Let’s Play House’s latest endeavor is a no-nonsense imprint, simply dubbed LPH WHITE, which, as the name implies, takes a cue from those mysterious, classic, unmarked dance records of years past. The debut 12” comes courtesy of London-based duo Waze & Odyssey, who, as is to be expected, deliver a couple of top-notch club bangers (the deadly “Feelin’ You” and deeper “Gonna Make This”) that will immediately shred any dancefloor to pieces. The one remix included in the package is by London-by-way-of-Southern California up-and-comer Urulu. (The second WHITE EP will feature four originals by the guy.)

waze & odyssey - Upper Thrust (Chris Simon Remix)
From the redwood forests of Big Sur and the industrial warehouses of downtown Los Angeles comes PFEIFFER, a label dedicated to quality and a diverse musical output. Pfeiffer follows in the footsteps of labels such as Svek and Kompakt, known for releasing a wide range of techno and house with a common thread of unique and unpredictable energy. Looking to bring this type of eclectic curation into the modern era, Pfeiffer draws inspiration from the raw simplicity and effortless magnetism of its namesake location on the central coast of California. Pfeiffer’s third release sheds its veil of anonymity in style, bringing U.K. pioneers Waze & Odyssey to the label. Hot off the success of their summer smash "Everything," Waze & Odyssey's latest track “Upper Thrust” is a veritable journey, twisting and turning through deft synth stabs, ravey vocal cuts, and a dreamy breakdown. The Chicago influence is clear, but it’s truly a beast all its own. On the flip side, label head Chris Simon offers a dance floor-focused remix centered around a driving groove and a weighty bass riff.

waze & odyssey - Down With Tha
Already heavy hitters on the house music scene since their first releases back in 2012, Waze & Odyssey continue to carve out club burners with such ease, and their first release of 2017 finds a suitably fitting home on Edible. The duo of Firas Waez and Serge Santiago have seemingly not put one step wrong in their ascendency within the house music circuit. Be it releases for labels like Wolf Music, Elrow or their own W&O Street Tracks, or remixes for the likes of Disclosure, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur and Metronomy, W&O have found that knack of delivering sure fire winners time after time. Already a staple in label boss Eats Everything’s DJ sets, ‘Down With Tha’ has all the hallmarks of a bona fide club classic; if the hyperactive drums and looping vocal refrain doesn’t draw you in enough, then the downright funky bass lick that prominently packs a punch really provides the killer hook. The, quite frankly, face melting breakdown surely seals the deal, and we are anticipating this cut to ring out loud across dancefloors over the coming weeks and months. Competently propping up the release, ‘Seizure’ goes on a spacey, bongo odyssey (geddit?), serving up a rolling, dubby drum workout that culminates in a rather impressive snare roll breakdown that’ll have you frothing at the mouth. Snatches of female vox and whistles are dotted around the galloping jungle drums, whilst the elevating key chimes provide the perfect musical lift. Another slice of completely freshhouse music from W&O!

It's a great pleasure to welcome back Waze & Odyssey to the label, since their first
"Please don't Dance" EP on Dirt Crew wich was released in early 2013 and that featured
an excellent "Detroit Swindle" remix botht duo's have had a massive rise and impact on
the underground House scene worldwide. Waze & Odyssey have also had killer releases
on their own imprint "W&O Street tracks" and with their latest "On the Downlow" single
they stormed the dancefloors and major radio playlists.

back to the early Chicago and French House productions from the mid 90's.
On the other side of this fine 10" the deeper and more electrofied "We Go Home" delivers
some nasty breakdowns and with it's manic pitched and ascending lead sound it should shake

Having welcomed the likes of Citizen, Ejeca and Rhythm Operator into the W&O Street Tracks fold on the last two releases, label bosses Waze & Oddysey return to helm this fourth edition. Their irrepressible formula for classicist referencing house music is very much on display with lead track "Hold Up (Yeah You)" deftly matching emotive pads with a bumping groove and one of those simple yet oh so very effective vocal hooks. Another potential W&O hit in the making. Flip over and "I Feel Your Worth" might sound more restrained to begin with, but the duo are just teasing; filtered swathes of synths and vocals gradually come to the fore with explosive results

Waze & Odyssey take a break from launching their own label, providing a guest mix for Skream and Benga’s radio show and remixing the likes of TEED and Disclosure to return to Disco Bloodbath Recordings, where they provided a much acclaimed remix to the label’s debut release, Damon Martin - ‘That Ain’t Right’, earlier this year. The two originals here, ‘Love Attack’ and ‘She’s A Hooker’, continue where they left off, providing no-nonsense club trax with a nod to the past and an eye on the future. On the flip, Mark E delivers an outstanding remix, cross-pollinating 80s proto-house with vintage electronics and a distinct “kosmische” flavour to create a mutated, deceptively simple, dancefloor winner.

A moment's respite during these trying times. LPHWHTE is the third—and, likely, final—installment in our series of to-the-point LPH WHITE compilations. Four tracks bound together by their high-energy ebullience and zealous joy. Jacques Renault's contribution is a full-hearted disco throwback with a smoky mystique; Kristy Harper comes correct with a pummeling acid belter; Laroze gives us a disco-house banger that zips by at a fast-forward, breakneck pace; and Keita Sano delivers a zoinked-out and looped-up rhythm boogie as the closer.

Functional, tool-y dance tracks that have been run through a blender and administered electroconvulsive therapy. Freaky-deeky rallying cries for end-time raves and lock-in house parties lit only by busted strobes.

We’re finishing 2015 with what is pretty much a mini LP by Borrowed Identity, an inspired producer based in Freiburg. There’s a lot here and we think you should just listen to and enjoy the record, draw your own conclusions, but what we will say here is the A is ballsy house and the B is tough techno that touches on trance occasionally. Get why it’s called T?he Contrast??

LPH’s unpredictable sister label, LPH WHITE, is back with another juicy 12”, one that marks the imprint’s first foray into Japanese clubland. Atsushi Yano, a Kobebased producer, serves up three—as the title indicates—chewy tunes, all doused with African rhythms and set ablaze with fidgety keys, choppedup vocals, and groovy bass lines. Filling the release out is Jacques Renault’s nononsense, squaredup, leadfooted remix of “Stomping On the Verge.”

LPH WHITE’s latest is another madefortheclub sureshot winner from label cofounder and owner Jacques Renault himself. If you’ve caught one of his sets around the world sometime this year, you’ve most likely heard the house banger??and consequently gone nuts. It’s impossible to resist the temptations of the bombastic drums, fat bass, chopped up vocals, and dubby synth hooks included within. A shining example of Renault doing what he does best.

LPH WHITE’s second offering picks up where the first one, by Waze & Odyssey, left us. That 12” featured a remix by London-by-way-of-Southern-California house up-and-comer, Urulu, who produced all four of the tracks included on this EP. Left Coast is an ode to Taylor Freels’ home turf, but don’t think it’s all blissed-out Balearic burners one might listen to while rolling down a palm tree-lined stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway. Every one of the four songs is a cranked-up, high-octane, peak-hour monster.
