op.disc’s highly acclaimed 2013 double pack from Radiq aka yoshihiro HANNO receives some heavy reworking from three of his label mates, Fumiya Tanaka, Akiko Kiyama and AOKI takamasa. Fumiya Tanaka’s reinterpretation provides an extensive, deep down edition of “Vida Noir” and renders the original beats into a minimal bass behemoth of a track that clocks in at almost ten minutes. Akiko Kiyama shows her peerless talent in her revision of “Rondo”. The beats and pieces are sticking like glue each other to render exotic and mesmerizing aspect of Radiq’s original. AOKI takamasa shows his further involvement into minimalism on his version of “Calling”, channels a micro-house groove into a multilayered beast.

Yoshihiro Hanno's project Radiq as beautifully evolved over the last years. From his more dubby chilled out experiments to his present housier sound one thing always remain: his music as natural feel of groove and rhythm. What all good funk and jazz is made of. And it can't be clearer than on this new ep for Musique Risquée who demonstrates is different personnality. The housy groove of Gun Street Shuffle to the soulful Pharaohe and the funky Stolen Moments, this ep as it all!

One of Tokyo’s finest label op.disc kicks off 2011 with a deep 4 tracks EP by the label’s co-owner Radiq aka Yoshihiro Hanno. A1 [Escape From The Bullet] drags you into a laidback groove with loose snare sounds, combined with funky percussions, sexy voice samples. His bright but somewhat dry synth adds a colour to it. On A2, the title tells everything. [Raw Machine] focuses on authentic old school Chicago house rhythm. Yet there are lots of Radiq’s characters like jazzy synth, minimalistic wah-wah guitar phrase, and funky bass. An excellent piece of wildness. B1 [Deep Medicine] is a club-oriented deep track with his modern approach. The tight drum sound is sprinkled with chopped voice and sound objects. B2 [The Revolution Comes] seems to follow his previous release [mo’ roots] EP on Philpot. He successfully put his roots again with vintage black music flavour, but is digging deeper with this dope jamming house track.
This EP shows Mr. Radiq at his finest.

COLOURED VINYL!
Yoshihiro Hanno aka Radiq is a highly acclaimed musician and composer from Japan, now living and working between Tokyo and Paris. He did releases on imprints like Sub Rosa, Logistic and Progressive Form. Hanno worked with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra as well as Arto Lindsey or Ryuichi Sakamoto. Besides he got international fame as a composer for different film scores including work with Asian movie master Hou Hsiao-Hsien and film director Jia Zhang-ke. Radiq is since some time well aligned with the Philpot Camp. When he and SoulPhiction met again last year during the Philpot Tour in Japan, co-operation was affirmed and tracks were committed. Two of those funky nuggets are released here, one coming with a brilliant SoulPhiction remix treatment. "Thanks for purchasing a real copy!"

Hails from Kurashiki Japan, Haruki Matsuo have released several house gems from highly acclaimed imprints such as Rush Hour and Night Moves. After his contribution to us on 2009's “hub opus tokyo”, op.disc welcomes his landing back with this superb 4tracker. Tough and subtle are the best words to describe Haruki’s sound, you’ll find his one-of-a-kind characteristics. As you’ll see on tracks like “Commando” or “Section 1,” he doesn’t lean on sleazy gimmicks – tidy drums and clean lines just keep the groove going. Feel what you feel…

Akiko Kiyama finally returns to Tokyo's op.disc imprint after 5 years of absence. Compared with her split/collabolation 12" released in 2006, her unique style developed in such a fine style. Her liquid sound and sensitive ways of putting layers are even more blushed and combined with heavy, wild bass grooves. A1 [The Duplicated Man] will fold you in her world of dark and mysterious phrases, while A2 [Speak Bubble] develops dubby, minimal soundscapes. B1 [Maggio] is a brilliant long groovy tune - mystic whistle of a bird and emotional melodies and raw percussions evokes images of argentina tango raw percussion. Enjoy mysterious sound !
