The shadowy UK techno artist, A Sagittariun, releases his debut album this November, to coincide with the Sagittarius zodiac period. "Dream Ritual" comes off the back of a steady stream of well received EPs from 'The Archer' on his own Elastic Dreams label, releases that have captured the imaginations of the electronic community for their depth and diversity, where old techno breaks collide with Detroit techno aesthetics, ambient dub sits alongside industrially charged electro, and many more sound palettes inbetween. A 2012 Resident Advisor podcast perfectly encapsulated the A Sagittariun mood, and the uninitiated should definitely check this out.
"Dream Ritual" continues this journey through moods and tempos, each track sprinkled with this stargazing quality. Opening track "Sundial" sets the tone, the percussive elements teasing in and out of a melodious, thick analogue cloud.
"Crystallization" sees A Sagittariun collaborate with veteran guitarist Skip McDonald (Sugarhill Gang/Tackhead/On-U Sound), whos guitar licks have graced Sugarhill classics like "The Message" and "White Lines", as well as working with the likes of James Brown, Afrika Bambaataa, George Clinton and more…The sprawling dub tinged piece evokes shades of Boards Of Canada, spacey guitar licks meet downtown with A Sagittariun's take on ambient dub…
The album weaves its way through a heady mix of sounds, be it the old skool breakbeats of "Conquering Lions" and "A Lucid Dream", the driving classic techno sounds of "V4641 Sgr", "The South Node" and "Network Restoration", industrial slabs of dub funk on "The Age Of Sin" and "Seven Locks (In Dub)" and the concentrated jazzy electronica of "The Mind Has No Time".
"Dream Ritual" represents the versatility of A Sagittariun, and presents a collection of music for the listening experience as opposed to a dancefloor record, hopefully following the lineage of some of the classic techno and electronic albums that have paved the way and most definitely influenced A Sagittariun on this record.

A Sagittariun - Cosmic Trigger
A Sagittariun returns to Rekids this May with ‘Strange Brew EP’. Following his ‘Mazes & Monoliths’ EP on Rekids in 2021, as well as releases on Running Back, Hypercolour, Idle Hands, and Craigie Knowes, the Elastic Dreams boss returns to Radio Slave’s label for another standout three-track EP of colourful and psychedelic cuts. Leading the release is ‘The Mind Blanks At The Glare’, which sees the Bristolian utilise low-slung breakbeats, bouncing basslines, and fluttering synths for a chugging start to the EP. ‘Don’t Look In The Freezer’ follows with dubbed-out FX and stomping low end, before ‘Cosmic Trigger’ brings hypnotic bass together with trippy, twinkling arps and dreamy pads for a gentle final.

A Sagittariun - Timewave
Following releases for the likes of Hypercolour, Idle Hands, and Craigie Knowes, the Elastic Dreams boss has carved out a rep for a widescreen, psychedelic take on electronic music that jumps from dub, ambient and electronica to pelting techno. Here, for Rekids, the Bristolian producer indulges his weightier influences to deliver a release that was literally made for the label. Stumbling, off-kilter drums open the release on ‘Inner Frontier’, moving into a breakdown of synthesised bliss, as a barrage of FM tones dart across the stereo spectrum before the familiar thud of the 4/4 kick returns. On the flip, ‘Annihilating Rhythm’ twists and turns through flanged-out percussion and gritty synthesis before the sound of a car and the titular vocal sample flies through the mix, destined to generate mayhem on dancefloors. Rounding off the release, ‘Timewave’ links metallic percussion and sizzling acid basslines for an unrelenting late-night techno excursion.

Shortinfo:
A Sagittariun’s third album chronicles the journey back to Telepathic Heights; an expedition that encounters many obstacles along the way. The feuding parties of the two planets make for a journey of determination and self-discovery for our techno lone ranger that will ultimately deliver him to the sacred site on which Telepathic Heights stands.
Conceived as a space western soundtrack to the cinematic interpretation of this tale, Return To Telepathic Heights delivers ten chapters that journal the ultimate mission to reach the imposing tower of Telepathic Heights, where dream telepathy has become the primary communicative tool amongst its peaceful and harmonious community who have opted out of the planetary war that continues to rage, seemingly with no armistice anytime soon.
The score fittingly winds its way through the trials and tribulations of this journey, blending minimal and harmonic rhythms, industrial funk, dreamy synthwave and transcendental techno into the rich tapestry of music that documents the ‘Return To Telepathic Heights’.
The album features original artwork by Johnny Bruck, fully licensed, and taken from the legendary German science fiction novel series, ‘Perry Rhodan’, which ran weekly from the early 1960s, and was the most successful sci-fi book series ever written.

Now the label re-press the original vinyl release that features two amazing MD2 (AKA Mike Dehnert) remixes.
Resident Advisor summarised the debut A Sagittariun release in a glowing review “The Circle Stops Somewhere"
is definitive driving music, even down to the evocation of onrushing traffic in the form of cold, blurred synth stabs.

hand stamped 12” vinyl, limited to 150 copies
Tracklist
A1. The Golden Apple
A2. Blue Lotus
B1. Liebe Tanzen
Short info:
More leftfield techno sounds from one of the scene’s more unassuming producers, A Sagittariun delivers a new single stamped with his trademark sound aesthetic. The ‘Fahrenheit 451’ EP brings together three new productions in lieu of a new album coming later in the year.
‘The Golden Apple’ brings together brain scrambling drums, a heavy hoover bassline, and a typically Sagi style wormhole riff, whilst ‘Blue Lotus’ throws tropical shapes around the broken beats that flourish into a rapid 4/4 stomper, with scattering hats and equatorial ambience giving a unique vibe. A Sagittariun strays into disco territory on ‘Liebe Tanzen’, flitting between modern intergalactic synth riffs & basslines, and sampled disco drums.
Vital Sales Points:
- hand stamped 12” vinyl, limited to 150 copies
- global PR and marketing campaign from Hype Filter

A1. Stingray A2. Burning Crystal B1. An Infinite Number Of Possibilities B2. 720 Degrees
Short info:
Fresh from his ‘Vanishing Point single on UK label Hypercolour, which saw the lead track hit the Beatport Leftfield House & Techno sales chart at #1 for four weeks, A Sagittariun is back on his Elastic Dreams label with the ‘Slightly Ajar’ EP.
As always, A Sagittariun brings an eclectic melting pot of flavours to each of his EPs, blending Detroit techno, ambient house, highly charged electro, dramatic synths and transcendental vibes. ‘Stingray’ combines future techno beats with apocalyptic
bass and melodious keys, with an almost early 1980s synth pop vibe to it, whilst ‘Burning Crystal’ is the kind of introverted and deep ambient electronica that has shaped the two A Sagittariun albums (2013’s ‘Dream Ritual’ and 2016’s ‘Elasticity’).
‘An Infinite Number Of Possibilities’ is relentless, frenetic and funky, as a myriad of warped sounds and riffs flash past the heavy drum work, and ’720 Degrees’ closes the EP with crunchy 808 electro patterns, FM bass and huge melancholic strings
straight out of the Derrick May rule book. A Sagittariun will be performing at the Berghain, Berlin on 26th August, showcasing a new live set before embarking on further dates at the end of the year.
Vital Sales Points:
- A Sagittariun is a guest on the B.Traits BBC Radio 1 show on 29th July

A1. Vanishing Point
B1. The Pathway (Original Mix)
B2. The Pathway (Matrixxman Remix)
Short info:
One of the current techno scene's 'hidden treasures', Bristol based A Sagittariun has discretely released a wide breadth of music over the last five years for labels like Secretsundaze, Hypercolour and his own Elastic Dreams label. Two highly acclaimed albums in "Dream Ritual" and "Elasticity" as well as fifteen EPs have appealed to those who like their techno without frontiers, taking in blistering 140BPM techno, breakbeat IDM and ambient dub with ease. His second release for Hypercolour displays signs of crossover appeal at long last…
Lead track "Vanishing Point" has already been receiving early plays from the likes of Laurent Garnier (dropping it in his recent Timewarp Germany set), Spencer Parker and Len Faki. Big pumping beats and spiralling FX fall aside to a lone breakbeat that ushers in one pretty special breakdown section. The childlike keys and fathoms deep synth stabs (straight out of the John Carpenter school of fathoms deep synth stabs) have already drawn comparisons to the retro 80s vibes to be heard on the American sci-fi horror series Stranger Things. It's a breakdown that takes the listener to an uncharted dimension, bookended by slammin' beats that acts as a perfect mood changer in any set. Watch this one soar!
"The Pathway" keeps things on an all together straighter tip; an incessant tribal loop weaves and filters around a thunderous kick and shuffling hats, ebbing and flowing all the way in what might be A Sagittariun's most club-centric and stripped back production yet. Matrixxman (Dekmantel/Spectral Sound) is on hold to deliver a superb remix; pushing the original down a long dark tunnel for a growling and reverberating techno overhaul. Splendid stuff from the San Francisco based DJ/producer who is making serious waves on the scene after his landmark 2015 album 'Homesick' for Ghostly International.

Tracklist:
A : Heights (Jus' Rushin Mix) B1: Oxidize (Original Mix) B2: Oxidize (RVDS Remix)
Infotext:
After his exciting album "Elasticity" on his own imprint Elastic Dreams, A Sagittariun delivers the equally fascinating three track "Oxidize EP" for german label Couldn't Care More. While "Heights" is a stripped-down basic-channelish techno ride, rough, edgy and with a hint of hypnotic melodies, the title track heads in a quite different direction: still it's raw expressionistic techno, but the flow is ever-changing, mesmerizingly shifting and twisting between hissing beats and enlightened synths. For the remix of "Oxidize" Golden Pudel Club resident and odd-house virtuoso RVDS fires up the acid machine and does it Detroit style, warm and cold, uplifting and melancholic.

Short info:
Ambient techno exponent, A Sagittariun, fires off another full-length album transmission this April on his own Elastic Dreams label. 'Elasticity' is the Bristol based artist's second long player, and the follow up to his acclaimed 2013 debut, 'Dream Ritual'.
Having last released a trio of singles in early 2015 (for Hypercolour, Secret Sundaze and Elastic Dreams), 'Elasticity' marks a return for A Sagittariun, and fans of the slippery and elastic sounds that hallmarked his debut album will not be disappointed. 'Dream Ritual' helped firmly establish A Sagittariun as an artist whose musical chops and integrity operate largely outside of the mainstream and a producer who chooses to put the music firmly center stage, whilst opting to remain relatively anonymous within the music scene.
A Sagittariun explains; "Elasticity was recorded over quite a short period, but the sketches and ideas have been germinating for some time, so sonically it's very coherent and consistent and moves in a way that I personally like albums to move in, with a narrative and flow that holds you right to the end. The recipe for Elasticity was always to be malleable and pliable with the sounds and tempos; for me it's all about the listening experience, and creating a landscape and a world within that one can really get deep into and explore, it's optimistic and progressive music for the head, heart and feet. I really do advise the listener to don headphones and take the trip with me".
Over the album's 11 tracks, and a supporting cast of 'transmissions' from the likes of Robert Anton Wilson and Terrence McKenna, 'Elasticity' delves into a myriad of textured sounds and pliable rhythms, touching of ambient, industrial, breaks and dub influences. A two track 12" single, "Contortion"/"Concrete Walls" will be released one month prior, and features a couplet of 140 BPM techno tracks.

Re-press of A Sagittariun’s debut 2011 EP on Elastic Dreams. “The Circle Stops Somewhere” has been a
defining release for the British techno explorer, long since out of print since its release seven years ago.
It's also a nostalgically-observed piece of electronic jazz, the dominant motifs of which transport one into a
crepuscular world of uncertainty and disquiet. The reliable Mike Dehnert turns in two contrasting mixes…” More

A1. Original Mix
B1. A Sagittariun’s Sabresonic Re-Dream
B2. A Sagittariun’s Friday Night At Happy Jacks Remix
Short info:
With a brimming catalogue of music that operates in the more adventurous quarters of the techno music genre, A
Sagittariun preps his first release of 2018, with a remix disc of one the Holy Grail of tracks from one of the most
endearing electronic acts of the 1990s.
The Sabres Of Paradise, AKA Andrew Weatherall, Gary Burns and Jagz Kooner, released a clutch of
acclaimed albums, singles and remixes between the years 1992 and 1995, when the trio disbanded. Three
albums for Warp, remixes of The Future Sound Of London, Leftfield & Lydon, Bjork, New Order and The
Dust Brothers (AKA Chemical Brothers), and not forgetting the now legendary ‘Smokebelch II’ single, which
must have soundtracked hundreds of thousands of sunsets and chillout after hours over the years, have left a
huge treasure trove of a catalogue as part of their legacy.
One production though has gone down in Sabres folklore, since its release was limited to inclusion on one multi
artist compilation CD album only, and it is this track, ‘Lick Wid Nit Wit’, that A Sagittariun has unearthed, licensed
and re-moulded, 25 years after it was produced, for release on his Elastic Dreams label. More

Lead cut on the vinyl is 'The Code Breaker', channeling some enchanting techno moods and themes on a no gimmicks, no cheap thrills, head & foot stomper, whilst 'Triangulum' prefers a mechanical rhythm of robotic tech funk, syrupy melodies and acidic motifs to deliver a dance in outer space.

Tracklist 12": A1. Wave Upon Wave A2. Re-Ignition B1. Ascella B2. And The Moon Be Still As Bright
A Sagittariun returns to Elastic Dreams after 2013's incredible debut album, 'Dream Ritual'. Having picked up such accolades as Electronica Album Of The Month (December, Mojo Magazine) and No. 6 Best Album on 2013 (DJ Magazine), A Sagittariun gets right back to business with this eclectic 4 track release.
'Wave Upon Wave' channels frenzied breakbeats and rolling acid-like riffs, whilst 'Re-Ignition' and 'Ascella' are clearly designed for the dancefloor, with muscular and Teutonic beats underpinning more celestial sounds. EP closer, 'And The Moon Be Still As Bright' is cut from the same cloth as the 'Dream Ritual' sessions, highly emotive and intelligent dance music, wrapped up in cloud of shimmering pads.
Select DJ reactions
Matt Walsh (Turbo/Bugged Out) - 'Dream Ritual' was a great album and now even more great tracks, unstoppable producer, one of my current favourites
Ed Davenport (Berghain) - woahh! Killers!!
Shenoda (Hypercolour) - 'Ascella' and 'Wave Upon Wave' are superb!
Dom Cappello (Sub Club) - Loving 'Ascella' and The Moon…
Truss (Perc/Stroboscopic) - 'Ascella' is great
Brendon Moeller - 'Re-Ignition' and 'The Moon' are the ones for me
Marco Bernardi (Planet E/Futureboogie) - Yes, another great release from the man of mystery, full support
Jimmy Edgar (Warp) - cool music
Objekt - Awesome, gonna give these a spin for sure
Laurent Garnier - excellent, full support from me
Danny Tenaglia - 'Re-Ignition' for me, thanks!

A1. Sundial A2. Crystallization feat. Skip McDonald B1. V4641 Sgr B2. Seven Locks (In Dub) B3. The Age Of Sin C1. Conquering Lions C2. Trine D1. The South Node D2. Network Restoration
Short info:

With his debut album prepped for November release, A Sagittariun drops a taster of things to come, in the form of the ‘Across The Celestial Sphere’ EP. ‘Clusters’ rolls out another dusty breakbeat in perhaps his most dancefloor-centric offering yet. ‘Fire Sign’ is a warm and jazzy slice of techno, whilst ‘The DNA Of Life’ is a moody, industrial electro joint…

A Sagittariun continues to explore the deeper shades of the electronic repertoire with the ‘Rapid Ear Movement’ EP featuring a remix from Terrace (D-Jax Upbeats/Eevolute). The Mojo Odyssey and the Terrace remix cater for the feet whilst A Lucid Dream is a trip for the mind. Feedback: Gerd (4Lux/Clone) – Loving The Mojo Odyssey, and good to see Terrace delivering such a bomb remix too. _ Dusky (Dogmatik) – The Mojo Odyssey is wicked, will play for sure. _ Appleblim (Applepips) – ‘Eye Against Eye’ was one of my fave tunes of recent times, this does not disappoint, true to 313 vibes but with a modern bass twist. _ Tensnake (Defected) – Amazing deepness on the original, I like the whole EP.

Since its launch at the end of last year, Bristol’s Elastic Dreams has been making a name for itself with its own take on the underground sound of house, techno & electronica. At the heart of that success has been the music of label boss A Sagittariun, whose previous singles ‘The Circle Stops Somewhere’ & ‘Carina’ have received critical acclaim and support from key DJs such as Francois K, Ripperton, Huxley & Lawrence to name just a few. Now the elusive head honcho is back with a new EP, ‘Born Under 22 Stars’ featuring 3 new cuts. The release gets going with ‘Wind Tunnel’, a slice of pulsating minimal techno that journeys deep into the realms of the hypnotic electronica with it’s filtered and effected stabs and insistent throbbing bass. ‘Cyrranus 247’ takes things further into the techno realm with a percussive workout that has an intense old school feel to it. On the flip, ‘West of Ophiuchus’ is an epic ten and a half minute, floorfilling masterpiece that certainly takes it’s time to get going, but bursts into a beat midway through, soaring the BPM against a backdrop of deep keys and enveloping harmonics, think early works by the likes of Planetary Assault Systems and Dave Angel… delivering a classic and timeless piece that is simply sublime. ‘Born Under 22 Stars’ is another winner from A Sagittariun and his highly promising Elastic Dreams label, enjoy!
