format with beguiling results, Weekend Circuit welcome Par Grindvik for his first full length EP on the label. 'Sole Survivor' performs an intense viewpoint of institutional rhythm. Pencil sharp, and strikingly imperfect tones delude the mind and mistreat the senses. A virtuoso of Par’s distinctive sound, is eager and apparent as ever in WCR016. ‘Breath' is rich in melancholic atmosphere, drones and feedback loops; a short yet multifaceted & hypnotic introduction leaving you no time to prepare for the incoming fervour of whats to come. ‘Detached' is a perpetual motion of phenonmenal high energy - percussion avidly spliced together through a digital attention span. A strong, rumbling tower of unsettle that keeps coming back ever more bold and engaging. Like a haunted soundtrack to A Space Odyssey, comes the simmering sound of ‘Hail Fellow Well Met'. Conveying an otherworldliness, this 3 minute stance on electronic music moves with warped energy and glitch. Wry fluidity grabs you by the feels and sustains an ominous tension over on the B side. ’Sever' is a maelstrom of consistent percussion, keeping a nervy uncertainty throughout, while ‘Left Alone' wields an ever evolving siren of searching sound & noise. Grindvik at his best, this cathartic and rich variation of sound fulfills Weekend Circuit’s 16th release.

Blaring and unnerving, YYYY's 'Intention Of Mortal' gets revisited with a remix package featuring Lucy, Varg, Ascion and YYYY themselves, resulting in a barrage of arpeggiated behaviour and regimented soundscapes. A force pushing forward creativity with on-point refinement, Lucy immediately veers in with his visceral power of sound. An avalanche of intricate and experimental arrangement soon meets a series of astute percussion and typical foreboding energy, retaining a certain texture-over-beat throughout. YYYY's depth of music imagination & influence is heard in this highly charged, awestricken ensemble for their rework of 'Intention Of Mortal'. Unfolding a mixture of fear and complication, this track keeps you thinking as well as moving. An almost endless supply of plucked synth rhythm keeps the chaos taut and throughout. Ascion's remix of 'Stone Relief of Gods Faces' credits the release with clean kicks, industrial clanks and atmospheric keys. This no-nonsense approach to production is not to be underestimated; a dream-state sequence of induced electronic abstraction. The first and most immediate observation of B2 is Vargs take on 'Reach For Forgiveness' - a menacing, pin-sharp account of the visceral power of techno, dialling in to both tense and euphoric.
The ambiguity of each track lends itself to its success; meticulous in detail and curated with passion. A release that divulges the mysterious sonic world and deviates from the expected

YYYY have already fortified their position in the Weekend Circuit family with the ominous drones of ‘Locus Of Control’, their split release with Stanislav Tolkachev earlier in the year. Returning with an inscrutable depth of self-explorative techno, the labels 14th release ‘Intention Of Mortal' is a sonic dissonance of combined heavy-going and captivating artistry. 'Stone Relief On God's Face' is the plangent tone YYYY have chosen to begin their narrative. Formed from tribal, religious and industrial undertones, this beat-free immersive environment of sound brings with it a warm introduction. A2 sees ‘Regain' quickly permeate the release to a passage of expansive and clear cut techno while continuing a dark intrigue. The standout bass and rolling kicks make it an undeniably compelling and dance hard track, harnessed by its own evolving soundscapes.
'Intention of Mortal' with its improvised hook, merges 90s space voyager highs, echoed melody and fragmented rhythm in to an ever impending trip to the horizon of happy imminence. Thought provoking and full of stimulant, B1 brings a flood to the senses. Saving the most dizzying until last, 'Reach For Forgiveness' is a harmonic war-machine of disjointed, pulverising electronic music capable moving the unnerved. A cross of lurching percussion makes the steady reps of the kick warped and emotive. Expressive and unapologetic, YYYY have come back with an unneutralised description of what techno means to them.

alfredo mazzilli - No Way Out (Echologist Remix)
After 2 revered releases since the turn of the year, Weekend Circuit return, welcoming Alfredo Mazzilli for his first EP on the imprint. Versatile in sound and challenging in his approach, Alfredo’s ‘Invisible Entity’ EP masterfully pushes ambitious ideas with great vigor to an international audience ever more ready to listen. With artists such as Donato Dozzy, Aphex Twin, Sandwell District, Dino Sabatini and Substance making up a strong part of his most notable influencers, Alfredo favours the ambient & deep depths of the dark side of techno. Enigmatic and unrestricted, Side A starts with Alfredo's original "Invisible Entity". A steadily unfolding juggernaut, the emerging energy soon engulfs the entirety of the track, percussian transcending the gloaming synth sound throughout. Zadig's beckoning bass and kick drum driven remix will see sonic nods across the club with this four-on-the-floor gristle. "Statiform Region" is techno's answer to a cinematic interlude. A testament to Alfredo's lilting synth ability. "No Way Out" kicks off the B side, with a algorithmic tinkering of sonic vs low hits and stabs. Rounding up, Echologist does what Echologist does best; a scattershot of intertwined and precarious techno sound, spliced with industrialised power. A creative, radical, and emotionally skittering 13th release from Weekend Circuit, which will be released in stores worldwide on 25th July 2016.

ack for the second volume of "Ground-Fault-Interrupt”, a compilation series launched last year by the London based imprint inaugurated by Michael Wells, which has developed into a respected destination for enthusiasts and hardsteppers alike. Remaining in a state of evolution, Weekend Circuit continues to celebrate all that's raucus and right, split across a 2 record release. Returning to the label are Jeff Rushin, PEARL, Developer, Alderaan, and IY, Stanislav Tolkachev, and Antonio De Angelis while Par Grandvik makes his debut. This double vinyl compilation is a mix of pulsating, essential, bottom heavy, and ultimately diverse techno. __ Par Grandvik and Jeff Rushin start sounds off on side A, "The Act" is a dusky concoction of church atmosphere and clean percussion, giving "Graphite" the platform to continue with an abyssal measure of agile percussion . Side B enters with P.E.A.R.L.'s "Azul & Oro" - an exposed hyper-dash kick drum, chopping between closed and open hi-hats throughout to keep an ever elastic momentum, leaving Developer and "Lost Moments" to follow with this echo immersed, high-casualty workout of pertinent techno articulation. The 2nd vinyl is just as downreaching and subaqueous as the first, with Alderaan's "Sequel" immersing you in ambient decadence with an industrial lean. IY's "Nara" further trips you out with an instinctive feel and likely energy of highs and lows. The D side is inward techno at its best, reaching out to the ominous and misanthropic of society. "Framing" is a drone of slow pace drive, suitable for only the strongest in techno. "Anomaly" embodies tradition and experimentation. Distinct and abrasive in its energy, this track feels deeply personal and all atmosphere. This meticulously arranged LP is devoid of convention, manifesting itself beyond planet-sized thinking and highlights the labels ongoing artistic vision.

Off kilter, sideways and savage, Weekend Circuit continues, Stanislav Tolkachev returns and YYYY enter for this versatile, two sided release. Stanislav opens proceedings with Creeping Determinism; an ever unexpected melee of carefully woven, techno diversity he's well known for. A tapestry of bleeps factored with a constant approach of up and down percussion. Cognitive Bias adventures into all things raucous and high energy, delivering an electronically invigorating attack on the senses with deep and distorted bass, and a constant of high end stabs. Expect choppy, pinging, wildfire energy. Meanwhile on the B side, YYYY introduce themselves with no pause for thought. Khaliat is an unconventional burst of techno enthusiasm - charged and dancefloor primed. Hath delivers an uninhibited onslaught of man made, psychedelic glitch techno, pulling you to and fro throughout. Overall a highly diverse release, and certainly a firm favourite here at Weekend Circuit from one of our favourite artists and one of our "ones to watch". Welcome aboard YYYY

alderaan - Statics (Stanislav Tolkachev's 'Well, I'm Here' Mix)
Just 6 months after his debut release on the label, Weekend Circuit invite Alderaan back at the helm of techno. Alter ego of Buenos Aires artist Franco De Michele - already revered by some of the industry greats - presents 'Statics' / 'Golden Ratio', a manifestation of progressive and dynamic techno, with Stanislav Tolkachev taking the B side. Hailed as one of live techno's notorious artists, Stanislav makes his first appearance on the London based imprint, presenting an abstract take of ever intense, rolling techno for the remixes. With previous releases on the likes of Semantica & M_REC LTD, Tolkachev - originally from Ukraine - comes as no newbie. Falling through the techno paradigm, this multi-tiered EP cuts a circuitous progression of moving sounds and energy. With the embodiment and animation of life, Alderaan adds his percussive punch and whirlwind of complexity to both 'Statics' & 'Golden Ratio' on the A side. Hosting 2 tracks on side B, Stanislav bounds through with a fix of dark vitality and abstract session, cascading between light and dark. Hyper-dynamic, pulsating sounds make these noise churning tunes absolute "must have" tools of the trade. Abrasive, energising and reliably trippy, this release is a tension building exploration of effective, outdoor environment music, putting Weekend Circuit once again at the forefront of many artists collection.

Weekend Circuit stride on with the second part of P.E.A.R.L.’s ‘Desolation’ EP welcoming Francois X, Reeko, I/Y and Jeff Rushin to this series of remixes, servicing the generation with every bit of expansive energy techno music has to offer. Francois X’s remix of ‘In Space' architectures raw, artificial, and flat-out production with gritty realism and brutal drum sequencing. Taking the original and making it his own, externally imposing in on itself, this peak time pattern leaves you energised and hectic. Reeko takes on the title track ’Desolation’, the result is plagued with atmosphere; stripping, capturing and examines you before you have chance to do so to it. The tracks estranged essence and amalgam of sound is immediately apparent. It has you uncertain and poised for more, pulsating with darkness at every turn. I/Y's 'Reduction' reduces nothing of the sort, constantly fluxing between varying percussion types of both hi and low energy. Considering nothing more than to possess you with filter laden drum pads and a stark reality, IY have created a hypnotic vision of creative compulsion that'll have you dance yourself silly. Rushin delivers his sonic canvas of sound; every bit his own, this original piece of production magnifies any opportunity to cause dancefloor commotion. Emphatically crafted, this thought proving and thunderously loud and vivid record will keep you exhilarated from start to finish.

Celebrating all that's ear-piercing and Techno, P.E.A.R.L. surges through with an emanating soundscape of near, far and leftfield embodiment of energy. Following on from the well received Ground Fault Interrupt, P.E.A.R.L. brings his Spanish stamina and Berlin influence to the table in Biblical amounts. Abrasive and dancefloor-focused "DESOLATION" is no stranger to the harder sounds of percussion. With a subtle ghost, and ever tense, this track rides through red traffic lights, and begins at the end of your comfort zone; Techno at its best. Evoking a visceral reaction, "IN SPACE" exerts its crude, unearthly series of paranormal Techno sound from the get go. A long drawn tool of the trade, comprising of little more than drone and percussion, this gives way to be adapted into any mix in the right hands. "FLAME ON EARTH" doffs in salutation to the afterparty. With a constant identity of beep and bleeps - continually growing from somewhere from within itself - this track leaves a trail where no path lies. Cascading between dark and light, this is a release of effectual Techno worthy of any record bag, regardless of your sub-genre preference - a real weapon of profession.

Ground-Fault- Interrupt (Part 2) - (Part 1 release date 25th May feat. Developer, Yan Cook, Dax J, Antonio De Angelis) Weekend Circuit, record label born out of London, England, is an artistic entity focussing primarily on releasing first-rate Techno since it’s inception in 2013. Starting from humble beginnings, the outfit have rapidly grown into one of the cities most important collectives. The inaugural release, helmed by Dax J, helped set the blueprint for a well-honed, forward-glancing sound that owes as much to London as it does to Berlin. Previous releases have given artists a stand-alone platform upon which to extend their music to the masses, and now the label releases its first V/A series, Ground-Fault-Interrupt. Artists such as Developer and Sleeparchive return to the imprint, this time joined by both veteran producers and newcomers alike. Yan Cook, Alderaan & P.E.A.R.L. also surface, giving this compilation a unique flavour and displaying a true understanding of the label’s direction. Spread over 2 parts, the record’s eight tracks further showcase what the label has been become known for, a highly-focussed, well-contemplated brand with music to match. With tracks from the compilation already being played by artists such as Rodhad at this years Time Warp, Ben Sims and more, G-F-I offers future classics across the board. Early support from Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Rodhad, Kr!z, DJ Deep, Randomer, Stanislav Tolkachev & Dustin Zahn.

Nearing the 2-year mark since the launch of the label, Weekend Circuit is back with undoubtedly its most accomplished release to date. Having already featured on WCR 04, providing 2 standout remixes for Coldgeist’s ‘Artefacts’, Developer is making a return - this time presenting ‘Liberation Signals’, his first original work since 2014's 'In Pure Form'. After gaining much deserved acclaim among his peers in the last decade, Developer has cemented himself as a respected name in techno and it is a great pleasure to invite him back for a rare appearance outside of the labels that have paved his path including Mote Evolver, Polegroup and his own hugely inspirational imprint - Modularz. ‘Liberation Signals’ has all the attributes of a trademark release from the Los Angeles based producer - fully functional for the dance floor yet still in true Developer fashion, brings a sound with a multi faced approach to production. Reaching out from main room to after-party, with an agenda-free straight up techno tactility this EP is armed with the militia required for any club eventuality, summoning energy wavered by time.

Delivering 2 cuts of his individual brand of weighty atmospheric Techno, Rommek’s first ever EP, ’Thought Patterns‘ is a sign of promising things to come. After stand out releases on Modularz and her own label Grey Report, Adriana Lopez is a noticeably welcome edition as she delivers a stripped down take on the title track. ‘Thought Patterns’ gets another deep interpretation from The Plant Worker on the flip, who’s recent works haven’t gone un-noticed.
