With his first release for Disco Bloodbath, London based Scottish producer Objects Of Illusion offers a powerful statement of intent.
The ‘Private Games EP’ features four tracks of raw emotional club music that, while there are nods to early Chicago and Detroit, go beyond mere pastiche and are instead something heartfelt and sublime. A stunning debut from an exciting new talent. More

Disco Bloodbath's latest sees the man behind the Tusk Wax empire swap his A&R hat for a pair of producer pants and team up with the highly talented Causa for a four track EP. 'Confide' is a moody slo-mo chugfest with vocals courtesy of Tusk himself. Causa's dub strips back the groove and let's the synths wig out, while Scott Fraser aims for the floor and provides a sterling remix full of clattering drums and acid flourishes. The package is rounded off with Iniciar, a stunning ambient synth piece with a sci-fi soundtrack feel.

Disco Bloodbath Recordings latest is the debut solo release from one of the founders and original residents of the Disco Bloodbath clubnights, Dan Beaumont - formally of production duo Jam Factory and the man behind London venues Dalston Superstore and the newly opened Dance Tunnel. ‘Reality Checkpoint’ is an atmospheric mid-tempo house chugger based around judicious use of samples and a slight dub-reggae sensibility to the groove. The original is accompanied by two alternate versions - one from Neville Watson, which pushes the track into club territory, and one from Dan himself, which strips things back, further accentuating the track’s dub overtones.

Disco Bloodbath Recordings’ first release of 2013 sees the return of label boss Damon Martin with the vinyl only ‘Wintermute EP’. Lead track, ‘Feel It’, is a club pumper with shades of early Chicago and Detroit. Raw drums, energetic synths and an insistent vocal sample all contribute to the feeling that this wouldn’t sound out of place on The Scene or The New Dance Show. On the flip the EP’s title track has a more introspective feel. Percussive TR-909 drums contrast with swirling harmonies conjuring up images of desolate landscapes. The release is rounded off by a remix from Sean Johnston, aka Hardway Bros, who turns in an acidic drug-chugger very much in keeping with the sound he has been pushing alongside Andrew Weatherall at their A Love From Outer Space club-night.

Disco Bloodbath Recordings continue their run of stellar releases with the debut on the label of the mysterious Al Gobi, accompanied by heavy remix pressure courtesy of Crooked Man and Wild Geese. The ‘Halfway House’ original is simple yet extremely effective. Analogue drums work with twin bass and piano lines building to a dancefloor satisfying crescendo. The first remix sees Wild Geese inject some big room energy via thundering sub-bass and a reworked piano line while on the flip Crooked Man provides an eleven and a half minute epic, retaining the bassline of the original but replacing the drums with a killer electro groove and introducing additional vocals and a twisted horn part. BIG TUNE!!

Disco Bloodbath Recordings' third release drops this October with synth-beat duo G&S turning in 'The Green Man' EP featuring a remix from Soul Jazz, Comeme and DFA artist, Capracara. Started just a few months back, Disco Bloodbath Recordings has already set its stall out as a label of note, with two wildly different releases from Damon Martin and Hand Plant doing the Disco Bloodbath name proud. G&S, aka Nadia Ksaiba and Matt Waites, made a name for themselves at Our Disco and Liars Club that, along with Trash, helped with the resurgence of modern eclecticism around the turn of the century. The duo's previous releases were the formidable 'Show Me The Good Times' on Dissident and 'Portable Control' on Codek and now we're treated to the next instalment of weighty electronics. The unmistakable punch of a Roland TR808 drives 'The Green Man' while jabbing tones add to the gritty foundation that slowly opens up into a stirring, electro-disco cut characterised by soaring strings and light chords.

London’s Disco Bloodbath launches it’s long awaited label this June with the raw, unbridled house of ‘That Ain’t Right’ by co-founder Damon Martin and backed with remixes from Waze & Odyssey and Legendary Children. Disco Bloodbath began life in 2007 as an irregular speakeasy party in the basement of a Caribbean restaurant in East-London, the brainchild of its resident DJs Damon Martin, Ben Pistor and Dan Beaumont (now ex-Bloodbath). Since then the collective’s raw disco, spaced out Italo, vintage house and proto-techno have taken the Bloodbath sound across the world while making some exceptional remixes for the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Little Boots, The Aliens and White Lies. Disco Bloodbath Recordings first outing see’s Damon Martin crack out his TR909, Juno60 and sampler for a succinct, emotional slice of timeless club music that tips a respectful nod to the USA’s finest proponents of House with a capital ‘H’. Waze & Odyssey, rightly riding a wave of hype for output for Scucci Manucci and Body Work, don’t disappoint with the first remix of ‘That Ain’t Right’. Self-confessed Todd Terry and MK devotees, the Canadian duo do their inspirations proud with a brilliant executed interpretation that updates and respects the original in equal measure.
